Morning all..
Had a chance to read Hardman Report end to end. Although we know a lot of the basics it was impressive to have it laid out in an organised manner. Prudent to produce a valuation of 38p on current known contracts and say conservative. That sets the first target price which I feel is doable soon.
If all our current contracts are sticky then I should think it not unreasonable to multiply 38p by 4 upon updates.
The Indian Government has already alerted manufacturers to prepare for rapid expansion so I should imagine meters are being stockpiled somewhere along the supply chain.
It will be interesting to see these £18m/30 CC jobs (UK) contracts that our Government refers to.

Well, you know the old saying, Inthetin, " There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong cloths." And the constitution to brave the storm, of course.
LTI.
Hi LTI
Thanks.
I say pub but I actually mean marquee in pub garden lunch. Weather forecast says heavy rain and a moderate breeze (100% chance of rain)). It won't stop the fun.
Have a good weekend.
ITT
Good morning all,
As I mentioned on Wednesday, the information on various initiatives was released by the Prime Ministers Office, on the UK/India Trade Deal. We, specifically as share-holders of CyanConnode, should wait for details to be released by CyanConnode via RNS, on any relevant new contracts.
Enjoy your pub lunch, Inthetin.
LTI.
Hi CB
Thanks.
The 'details' were released by Boris's office and, as we know, they are capable of getting their numbers a bit muddled.
First pub lunch tomorrow since lockdown in Wales was lifted. Heaven.
Cheers.
Certainly any substantial announcement should turn the markets head ITT.
I still don't get this trade deal info. though. An order worth £18 m should be easily handled by the staffing levels already present. Unless, it is outside of the standard requirements CC already offer.
You have a good one also. Hope it's as good as yesterday : ))
Hello ITT..
The good thing about the existing contracts in India is that they are possibly 500,000 units into say 4m units roughly in each Utility and so as long as we please them as with Indore then we will more than likely obtain further contracts up to X 8 that for their total coverage. Thailand contract will also more than likely expand dramatically.
We are bound to get more contracts with new Utilities so the 38p must be obtainable plus any new contracts.
Be interesting to see what contracts exist for the £18m UK deal.
DYOR
Hi CB
For now, I continue to buy because the general direction of the company appears positive. One way or another, the company's revenue is increasing. I appreciate that revenue from currently held contracts will eventually dry up and that they will need new bigger contracts to replace them to maintain momentum but they do seem to have a chance of doing that.
As far as the UK-India Trade Deal is concerned, I don't know how the £18M/30 UK jobs is worked out but I do like the fact that Cyan is one of the twenty companies in the whole of the UK to get a mention in the PM's announcement.
The company seems to be employing new staff in India and the UK, which strongly suggests that's there more work to be done.
I feel that something substantial will be announced that changes the way that Cyan is perceived by the market and I want to be around when it does. It might be quite a ride.
Have a fun weekend.
ITT
Afternoon Itt. This is another strange pattern for CC. The trade they will gain is listed at £18 million.
CC have not announced an order, as they would have to if one exists, yet they are in line for another 30 staff in Cambridge to cope with it.
None of it makes any sense..... again.
Well ITT, at my age I don't have to worry about pension plans, having drawn mine for 20+ years.
If CC gets taken over I think it will only be a company like Trilliant not a meter co.
If CC's stays independent beyond £1 I think it will then bound forward having been well established in India. I would like to see it get access to the other part of Thailand for a great expansion. The final optimum would be China but not heard much on that.
Off to Wilko's ,LOL
DYOR
Hi tonyj
I don't buy shares in individual companies too often - Cyan is a throwback to a time when I did.
For now, I'm liking my VCTs - the 30% safety net and enforced discipline (i.e. putting your money down and forgetting about the investment for 5 years).
I initially bought into Cyan quite a few years ago, thinking that it would be a good takeover bet. That's why I've pretty much given up stockpicking. I still think that's where we'll end up but I've given up guessing when.
Hi ITT, been watching Ceres myself, its taking a bashing. There is a lot of Automatic trades going on. You have to be very cleaver to make anything at present. Again this product is a new idea that has its follows but the doubters are mainly considering its viability commercially. Seen that all before but at present I think the MM's are toying. The price changes are very big.
Hi tonyj
Your Ceres gets another small mention in Shares Magazine today.
It's funny how Cyan never gets covered in any of these mags, as far as I know.
Keep buying them ITT, every little helps.
It was interesting Hardman placing a price of 38p on them.
If CC can keep all the Utilities it has already achieved in India and gets all of their customer base which seems to be the accepted thing (sticky), once in with no problems, that could eventually take us to £1. alone. If we progressed to achieved 20% of the 250m units in India that could take us way beyond £1. Again that's working on JC's previous figure of 1m units = £20m. That's based on existing contracts, JVVNL etc but all contracts are different.
Definitely a DYOR but looks pretty healthy.
Hi LTI
Yes. Trusting that it's an addition and not replacing a leaver.
Cash finally cleared, so able to add a few more earlier. Will continue to buy at this price, as spare spondoolies materialise.
Good morning Inthetin,
I was wondering how long it would be, before CyanConnode advertised for the required, qualified personnel. But good to see the opportunities opening up.
LTI.
I see that there's 1/30th of the newly created jobs (Senior Systems Engineer) advertised on Cyan's website.
Hi LTI.
Yes, I'm keeping very well thanks, and hope you are too. To be honest, Covid hasn't affected me too much, having moved to the Peak District a year ago so plenty to keep me occupied what with house stuff and the great outdoors. I've just missed our wonderful local pub and being able to make new friends, but things are looking up in that regard.
Conversely, as you say the situation in India is awful, and puts our investment concerns into perspective.
Thanks for your reply - glad to see I don't seem to have missed a significant order, and this is about the most positive news I've seen here for a very long time. As you point out, it could be spread out over many years, but still ...
Hi LTI
Thanks.
I've had a look at a few of the other companies on Boris's list and I can't find one that confirms the claims in the government's statement re new orders/jobs. Happy to be proved wrong.
I do think that news re order(s) will be come eventually.
Good morning Inthetin,
I think I read somewhere that this UK/India Trade Deal went up to 2030? So time-scales will be relevant. But the CyanConnode " Careers " page, may be worth keeping an eye on, from time to time.
LTI.
£18m deal vs current £13m market cap should provide a boost.
Good morning 2cv,
It is good to hear from you again, despite these difficult times ( Covid ) and I trust you are keeping well.
I agree. The " ..... deal announced today ..... " is very encouraging indeed, but we will have to wait for details from CyanConnode directly, rather than a press release from the Prime Ministers office. But some great news overall, concerning the UK-India Trade Deal, which we hope will benefit both countries.
But India especially, is going through a difficult period at the moment, with all the difficulties they are having. I am sure we all wish them well.
Keep in touch.
LTI.
Thanks LTI, it's great to see genuine positive news amongst plenty of speculation.
Given a deal worth £18m to Cyan is specifically mentioned in that UK Gov release, should we be getting an RNS ? Or does this relate to an earlier, already announced, order ?
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I confess I have taken my eye off the ball slightly.
Come on JC . Shut me up for a long time.
Hi LTI
Thanks for that.
If true, doesn't that increase Cyan's employee numbers by 50%?
