"No worries I know what the RMS means but again why did you not close the short?
Forget the immediate reaction as that’s irrelevant I am confused"
boix, the market has reacted strongly to the lock down news. Many companies have been hit with investors fear (rational or irrational) of the second lock down and this is reflected in the FTSE taking a big hit. The RNS news is part of the reason that CINE has taken a slightly bigger hit than others. A lock down makes the matter worse for the entertainment industry and I didn't think it right last week to immediately close the position as I saw some money could be made at a small risk.
@johnht - why would i report someone for just posting drivel ?! Got better things to do and its not reading 80+ posts.
Sometimes being to too smooth is the give away but some might miss it
Chartz, if you find the number of posts too much, then please let the lse admin here know. If you find anything abusive then report it.
I would give that advice out to everyone - if you find the posts abusive then please report them.
@johnht i’ve certainly not insulted you and I’m not one to get emotional about investments ( an achilles heel in trading).
However, your 80+ posts today is not adding value either - but guess we have different opinions on value.
You're back again Parsley2 - you're just being disruptive to every board out there. Time to keep things calm - so what if I got it wrong - it shouldn't offend you. So what if I've shorted you, if you're a seasoned investor which you claim to be, me shorting will have practically zero impact on your investment. Getting personal is just not right.
Chartz, I don't see that - have a read through my posts (I've been as neutral as possible on them). Obviously people are heavily invested here and have a lot to lose and will get angry at the first sign of anyone shorting. Unfortunately that's investments for you. However, I've persistently said this, I don't think it's all doom and gloom - things will get better at Christmas.
The insults started way before the high number of posts. If people find too many posts offensive rather than immediate abusive language, then let me know.
Add value you say @johnht ?? Mmmm Strange words to pick mind given you have a declared short position here (which is of course your choice).
But if your posting 80 plus times daily though i’m not surprised you might rub some readers up. You seem an intelligent person so I'm sure you know that to be that slow on the uptake.
neil I appreciate that... I haven't started with name calling and personal insults - not my style not what I do. Have a look at my other posts on the other boards - they have been highly valuable to many. I suggest just report the obnoxious ones.
Chartz, if you think I post too much fine, the content I believe is adding value. The barrage of insults started straight away prior to 80 posts.
Parsley2..he is an absolute clown..hence Shatmus12..just look at his posting history
Maybe having to conflict this BB to over 80 posts today is not fair either !
Chartz, that's not really being fair - the number of comments I've made is my choice and I don't believe they're drivel that's your opinion.
@johnht to be fair you have posted circa 80 times on this BB just today alone and most of its drivel rather than informative discussion !
It’s the weekend you should get out more
Parsley, could you kindly refrain from disrupting everyone who is having a discussion on anything. This constant barrage of insults to anyone whose opinion differs is not endearing or helping the conversation along.
boix - let's see what the week brings.
Shatmus12 you lost most of your investment..look at your previous posts..I can afford to lose everything I invested here and it will have zero impact on my life..that is the difference and that's a fact
Boix, I've been continuously insulted on this board with petty name calling and just outright lies about what I know, what I do, or what I've said. What little I'm getting back from members is that apparently the Odeon in Bournemouth there was a long que, turns out to be a lie - I called them. When confronted, I have had further barrage insults. It's important we get a true extent of attendance at the screens.
So forgive me for not being forthcoming, after the RNS the share price went down, however, I'm not willing to hand out free information as to why. That analysis should be left to some other board members to contribute.
Ian Harding: Production yes, but it isn't called Phase 4. Phase 4 is post-approval and is related to the monitoring phase not the production and distribution (that's not part of the trial) - what you look for in this phase is immunity over time and adverse reactions. If we are lucky and we find a vaccine that works, I'm thinking 3 months before it filters through to this industry and has an impact. In the meantime, I hope the news on the 24th shows enough in the coffers and debt management to last till Christmas time.
Yes. Phase 4 is going into production. Normally done after a phase 3 has been completed successfully. But in this case, they went into production after phase 2. They have to do phase 3 for potential side effects in a larger sample size. But ostensibly know the vaccine works. Only done due to this being a pandemic and the need outweighs the risk and cost. The government has bought 90 million treatments, so the cost has already been paid for...
Ian, I am not sure what you are saying? They've completed a phase 4 before phase 3?
Phase 3 ongoing at the moment. But phase 4 already completed. Expect phase 3 to finish October. Also Moderna on same time level as Astra Zeneca. Pfizer, started work on their vaccine after this two behemoths. So will take longer to come to market.
@shamus, I've mentioned it many times, the share price will look better in January, I don't understand what these guys are looking for - it won't happen on the 24th and even if there is a slight glimmer, it will short lived.
"...regarding knowing more than a multi billion $ Pharma company" - you asked and I gave you an answer. If you don't like the response, it's your choice.
For your reference this is what I said: "yes , I do know as much if not more than many at Pfizer and secondly at Pfizer, and i know most of them, they don't make silly claims".
Treading water..I don't think so! far from it... I am actually ****ing myself here with your comment regarding knowing more than a multi billion $ Pharma company,, as you say So let's put this in perspective .. You think you know more than Pfizer yet you know fcuk all! pure and simple
Bump this one for you Saihaj. Since you've asked Neil, and as you are treading water, the answer is yes , I do know as much if not more than many at Pfizer and secondly at Pfizer, and i know most of them, they don't make silly claims. You need to understand what they are saying and the process involved - I'm simplifying for you:
i They are still collecting data and enrolling patients
ii Vaccine data at end of October at best - could be delayed
iii There is no guarantee the data will be positive
iv **IF** the data is positive then we wait for 3-4 weeks even on fast track and potentially another month for review on the full data
v then we get an EUA - with specific terms (cinema goers won't be prioritised)
vi then we have another 4 months before it even gets to the public and we have it sufficient quantity for mass vaccination.
vii after mass vaccination is done, i.e another 4-6 months and bingo we have a result
So let's put this in perspective you won't have any decent news until Christmas and certainly nothing positive on the share price until next year. Point iii above is where your investment is pivoting - the chances are not great.
Hope that helps.
Ian astrazeneca don't have phase 3 completed otherwise the Internet would have gone wild.
