So it is Plumber95! Brilliant if Netflix is showing big films in cinamas on the big screen! Love it, not horrors though haha.
https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-box-office-forecast-halloween-kills/
It’s on this list down at the bottom off the page
Don’t Look Up
Genre: Comedy | Director: Adam McKay
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Timothee Chamalet, Ron Perlman, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep
If the Netflix thing is true this film will be coming to cinemas on the 10th of December, I’ve seen it on the box office list but thought nothing off it now putting 2 and 2 together. This film would do big numbers in the box office check the cast!
I read that too Plumber95 :-) all going in a positive direction.
26th December mooky accuses netflix of crushing box office revenues

Yet less the 2 years later wants to work alongside them, as mentioned I'd be amazed if discussions haven't already taken place , otherwise why big up a competitor
Could be wrong but I’m sure I read a few weeks ago Netflix were looking at releasing the bigger films into cinemas
Nice one bomdog and Jimmyvill , I wonder when mooky said his solution would be to use netflix in his cinemas and then give them a compliment by saying he respects the product means discussions have already taken place in the background.
It's unusual for him to talk about streaming that way and in particular netflix considering there is history between the 2 companys. Very intresting paragraph
“These are not numbers we can’t deal with,” says Greidinger of the debt pile. “We need to remember that Cineworld in 2019 had an ebitda of over $1 billion. So once we are back there and higher, we will deal with the debt.”
Fantastic news, and it shows that interest payments are not a problem for us at the moment. In addition to that, Mooky looks like he wants to reduce the debt pile as well, which will further reduce our interest payments in the future. Fantastic news imo. I think it’s time for me to top up even more imo.
Thanks JimmyVill
Here’s a snippet for those who can’t view the article:
“These are not numbers we can’t deal with,” says Greidinger of the debt pile. “We need to remember that Cineworld in 2019 had an ebitda of over $1 billion. So once we are back there and higher, we will deal with the debt.”
For shareholders, this relentless optimism is comforting, but can infuriate. A top 10 investor said Greidinger “never admits defeat” but is “always positive”.
This steeliness feeds through to his negotiations with business partners. Rich Gelfond, chief executive of IMAX, said Greidinger was viewed with “respect and fear”. While Greidinger was “motivated by money”, it was not his “prime motivator”, Gelfond said.
For Greidinger, a focus will be navigating his business in an industry that is competing with online giants such as Netflix and Amazon. His solution? Screen Netflix output in his cinemas. “I respect the product. Some of the movies deserve a big theatrical release.”
Greidinger gave his managers in Las Vegas last month a reassuring history lesson. He shares it again: blockbusters such as The 10 Commandments saved cinema when families began buying black and white TVs en masse. Then, when the colour TV arrived, The Sound of Music drew crowds back. Titanic arrived in the DVD era. “We will be taken out of Covid by James Bond and the Marvel movies and Top Gun,” he says. “There have been bumps along the way. But we’re on the way back.”
Thanks JimmyVill, I got a small read of it before the paywall came, but the link is here for those that would like to see it :)

If Netflix did go through a theatrical release route, it would be fantastic for all involved. Netflix would make more money, and cineworld would too. Only small problem there may be is that Netflix putting their films on the big screen would contradict their business model and their product lol, but nevertheless it would be a fantastic opportunity for us. Maybe Mooky is reaching out to them for an opportunity or something hopefully :)
Good article on Cineworld and Mooky in the Sunday Times today
