DDs are only debited if customers book
If no bookings no DDs to Dish
So why restaurants cancel if no cost to them?
Yes, on thinking about it I agree that the size of the discounts in irrelevant as the problem is that there is obviously no-one booking seats with some of these restaurants through Big Dish. That would be while they are canceling their DD's and leaving.
Why stay listed on an App that only has a few hundred restaurants on the platform and that no-one has heard of. Tastecard and Gourmet Society both have 6000+ restaurant partners, including all of the big chains, Table Now has 3000 restaurants and Open Table at least 10,000 every day. These are household names compared to Big Dish.
Also, they can stay listed with the discount card companies as they don't have to worry about paying them the booking fee as the customer/diner is footing the bill. Why worry about the odd customer turning up through Big Dish and then having to send them a payment for £1. Seems a bit silly.
I was looking at this the wrong way round. It isn't the lack of range of discounts that is the problem but the lack of exposure of the App and the probably small number of customers being generated. If these restaurants were seeing lots of customers and taking lots of extra revenue then they would not delist.
The pedestrian pace of the telesales outfit is not helping here.
Sorry Art, Aidan, for some reason my predictive text doesn't like it
https://www.bigdishplc.com/team/
His name is Aidan not Aiden Bishop.
That's what Aiden said Yesterday so I'm not too worried, complete overhaul, so restaurants will be moving around a bit, so harder to keep tabs on areas actual counts unless you have a note of individual restaurants
Maybe there still arranging locations
Hornchurch is in London
https://wildwoodrestaurants.co.uk/restaurants/all
There are 7 in Essex but only 4 are in Essex location and Loughton and Chelmsford have their own locations while Hornchurch hasn't been added yet.
"They'll be back" (dream on) like the Bristol restaurants - 40 signed and now just 8 (though monty keeps believing they are still around somewhere but then that's what Aidan told him once).
When the numbers here fell from 150 to 100 last year the restaurants didn't ever reappear. No, the only way the numbers got back to and passed 150 was with the addition of new restaurants.
Sorry Jsmith I was being a div, it was Chelmsford I noticed which is in Essex so a bit strange to also have it's own location, I think I made Brentwood up. Trying to do too many things at the same time apologies
Brentwood Wild wood now under Essex
Oh Brentwood gone that was quick
So they have Essex and Brentwood which is in Essex, with the same restaurants in it, I think that may need sorting soon.
Also may be a part of the disappearing restaurants if they are tidying them into there correct areas
I would predict about one year to 18 months to get to 3000 restaurants - but then we were never told that was the target as that was just the figure that Tom and his telesales team had achieved for Table Now.
The peak yesterday was 397. Then followed quite a few venues dropping off the app (they'll be back!)
The lowest I recorded was 382 yesterday pm. Compared to that level, I make the numbers for today:
Birmingham -1
Fareham, Leicester +1
London +4
New locations: Canterbury 1, Chelmsford 1, Crewe 1, Gerrards Cross 1, Kettering 1, Kingston upon Thames 1, Loughton 1, Maidstone 1, Market Harborough 1, Oakham 1, Stratford upon Avon 1, Winchester 1
+15 for the day
Total location count: 92
Total restaurant count: 399
I don't think it's lack of sales Art, I think it's time to upload them onto the app going by the figures from the rns they are working on a back log (not a bad situation) and are obviously prioritising the chains.
Taking off the 17 that have delisted that make 51 new additions for the week of which 52 were Wildwood and dim T. Telesales figures for the week are -1 (minus 1).
Roughly +16 for the day and -16 though the overall figure seems to have grown by 1 to 394 which are spread over 89 locations.
68 added for the week of which 52 are Wildwood and dim T
Dim Ts going live now in London
Art I emailed your suggestion yesterday regarding the Wildwoods chain, have its own position on the app.
Received a reply, as more chains join in the future the app will be modified so chains have its own section/ position on the app/website.
Early days still.
Monty i dont agree with you art 123 has valid points that must be looked at ...shares have many facts to consider its not right to look at the sunny side with out the dark side . cash is running out ,little talk of revenue, all the additions but no forecasts of profit
Art, you are becoming so boring with your endless drivel...give us all a break and do whatever you want to do in the non public space..who else agrees with me??
It's easy to see which ones want to leave. They have "No seats Available" even today.
Lesson 1: don't phone them or speak to them and they will stay on board for now.
Lesson 2: Bring in a bigger range of lower discounts and they they will be happy to offer seats again. Big Dish can charge a higher booking fee for the lower discounts.
Or just be a big-headed slob and let them go.
Aidan ultimately makes the decisions here and he's the one who has much to learn. If a restaurant wants to delist then Big Dish should speak to them and find out why. 99.9% will want to go because the discounts are too high. Big Dish should then have man to man chat and find out what discounts they are happy to give and facilitate some lower discounts. And obviously charge a higher booking fee. They cannot afford to let them go
*Never mind the 60 or so that have been added this week so far!*
Sounds like Art is having another panic attack because 6 restaurants have been delisted!
Never the 60 or so that have been added this week so far!
Its all going to be ok Art.....they will probably come back in day or two....just like Mr whites came back again...
