LTI, for CC to be embedded in a meter at production, does that manufacturer need a physical unit from CC?

Hello CB,
In answer to your 11:13 post, yes you are missing something. But I am sure you can sort it out, by yourself. Given time.
LTI.
As of a few months ago UK investors presentation CC had "Deployed 1.04m electricity meters and streets lights to date across approximately 20 customers globally".
I wonder if this number includes the 700,000 units deployed by Connode in Scandinavia pre buy out.
I will have to ignore you tonlie, you truly have no idea.
Good morning LTI. We are talking about EESL and a 3 million meter contract bid. To that you state......
'That is as I/we understand it. That CyanConnode are embedded in all three electric meter manufacturers meters.'
Am I missing something?
Good morning CB,
Who mentioned " ...... that CC will have supplied 3 million units to embedded meters from various manufacturers ..... "
If you read my post from 10:34, you will see that I noted:- " But it will depend on any RF contribution to the project, that will determine CyanConnodes overall interest."
There will hopefully be an RF contribution, which I do not think there was in the original tender. But the qualifications for tender involvement have changed recently. We have yet to find out just how much.
LTI.
Well Colour you have done it again. Pick on something that has no proof and we are talking about as possible in part or total may be. There is no optimism in you about CC, so why stay on this BB, coming over as a looser.
What do you think of Indore and their expansion intentions and the 430,000 order from JVVNL.
What about Thailand, no you do not want to know. These Utilities are making money at long last and happy.
Just look at negatives, DYOR
Can you provide some absolute proof that CC will have supplied 3 million units to embed in meters from various manufacturers in the hope that they might need CC Comms. Until I see it, I will hold the line that LTI and tonlie have no clue what they are on about. Over to you gents.
Good morning tonyj and all,
That is as I/we understand it. That CyanConnode are embedded in all three electric meter manufacturers meters. But it will depend on any RF contribution to the project, that will determine CyanConnodes overall interest. So we will have to wait and see where this development and new protocols takes us, as a Company and as share-holders.
But it also says in the report:-
" ...... Indias new public procurement rule-book for compulsory purchase preference to local suppliers, the firms eligible to participate in the snap bid called by EESL for supplying 3 million meters, include Genus Power Infrastructure Ltd., Larsen and Toubro and HPL Electric and Power Ltd."
There may also be " ...... other local suppliers ....... " that qualify, other than the 3 mentioned, but are not readily globally recognized.
LTI.
Well Colour you may be right but equally you may be wrong. What were Hexing supplying. Look at the successful Indore and the large order from JVVNL. Who knows what EESL will go for under pressure, we will know with the snap bid.
At present Indore is very happy, making money and anxious to expand, not many can say that. Exactly what all the utilities/states want. I think CC is doing very well there and it was a Government showcase.
I think EESL must at this time be giving lots of thought into getting things done and pleasing the Government. Nothing worse than having a Minister on your tail.
DYOR
As far as these volume orders go, it is irrelevant to CC. They will be using GPRS only.
It will be interesting to see how 'snappy' EESL's snap bid for 3 million meters actually is.
That will be interesting LTI, as I understand we are embedded in all 3 company's meters. As the majors at least one or possibly all 3 will get it looking at further production.
DYOR
Huawei the future clearing path for a spin of wheel good read.
......... India to now encash Chinese smart electricity meter firm PT Hexing' bank guarantee.
http://livemint.com/industry/energy/india-to-now-encash-chinese-smart-electricity-meter-firm-pt-hexing-bank-gaurantee-11597148949409.html
From the report:-
" After PT Hexing's disqualification and India's new procurement rule book for compulsory purchase preference to local suppliers, the firms eligible to participate in the snap bid called by EESL, for supplying 3 million meters include, Genus Power Infrastructure Ltd., Larsen&Toubro and HPL Electric and Power Ltd."
Very interesting.
LTI.
