How did they get it so wrong ?????? Three contractors are asked to bid to refurbish the fence at 10 Downing Street. One contractor is from Birmingham, another is from Liverpool, and the third is from London. All three meet with a civil servant in Downing Street. The Brummie contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures and says, "I figure the job will run about 900. 400 for materials, 400 for my crew, and 100 profit for me." The Scouse contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says. "I can do this job for 700. 300 for materials, 200 for my crew, and 200 profit for me." The bloke from London doesn't bother to do any measuring or calculations; he just leans over to the civil servant and whispers, "I'll do it for 2,700." The civil servant is understandably incredulous, and says, "You didn't even measure like the others ! How did you come up with such a high estimate ?" The London bloke whispers back, 1000 for me, 1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Liverpool to do the job." "Done!" replies the civil servant. Now do you see how Carillion went under, leaving the taxpayer with the bills ?
EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE YOUR MONEY HAS GONE YOU ONCE OWNED THE COMPANY BUT NOW IT HAS FLOWN. UP UP INTO THE ETHER WHERE THE AIR IS SO RARE, YOU'LL BE LUCKY IF YOU GET JUST A PENNEY A SHARE. THE DIRECTORS HAVE PARKED YOUR MONEY OFF-SHORE, THEY'LL NOT BE WORRIED IF YOU CRY OUT FOR MORE. IT'S WARM AND SUNNY IN THE ISLE OF MANN, THEY'LL BE FIGURING OUT WHO NEXT THEY CAN SCAM.
NOBODY KNOWS WHERE MY MONEY HAS GONE BUT THE DIRECTORS LEFT THE SAME TIME. WHY ARE THEY HOLDING MY CASH WHEN ITS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE. ITS MY PARTY AND I'LL CRY IF I WANT TO CRY IF I WANT TO; CRY IF I WANT TO. YOU WOULD CRY TO IF IT HAPPENED TO YOU!
I have accepted the loss. The bankers, govt policy makers they are all birds of same colour that flocks together, dine and wine together to take the biggest reward for the collapse at the expense of ordinary share holder.. Moral free greed infused capitalism.
LSE39-Presumably the 5200 showing on your Halifax statement is the price you paid for the shares. As Carillion is now bankrupt the shares are worthless.Unfortunately ,harsh as it may seem you have lost the lot.
Very unlikely you will see a penny of it. The directors have made off with millions and scammed the share holders.
I bought at 16p-17p of CLLN share. in my Halifax account statement it shows 5200. as the company has gone into administration I accepted the fact that I have lost the money. CLLN sent a notification stating the situation but mentioned the remaining value will remain in the account. My question is am I likely to get any value for the remaining share or at some point it will show as zero value? Can anyone answer pls? lessions learnt on how corrupted the directors and govt ministers can be. I thought govt will get bank to lend to improve the cashflow for short term.
this was the letter I got it sounds standard letter I am going to the ombudsman service as there have got 25 days to respond to a complaint message from Equiniti Sale of Carillion Shares -12 January as you may have read in the press, Carillion PLC went into Liquidation on Monday and trading in the stock was suspended. This has also prevented the settlement of trades which were made on the 12 January which were due to settle on Tuesday. So we have not received the proceeds of the sale from the market. As we had in accordance with our standard procedure, added the sale proceeds to your cash balance and auto-settled trade on your account, we are now, removing the sale proceeds from your cash account pending clarification from CREST/the Liquidator. This is a very unusual situation for the market and we hope it will be resolved very quickly. we will of course advise you of any further development if I have any queries please contact customer services.
It was a letter from Equiniti in response to my official complaint
where have this info come from Letter from Equiniti about the investigation I like a lot more sold out on the Friday I was paid my Equiniti only to have the money to be taken out of my account I thing it will be the liquidator holding the purse strings
Letter from Equiniti about the investigation. Seems the trades executed on Friday were settled by CREST but the money was not handed over from CREST to Equiniti. PWC are supposed to instruct CREST to hand over the cash but they havent. Equiniti cannot pay us as that would mean handing over money that belongs to some other customer. Not sure where to go next
PWC have awarded BGIS (A Canadian company) CLLNs British contracts, as we're going through Brexit, is this British business at its best, please advise!
Them Canuck's are lucky. They have a well ordered system like Yanks chapter 11.Fairfax secured the FM for guess what an undisclosed fig and 4500 employees smoothly transfer over. https://www.therecord.com/news-story/8111289-fairfax-acquires-carillion-canada-assets/.
Ha ha the poor Canadian employees have a chance for a new career now!?
I didn't want to be a Carillion shareholder,i wanted to be a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZa26_esLBE
Thanks, could have been in talks before it went down? Surely PWC have to disclose what they get in so all creditors know!?
http://www.globalconstructionreview.com/news/we-did-pay-carillion-qatari-developer-hits-back/
At the speed of which Pwc are getting rid of it,it must be a fire sale at cheap prices.Pwc want this out the way as soon as possible so they can pick up their fees. I see Qataris are saying they did pay Carillion,so did 18 months of payments get hidden some how? https://www.newcivilengineer.com/business-culture/qatari-developers-challenge-carillion-boss-evidence/10027988.article
Does anyone about the above? How can it have been sold for an undisclosed sum!?
Anybody, Rosewall asked the question. It was me who pointed out that shares of no value did not have to be returned. Unlike you I have no sympathy with the lender. The lender is often a pension fund or an investment trust, lending shares that they are holding for their investors. These shares do not belong to the fund, they belong to their customers. It is they who will take the loss, not the pension, or investment fund. The fund managers will, I expect still get their bonuses, paid for from the money they charged the hedge fund to borrow the shares. The pension and investment funds know that shorting is likely to drive down the value of the loaned shares. They are gambling with our money every time they lend shares to the hedge fund sharks.
Snige;I wouldn't hold your breath:Shareholders are way down the pecking order, after unsecured creditors, pension fund deficit and HMC.I doubt that there will be enough for pay in lieu of notice and redundancy payments, and the government will be liable for this. After the liquidators have had their fill I doubt that there will be anything at all left. It's a hard old world when this happens, everyone gets burned.
kenj.-Rosewall has hit the nail on the head.=That is exactly the situation.,unfair as it is on the lender, who could have sold the shares if he still had possession of them before the crash. Now he has lost the lot with no possibility of redress.
Barclays have just told me the same thing regarding my suspended shares and that we may get compensated depending on what the outcome is
Just spoke with barclays as im coming to the end of moving accounts and isa etc to Hl, i think they are getting a lot of calls regarding compensation for clln share holders lol, i was just enquiring as my sipp is closing but i have clln shares in there suspended so wondered what happens.... i have a feeling we might get a little something back ! We will find out in a few years no doubt haha
4 weeks into winding down and the fig's are starting to come in. "Meanwhile the Government has revealed that it has already spent 150m on financing the wind down of Carillion". I would imagine this fig is up till 2nd Feb or just 3 weeks so their spend is 50m a week compared to carillions plan of 20m. Redundancies now approaching 1000 and parts of the business being sold off for undisclosed amounts-looking good!!
