' I suppose the saving grace for CC is that they were not in USA. '
I have no words other than WTF are you on about!
Thanks for that Colour, I have found Smart Energy International is a reliable source and reported on CC over the years. Although I have not heard of Inst Electrical Innovation. I will look it up.
You found your USA 107m meters installed but does not say over how many years, they say 8 million last year and further 117m 2021. Does that mean 217m do you think. At 75% they only need 142m in total to cover the whole country.
Of course that will mean the whole of USA is a closed book to Smart, done and dusted and no updates wanted. I suppose the saving grace for CC is that they were not in USA.
Acknowledging your 100m for USA would they not have been flashing their success around the globe considering the competition.
DYOR
For someone who says DYOR all the time, you never seem to find much.
https://www.smart-energy.com/industry-sectors/smart-meters/75-of-us-households-have-smart-meters-report/
Colour, yes you do have to be careful because a company has to be declare insolvent but that is your headache.
Back to India, so now we have it, big companies, small companies are all struggling, so why pick on CC.
Finally USA, don't often get pedantic but you saying there are over 100 million smart electric meters already installed there. Are you sure.
DYOR
I really don't know how many more times you need to hear that India have not started a SM rollout. Most other nations have, JC called it wrong, again. Insolvent meaning from Cambridge dictionary - (especially of a company) not having enough money to pay debts, buy goods, etc. Now, please tell me , I need to be careful using the word insolvent because?
Hello Colour. Use whatever words you like but update jake. As you say updates/upgrades are happening all the time.
However do be careful using the word 'Insolvent'.
You have knocked CC so many times re India. Are you saying all the other companies are doing very well with orders and of course installations in this 8 months window. Can you list them and locations in India, that would be pretty fantastic considering India's medical problems.
DYOR
tonyj, there's over 100 million in the US alone. They work, no need to upgrade, and no need for CC to save the day. Believe it or not there are many other countries across the globe, other than India. Most are well advanced in their SM rollouts, none call for the comms solution of an insolvent English company. Tomorrow is the 8 month day since CC's MD & CEO where placed in India. 8 months of absolutely nothing. Covid will be the reason, then the elections, then maybe a realisation that the sales method isn't working . By then, the market has moved and they are demanding new tech after not buying the old. JC gets the bucket out, and the rest is history. Apologies for using the 'history' word, I know it grates. You and dweeb have a nice day now : )
Morning jake.. You should read what you and Colour say first. The 100's of millions was a follow on from Colour's statement a couple of Posts back. I was inferring that not all installs were of brand new origins. I seem to remember that America had meters catching fire and had to update and I believe Finland/Sweden have updated. Nothing stands still.
Well it was not a typo, you were quoting my response to Colours !00's of millions. Don't pick the bits you fancy.
I think you need to get up to date re SMETS1, this has already been said publicly a solution H2/21. It was also said earlier that SMETS1 installment incentive stopped April last year and a few years back that SMETS2 were said to be about half the price of SMETS1. The 14m installs of SMETS1 were more likely the ones they could get in fast with no problems so probably their 'Notpsots' are still outstanding. My money says SMETS2 will continue, also none of this affects CC as they are only dealing with 'Notspots', so could have SMETS1 and 2 'Notspots' when the rush is over to get the easy ones in.
The few more shares on a drop I would say is neutral, even though we all take advantage it is not exactly a positive.
I am coming to the conclusion that you may have had knowledge of this industry in the past but you are no longer up to date. I look at the way BOD's work and think, the product is there (Colour may not think so) and it is what the BOD do with it. JC has picked a real challenge in the India area but I feel we are about to break out after all this time.
Only my thoughts, DYOR.
"Tony I was referring to your Fri 1412 post
I do not think you are quite with this play Colour. This is AIM if you are lucky you make a much bigger profit. Cyan was always going to be small in this market. !00's of millions of installs around the world of which many are now out of date and need upgrading, you are talking of a different era."
I have already said I thought it was a typo by you and have corrected that. Are you saying Colour is saying everything is in need of replacement and update!?
I have recently changed my energy supplier. I asked every single one regards the monitoring of my existing smart meter. Without exception every one of them told me a software solution was being developed the Smets 1. Now they could be lying, although I don't see why, plus if you DYOR that seems to be something that is going on in the background. You now say "Several areas around the world are on second generation." So not failing just on second generation. I have a smets 1 meter that communicates currently so the Comms must be operational. The issue is no doubt with the Head End software which in my experience of software system can be overcome.
Confirm if you can where all these meters are failing and need replacement or except you are being a bit generous with the facts.
Not sure where I was being negative in my post,I did say I had used the opportunity to make a bit more profit and GAIN a few more shares on the recent drop.
If you think that's negative it really must be 3 o'clock and nobody home in your world .
That is funny jake. don't try to change the wording. Colour said 100's of millions.
You never query him do you, like Colour name everyone of those 100's of millions.
Several areas around the world are on second generation.
You know it, I know it. America for instance. I am not going down Colour's 'name that tune'.
Please do not hesitate to say anything in CC favour. You try to say you are nuetral but nearly always negative.
I must try to stick to 2 posts, not to offend dwall. We must be close to an update on Intellismart.
DYOR
To be clear tonyj , I was referring to your !00 millions post which I assumed was a typo. You could have meant 100m 500m who knows? Where are all these meters that need upgrading?
Incidentally not getting cold feet you know my position. Made a little more while this has been dropping, and a few more trading shares, are you getting it yet? So come on Tony which meters ned upgrading and why? I'm interested.
See what you have done Colour, you started 100's of millions, LOL
Smart meters have been around for some time now and I think the French ones were being updated.
Early American ones had fire ignition problems.
As jake is getting edgy again perhaps you could list these 100's of miilions of installations so that we can see which are new and totally up to date and which are upgrades. jake can then relax. UK, remember SMETS1 (14m) only scraped through by reengineering at DCC taking several years.
Like it or not CC, a small company by comparison has 1m India orders active and more to come.
Be nice if jake gave information himself rather than belatedly supporting your constant anti CC negatives.
DYOR
Got it in one Colour .Not bothering to post much now. The misinformation on here is getting worse. It's one thing having an opinion or being mistaken, another posting stuff that's clearly inaccurate. Off for a few days now for a break, have a great weekend all.
None jake. Most have been completed recently, tonyj clearly doesn't get out much. Over 3 million in UK last year alone, CC inside errrr none. Obviously the 30 odd million in France recently completed must have failing comms tech all over them, if only they had an insolvent supplier to hand.
I would like to know in what countries of the world"100's of millions of installs around the world of which many are now out of date and need upgrading"
