Guy Meyer, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Catenae, said: "I am particularly pleased to announce that the Cov-ID app is now market ready, well ahead of schedule. We are receiving enquiries about the app and are in discussions about local and international sales opportunities. The Company looks forward to informing the market of further developments."
Guy Meyer, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Catenae, said: "We are pleased to have entered into this pilot agreement with Afrik-ID as we see potential for the use of our technologies across the wider SADC region, a community comprising of 16 member states with a combined population of over 345 million people, especially as it is seen that Africa is a highly mobile enabled continent.
"We have every confidence in the leadership team at Afrik-ID. Having worked with them over the last few months scoping this pilot we have obtained insight into the scale of the challenges that the region faces, most latterly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the associated opportunities.
"The Company looks forward to informing the market of further developments with regards the Afrik-ID commercial pilot."
David Newman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Afrik-ID said:
"Our team at Afrik-ID is delighted to be working in collaboration with Catenae to provide digital technology solutions for the challenges that hamper the safe, efficient and transparent movement of people and goods within and beyond our Southern African region."
It will also allow people to identify symptoms and order tests if needed and provide support if they go into self-isolation. Those using the app will receive an alert if they have been close to someone who has been diagnosed with coronavirus. The team behind the app is also working to deliver medical test results though that won’t be available next week.
There are concerns a second coronavirus would be twice as bad and the UK government has stepped up measures for local lockdowns, with Preston thought to be next.
Contact tracing apps are a helpful tool to prevent the spread of the virus but it needs to ensure people are actually using it to report symptoms otherwise it isn’t possible to alert others who have come into contact with them.
Now it appears there could be a limited roll-out of the new contact tracing app as soon as next week, according to the BBC. The app uses the Apple-Google API so it will be able to detect other smartphones, including a feature which could alert people when they’ve been within 2m of another person for more than 15 minutes, as well as allow people to scan QR codes to log when they visit a particular establishment.
After initial launches, delays and setbacks, a new version of England’s coronavirus contact tracing app could be up and running in the next few days.
The initial test-and-trace app was first tested in the Isle of Wight earlier this year but was beset by technical issues which meant it wasn’t ready for a nationwide launch on May 28.
Part of this was down to the fact the app worked on a centralised model, which would give the UK government information on who came into contact with whom and where. In addition, this centralised model wasn’t using the Apple-Google API, established by the two tech giants to allow their respective phone software to work in tandem with one another — without this tech, it would be harder for an iPhone and an Android phone to record that they had been in close proximity with one another which would affect the efficiency of the model.
Not too interested in rumours...Need a RNS that proves they behind part or all of the new App with some kind of revenue stream !!

IMHO DYOR GLA
We have been here for a long time waiting patiently ,after all this time it would be a shame to sell and not see it through! So I will make big or die with CTEA lol
More buys today - some of the big buys- as commercial news is on the way and too cheap at the moment.
People taking positions now whilst it’s cheap - with each BUY - MM’s raising the ASK - bodes well for a sharp rerate here.
News on sales Monday imho
IMHO DYOR GLA
Would imagine a very leaky ship if gov involvement.
Not really sure how it gets launched and in what order ...
But for sure if we do get a RNS for involvement then we will get blast off at long last with over 5 weeks without news !!!
I imagine the government would announce it outside of trading hours and then CTEA would RNS is the next day
wouldn't ctea have to announce it first via RNS ?
All will be found out when the gov release it and who is behind it !!!
Fingers and toes crossed CTEA has there ginger in the pie - GLA
no mention or hints regarding ctea

Interesting little snippet in the article about team working on delivering medical results as well which I dont recall on the gov website.
Higgs knows the blockchain game and have bought big in CTEA. They’ve obviously seen something they like.
New director reward scheme only begins paying when 10p is held for over two weeks and then increments up to 50p! Would be meaningless for the Directors unless these targets were achievable.
The product works and is vital to our return to something near normality. News next week for me.
I’m very confident when the next RNS lands this will shoot up very very quickly as it has done in the past.
Which is why I just topped up, which in turn raised my average.
But we only need one contract with either the COV-ID or the HospitalityID And this will go. Both would be nice tho :)
GLA!
I wonder if the Higgs will buy more to average down
The longer the news drought the more bored people get.
I have been on here since buying in at 2.9 but I top up at 6.5and again at 7 now I need 5 to break even but I’m still very optimistic. I figure if they were in a bad way then they would feed us silly RNS to keep us here? My opinion is that something good will come out soon so I’m not selling. Remember if it’s big I takes time to seal the deal
We all know that the SP here flies quickly. I’ve said before I think the quiet bodes well as they’re not stringing PIs along with flimsy updates. They wanna hit the market with something material. A big positive for me.
You do just wonder whats been happening the last 5 weeks .
In the last proactive interview guy seemed to have interest from everywhere including globally? He could barely contain himself! I carnt believe it will come to nothing well I hope not! I got 30k in at around 6p so am doing my nuts in fact I cannot sell would just lose to much.
I just hope we hear very good very big news soon ?? ??
I've added this morning, the continual hints towards the hospitality sector from Guy are indicative of their next announcement in my opinion
