hI HUNSEN kind thanks for your well informed posts a pleasure to read . Another day closer let hope things fall our way . Atb have a very nice day
Good posts Hunsen. Keep up the good work.
Amati are good stockpickers. They invest for the "very long term" and like to see their companies grow so are unlikely to be selling here anytime soon. There is a proactive video from April this year which I watched earlier this year where they discuss this long term approach. Their performance compared to other VCT's is good there are a few other VCT's that have gone nowhere share price wise in 5 or 10 years. Amati' share price has increased 50-60 per cent in that time plus dividends. Think vct charges generally hold the performance back of these investment vehicles.
I got some very good ideas for allocating my money from analysing their stock holdings earlier this year so I have a number of holdings which they also hold. All those shares have done very well this year (I have around 4 holdings that Amati also has).
Hunsen
Thank you for these figures. Your posts are always interesting and very well informed/researched. Might have a look at a few of their stocks now and it’s interesting to see that they have done so well here too this year.
When you look at it from that perspective, this stock has increased so much this year already. It’s easy to forget and lose sight of sometimes. I’m not concerned about RG selling in the slightest, as I don’t believe it’s anything sinister...just a bit of profit taking, which everyone is entitled to do. It has been holding the price back quite a bit, but more importantly, those sells have been absorbed easily and we are still making some progress. In fact, it’s a relief to know exactly what’s been holding this back recently, as it hasn’t made sense, with all of the positives lately. Lots of positive news happening and more to come.
Looking bright here :)
Amati own 9,500,000 shares, 7.8% of DNL. They purchased this at ~33p in March this year, giving them a gain of ~ £2.3m or 76% in a few months. They are the 4th largest holder.
Looking at their other holdings, they have made massive gains on Eden £5m/124%, Ilika £2.3m/132%, Polarean Img £5.4m/121%, Loopup £4m/203% (all the above showing buys on RNS between March and April).
Not doing so well; Intelligent Ultrasound (May 2020) £300k/+16%, Fusion Anti (May 2020) £-500k/-21%, Rosslyn Data =, EQTec (July 2020) £-466k/-15%, Velocys £126k/+3%, Yourgene (Aug 2020) £-94k/-1%.
There is some interesting stuff here, clearly they are happy to let an investment run. They seem to be gifted stock pickers , making a profit of £19m this year on the basis of these RNS - this is very flawed maths but they are doing well.
The second group of shares look very interesting, Ilika is also owned by RG.
