To be honest I would like to have seen a return and initially was expecting a large return. Again this was a sideline for me away from the main Exchanges and I knew in advance what AIM was like. I never normally average but once I saw irritating problems like governments intervening I had to decide to go or stay.
The product has remained to be good, then added IPv6, then Omni and further improvements came along. Omni was well received in Indore and looks like Mysore will upgrade. I also wonder if UK upgraded to Omni.
Anyway my average is good so I can sit it out.
DYOR
So, a business model that works on recurring revenue from a growing install base is what you have invested in, and you have no issue with 2 thirds disappearing in 3 years. Amazing.
Once again Colour, don't keep going over the past. Decisions like Iran are made at the time and could have been massively fruitful until Trump got uppy.
Forget your past losses if you sold off and concentrate like newbies on what you can achieve from a starting point of 2p.
That is a good AIM price to speculate from with UK still there but possible slight delay, Indore expanding, Mysore expanding, Thailand expanding, Bangladesh who knows but very hopeful.
Don't keep making people look back, that's your loss not theirs, I think CC has a good product in Omni (you don't) and if it has all the functions that JC quotes will do very well. Only my opinion.
Indore we know is very happy, now just got to see what JST can produce out of Thailand, I think he know's his business.
I feel upbeat but all DYOR it's your money.
tonyj, a bit more for you to DYO. See if you can find out why CC had over 3 million units deployed in 2017 and little over 1 million now.
BST
Of course it was not a contract win, it was a takeover. May be paid a bit over the top but it was a fortunate time for Cyan in Mumbai as the opposition were using Connode and IPv6 was needed.
The UK installation is underwritten by our Government, that is if we have any left over after Virus, I think it is not the getting of contracts in middle east but getting the money from cash strapped Utilities that is important. However I should imagine JC has that all in hand.
DYOR
This wasn't even a contract win, they paid over the odds for it. Everything this company touches turns to shot. All but a couple have worked that out now.
Colour re 22:36 it is a shame that you keep coming out with these childish comments in the hope of souring it for CC.
Investors will make their decisions on facts and may just see following their DYOR that CC is viable and at this stage is good value with possible upside.
AIM is a regulated Exchange so to expect JC to keep coming out with comments off the cuff is a bit naive.
The NOMAD is there to control these matters and not much unsubstantiated information can be entertained.
But you should know all that, if not do your homework.
All DYOR.
Yes B.B following Vas's concerns I looked at the other possibilities and there seemed to be no with HAT1 and HAT2 once they started going in. I came to the conclusion that it was referring to Zigbee which provides the in-house information to these home monitors, and other items, where you read what you are using. Zigbee runs on 2.4 and I think the new band will likely be 868, which my Yale burglar runs on and very good.
The other matter of completing easy to do meter conversions first can only go so far as the government stated it wanted connections done in a timely first come manner with few exceptions.
These are my thoughts DYOR.
I’m not clear if the DCC is referring to the dual-band HAN (Zigbee which communicates with the in home display and gas meter), or the dual-band WAN (RF Mesh which communicates with another meter which has a cellular connection to the DCC).
5.1.3 Dual-Band Communications Hubs
Dual-Band Communications Hubs will bring an additional 25% of properties in Great Britain within the scope of the smart metering programme, extending the coverage and benefits to approximately 95%1 of all GB premises. They have the capability to overcome some of the physical challenges which are holding back the smart meter roll-out, such as weaker signal strength in buildings with thick walls or in a block of flats where the meter is at the other end of the building and potentially out of range.
Dual-Band Communications Hubs will improve the installation process, cutting out the need for abortive assessment visits and reducing the number of failed installations caused by the limitations of Single-Band Communications Hubs.
In recent months, we have made good progress in the key test phases and validation of the new hubs to identify and resolve any design defects prior to launch, which is currently on schedule for the end of 2020, subject to completion of any further testing and subsequent approvals.
Following launch, we will look to refine and improve this capability further in line with the agreed Smart Energy Code (SEC) release schedule. We will also ensure that this aligns with our wider activity under the Network Evolution Programme (see Section 5.2).
JC got mugged yet again, who'd have thought it.
What is really annoying is that out of all the contract wins throughout the world, and over the years and even more recently - The UK SMIP contract that was / is the only one that had any certainty attached to it ! And from what i can see now, as far as what CC are providing, this has been kicked down the road for maybe another two or three years before any significant income appears.
The duel hub will probably used as a last measure, after several years of converting the easy fruit , so to hit the targets.
Thanks Vas, JC is consistent we have to give him that. Also, the famous 'Not Spots' are getting fewer by the day, this contract could be worthless before we know it.
See what response CC give tonyj, tell them you are DYOR lol.
This explains the comments in the last set of CyanConnode Interims . Remember the new rollout target dates for uK are 2020 -2024.
"The roll out of SMETS2 meters commenced in Q4 2018 and CyanConnode believes that, for ease of rapid deployment, installers are initially targeting installations of SMETS2 meters in densely populated areas that have a reliable cellular signal. CyanConnode believes that the installation of RF Hubs will gain momentum during later stages of the rollout.
Under its SMIP contract, CyanConnode calculates that 2.3 million Toshiba RF Hubs will eventually connect to the DCC secure network, and it is now beginning to see a small amount of revenue from those connections. However, as CyanConnode's SMIP contract is still at a relatively early stage, it is still not possible for the Company to confirm whether its revenue forecasts from the SMIP contract are accurate.
Heres is the link

According to the Draft DCC Business and Development Plan published on the 15th May 2020. The duel Hub smart meters for the SMIP are now not likely to be launched until early next year (2021).

I'm confused, as wasn't Connode paid in advance for the first 500,000 units as part of the original dal. Therefore, Cyanconnode we will have to wait until these units have been deployed and activated before CC payments begin. I thought they had already began installing these units already. Apparently not ?
Again Colour you have wimped out, you only have to give JC a ring and he will tell you all you want know or may be don't want to know.
I think that we will hear good news over the coming months but that is just me.
We only have to reach the magic 500k units to be on the way. The Thailand was 250k units admittedly stretched over more than a year. Then we have my favourite, Indore and Mysore, who are just getting on with it and profiting.
After all this time Colour sit back and wait, that's if you still have shares.
DYOR all.
So, after all this time, CC still have no idea what the revenue level will look like on UK SMIP.
It's going the same way as every other contract, except it cost over £6 million to 'buy it' from another failure in the field.
Well Colour last you spoke to JC I think you got a good answer, why don't you try again.
As you say DYOR.
I think we are still doing well in India, Thailand etc. Different states in India have their own requirements so as long as CC gets a good percentage say 20% a lot of which could be exclusive, not just supply, we could do very well, just one country (big though). Based on number of shares we should head toward 100p.
I like to give you something to talk about.
All DYOR.
CC must have confirmed the monetary level of the contract then. They seemed to be struggling to work it out last I heard. Why not post it here, give us one accurate fact for once?
Hello Colour, the milky bars are on you.
I have made my enquiries and the gas meter element you are quoting without any indepth knowledge to the detriment of CC and which can go all over UK i.e. Scotland does not impact on CC's contract at all.
DYOR.
LOL !!
Don't know what you have heard Colour.. I did recently recommend to Capita that they restart Smart without gas. My reasoning is electric meters are literally Tails reconnected whilst Gas as I understand it is an engineering job followed by Gas Safety checks which I believe requires a safety check througout the building.
I would not have thought that was listened to.

Anyone got anything worth knowing about SMIP concerning SMETS2 Gas meters. I thought this contract was sorted and nailed down years ago.
