@oldbaldy.......I presume (mother of all fcuk-ups) you will have seen this type of thing before.

I believe it shows the answer to the 'safe haven' question is not always the same and is changing.
You will need to ask yourself the question as and when the four horsemen ride. Bitcoin may seem outlandish now but some form of DeFi may be the answer.
I'll come back to the old mantra of 'diversification is key' along with 'keep (some of) your powder dry' to take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves.
:-)
WTFDIK etc.
NB
It is a blOOdy conundrum, I’m hoping Gold and silver is the answer?
I guess it’s all about how far they can keep kicking that can down the road?
Some of you guys are very experienced in investing, but for some of us mortals picking the right investments to mop up all this printed currency is tricky..
I think we are all in agreement that it’s going to happen it’s just a matter of when! :(
Sorry gentlemen, I could not resist! ;-)
All the talk of XR3i's got me all excited. A 5GT Turbo man myself.
I liquidated 50% of my holdings in everything bar my pension, after the recovery last year. Something I had not done in 30 years of investing, whilst witnessing several market crashes. I thought a big rebalance was on its way.
I did this for reasons similar to the ones you guys have mentioned previously.............I am now however, changing my mind.
I consider my dealings here (small cap) separate to the general market. Although, not immune to market movements/sentiment, I think it is possible to invest effectively here, if done wisely and with a large degree of luck, even if the market tanks.
My prediction is that the central banks and governments will continue to print money for an extended period of time. They have indicated that they are very willing to do this.
They are very prepared to kick the can. Whilst bond markets/investors/institutions bury their heads.
Sooooooo, I am suggesting you need to get your money made from this little caper and get out before 2024.
I fully intend to find safety for my wealth after this time in sun, sea and relaxation!!
Usual WTFDIK caveat.
NB
I don’t know if you’re joking or not?
Now short term I’m with you, if you like a gamble it’s been unbelievable! It’s possible that it could go to 300k soon ish ???
But in my opinion it’s no “safe haven” .... it could become regulated? Banned?..... or more likely “they” could bring in paper derivatives, just like they did with gold/silver thus the price can be manipulated....
No government can allow Bitcoin to carry on doing so well, it’s competition!
When we next get a currency reset I’m sure it will be some form of blockchain for sure, but for now enjoy the ride, but watch out for the spike :)
All IMO
In your opinion where would be the safest place to invest, should the inevitable happen....
Bitcoin obvs!!!!!

In your opinion where would be the safest place to invest, should the inevitable happen....
OB
Exactly, stay debt free.

OB, Bradley. You two would get on well with my dad. He had a timber company for years. He has retired now, but still plays with wood. My dad and his friend have just completed a Shepard's hut. My dad calls building things out of wood a hobby. He is nearly 80 now.
Going for supper now.

The trouble is with the xr2 idea is when this share price rises, the car could have a price tag of £50k and a ltr of fuel £10 lol
Personally I buy my phones “2nd hand” and invest the saving ;)
Bradley
Your a man of the cloth so to speak, carpentry is a very honest vocation IMO, being debt free is key to weathering this impending economic downturn IMO
Bradley. It's good striking up economic dialogue. Enjoy reading other peoples opinions on the World economy. I like this company because they are already achieving great results. Furthermore they are making progress through a pandemic.
Flex. I haven't been following Argo Block.
I left school in 82 and also wasn't brilliant. I was a bench joiner too.
Totally agree with all you guys regarding the 120 billion $ per being printed is very damaging. And yes oldbaldy I think your right about this company surviving the crash.
OB. The Xr2s are fetching serious money. I reckon give this company 18 months and you should be able to buy your wife a nice example.
I started off my career in stockbroking and now design create and restore historical gardens. I love the stock market, but I also love nature.
I am sorry that people dispute your views on the economic stage.
Some peoples idea of poverty is not having the latest I phone.
I think your right, 2023 will really start presenting problems for the World economy not seen yet. Meaning printing money is putting a bandage on cut main archery. What's really concerning is the pandemic is far from over.
The bond markets can't support the borrowing forever. I predict interest rate rises in the next 2 to 3 years. That's when people wont know whats hit them. Already credit card companies are demanding over extended borrowers pay back more money each month.
Woodstock - Anyone with Argo Blockchain in there is for the last 6 months is absolutely laughing 6P - 245P in 6 months!!

I’m a wood butcher (Carpenter) who opted out of school for my last 3 years, I went fishing with my best mate most days, we got up to all sorts, not a care in the world...... I don’t regret it either, good times
I worked hard, I had my first mortgage at 19 with my girlfriend, at the time...
My interest in economics came much later, I love the subject, like you say what’s going on in the world is horrendous, I recon we are headed for a “Great Depression“
When I say that to people they think I’m talking out of my rear.... we shall see soon enough, between now and 2023 I recon?
Renault 5 gordini turbo wow, very nice car!
I’d like to buy the wife a MK2 xr2 , she had a grey one in her youth, I’d love to buy one and park it outside where she works with a big bow round it, and see her reaction :)
Let’s see how the shares go :)

OB. Left school 86. Crazy how life passes so quickly.
Atb
OB. Sounds like we are of the same age and probably have a similar education in economics. My first car was a Mini Clubman. Went on to own a Renault 5 Gordini turbo. Wish I kept that. Have you seen how much Xr3s go for nowadays ???.
I am afraid you are completely right about your economic predictions. I say afraid because I do not believe a lot of everyday people know what's coming.
The Bank of England predictions of growth are incredious imop. For Example. Southampton did have over 1.5 million people using the cruise liners. When I look at the many small businesses that rely on the cruise ships, and have gone bust is heart breaking. It's the domino effect. This is just one example. Now if we translate similar demise across the World economy, we can only feel very worried.
The markets should have stayed down after the fall last March. Like you say it's the big boys propiing it up.
I really don't know where to start. The level of personal debt is eye watering. Government debt makes me scared. We have banks preparing for 0% interest rates. I mean everything I was taught in economics suggests we are heading for depression proper and not some flakey recession.
You will remember the early 90s, that was quite a tough time for home owners facing 17% interest rates.
It's the World debt wall that will change everything in the near future OB.
Woodstock
I left school in 87, looks like we are a very similar age? Did you leave in 86?
Xr3i’s were all the rage back then, unfortunately I had an 850cc mini it’s leaked like a sieve, ha ha
Why do I think a crash/ very large correction is coming, well
Well due to the amount of quantitative easing going on (40% of all currency ever printed in the US) I think we are in a big bubble, all this “printed” currency is artificially propping up the stock market and inflating the housing prices, commodities etc
When the governments stop handing out free money and the furlough stops many will find themselves out of work, then most folk will ease back on spending money, causing many problems all in my own opinion...
Personally I have temporarily put my pensions in low risk investments, and also stocked up on fully allocated bullion....we are unprecedented times... I could be overreacting? But my gut tells me otherwise
What’s your thoughts?
Cheers
OB :)
Jedward. I have an aversion of crypto currency. I am laughing my socks off. Ffs crypto currency in an Isa. Stroll on.
Oldbaldy. Interesting you mention stock market crash. I remember the stock market crash of 16th October 1987. Yep showing my age.
What factors make you believe a crash is coming ???. I read an article recently in Forbes saying that the World economy will hit something called a debt wall within 4 to 5 years.
I believe that the BOE is being over optimistic about future growth.
Good ratio of buys to sells and at £20 mil market cap looks cheap compared to a lot of AIM. I might dip my toe in for some more not sure it'll hit 1.6 but ..sure there a people that could drive the share that low if they wanted to. It's fairly shocking the amount of posters that come out of the woodwork after a bit of SP movement and try to ramp or de-ramp a share on LSE until the next RNS. Buy in speculation sell on news. I'll buy and nurse paper losses for decade+ if I have to, a company like this with modest outgoings will break even and grow sooner or later. True that money might have been better put elsewhere in that timeframe, but that is what having a diverse portfolio is all about.
I read elsewhere that someone had put £18k into their 2 child ISA just into 1 cryptocurrency miner. LOL. It is getting so ridiculous on LSE at the moment it might as well be Reddit. I don't know why people expect anyone to pay attention to them posting obvious BS.
100% customer retention rate...... In bed with the big boys...... AI technology revenue due to rise 25% year on year, over the next decade.....
When the stock market crashes, I believe this will be a good place to be... imo... dyor
For me this is a long term investment....
:)
I'm not surprised with the spead being ridiculously so high. And no information from the company. But I've realised this is normal.
