The tactics employed by P H are typical of brokers wanting to make some cash for themselves and some of their anonymous clients.
Wreck a companies share price by making a ludicrous price target that is well below the current share price. Issue a sell recommendation for that stock. Then give a nod and a wink to some of the anonymous clients to buy when the share price is depressed to a ridiculously low level.
That's what I reckon happened last week.
Carliol
This may have been discussed already but is there a link between the share price drop and the end of the 180 day lock up rather than just peel hunt? Could peel hunt be a distraction?
Along with Lending etc you are spot on with this. Minnows don't move mountains - the result of Peel Hunt's sell note had a disproportionate impact on Darktrace's SP. As you say it does not make sense. It is spooky at exactly the right time of year. I still think the Establishment would be happier if Dark had not been elevated to the FTSE 100 so quickly.
You are right as well that we owe Peel Hunt a vote of thanks. I had no intention of buying this last week but it was just too tempting! Easy money, for Dark share-watchers, if there is such a thing.
If one takes a who benefits view, for the motivation of Peel Hunt's note. Then one can take the link of the Peel Hunt employees and start to consider the whole episode from a different perspective. For example consider if, Jefferies clients have more likely benefitted from the drop in Dark price more than Peel Hunt's. Not possible for Jefferies to issue a sell note but do they know someone who could?
How come that relative minnow Peel Hunt, has managed to do so much short term disruption to the share price? Does not make sense. In the same way that Jefferies issued a note for GAMA @1550p whereas Peel Hunt 2225p last month. Many possibilities there. Including GAMA want more staff to participate in shareholding. A lower entry price would be beneficial. Or is a potential takeover being planned?
Keep an open mind, I bought more DARK this week alongwith most of you, no doubt. Long term holders should be thanking Peel Hunt or whoever managed this week. Was selling GAMA, as price was too high, though 1550p would be too low, price has stuck slightly above 1800p so far. As a low not unreasonable, did the Jefferies teaperson issue the note? Of course not, there was a reason though, there always is.
Good luck to all long term holders - though I don't expect many of you to have got this far.
Has anyone else thought that Damindu is almost an acronym for Diamond. It's a bit like solicitor is almost an acronym for ...... no let's not go there!
I would say it is almost impossible to prove fraud. They are publishing and circulating an opinion only.
And if all the Dark shareholders die in the pass defending freedom and democracy, their only comfort will be that those who live by the sword die by the sword!
How do I report fraud to the FCA?

Charles - never ask a conspiracy theorist whether there is a conspiracy, as there is always a conspiracy, life itself is a spiritual conspiracy!
It looks extremely suspicious - disenchanted former employees possibly with a chip on their shoulder, getting their own back on their former employer!
Whatever happened to business ethics, or concerns over the veracity of the information and recommendations that emanate from Peel Hunt! Some will see these people as the cancer within & certainly Peel Hunt is lucky that the crab-like progress of the SP, is currently keeping its investors on an even-keel, but for how long when the clowns have taken over the circus!
Half is generous :):)
Surely when DARK goes back to its real value its not going to look good on Peel hunter!
Definetely a name that I will say No before even know what is about. :) :)
Anyway everyone, this share went from 990 to 7.90 in September and recover to it's ATH.
Be positive and relax as we are going back up again.
Did they Float at the the end of September? Just in case they wanted to make a name for themselves!
