You best get them shorts covered.. next week will be interesting
I don't doubt it will go up, otherwise i would have sold and walked away at 60p. VOD will never be as big as its made out, unless we end up with a world where everyone is afraid to go out and just sit in a chair 24/7 plugged into the mains, matrix style.
TomBlade, hang around for couple years and there is more than a fair chance the price will indeed be up.
Maybe the AMC management are not as smart, I am not into second guessing.
Any number of reasons I am sure. Come 21 September we will have Cineworld report and have a clearer idea of why they made choice they did. Not invested in AMC so not concerned with their choices.
Very true Fun, it's the most likely reason. An intentional move, he can paint a better picture when he has US reopening and attendance figures for Tenet.
Why wouldn't AMC have delayed and done that then? (not trying to sound negative btw, i just want to see the price go up)
I would imagine it's as simple as then being able to report forward statement with circa a month of majority of their theatres open worldwide. That is a critical piece of information and can completely change the perspective of the accounts report released compared to a report with almost no forward visibility and most theatres closed.
The sp is clearly not worth £1.80 with the risk as it is, don't be a tube
Maybe they'll announce the take over offer from a Chinese conglomerate who knows. Lol
Either way I don't think he's hiding from bad news, more that he wants something to fall in place first.
I'm struggling to see why though. Any news now would surely push the price up and build some confidence (as with AMC) unless its really bad. They could put a positive spin on it now, which would be better than AMC's position (we are already open in certain countries etc). Delaying the results to be certain of US opening would make sense, or to see initial take up once open in the US, but its further out than that. There's obviously a reason for the delay, just seems a strange tactic to me. Although alot of the time the sp seems to move in the opposite directions to what the info suggest anyway!
*going to be
I thought about this Tom and the only reason for Mookey to delay is if there is going to something happening between now and then that's going to make a difference. Be it as simple as the US reopening making the forward looking statement look better or perhaps he has something up his sleeve. Either way, the delay is definitely deliberate.
First time post. Been reading the board over the last few months and have a fair value of shares at 45p average (wanting to add more). The only reason i can see why the Cine sp doesn't mirror AMC sp (ratio to pre covid %), and why its not rising quickly is that they haven't released the QTR results, which would give some certainty of where the business is at. I don't get what the delay is achieving, any ideas?
