I never understand why people will weather the storm and see their shares 40-50% down for weeks and then jump out as soon as they see it grow to 10% gain.
The painful part is over imo. Profit is profit I agree, but there's nothing more frustrating that taking a profit and then watching the price continue to fly up
Thanks both. Yeah I know shorting isn’t favourable - but I need some risk generated cash -‘which i now no longer need.
Good show it ref the Chinese - I guess it’s a wait and see which by default means I need to go long!
I’ve held stock for a while managed to average down to around 47p with a decent holding. When it hit the early 60s last week I was so tempted to sell after seeing day after day losses. Now I’m more determined to keep hold of them than ever Chinese companies don’t just buy a large percentage of British companies for the sake of it it requires permission from the state and a lot of work behind the scenes has gone in to that. When they increased their holding something is going on and they will continue to increase their stake. Wanda/AMC chinese it’s no coincidence they know something we don’t and their will be market manipulation to keep the price as low as possible for them to keep increasing their position. It’s been a very strange market last 2 days bobbing around within 1-2 p (for cineworld). These institutions have people with far greater intelligence than I do and if their purchasing almost 5% of a company in a sector their not involved in that will do for me. I’ve said this a couple of times don’t sell your shares too cheaply there worth way more than .50p. DYOR and only time will tell
@HA
This share could be 65p on Monday at 10am and 40p by 1pm and 55p at close.
If you don’t want massive losses and just want some gains, this might not be for you
Plus shorting isn’t looked on favourably - well done for making on it, that’s what is all about, but you must have experience enough to do that.

Being reading and lurking for a while :
Originally had 14700 at @ 62.05 and this week went in another 83745 @ 52.00 (essentially a holding of 98,000 @£55k)
Interested in thoughts - I’ve gone in as I’ve made a bit over the last couple of months by shorting airline / brewery and banks. But I want to consolidate - not looking for massive profits but don’t want massive losses.
Timelines for 10k? ( a rise of to c.65p?)
Is this long term (18 months +)
Or short - medium term worthy?
Really looking for own experiences and opinions.
Cheers all
