SMQ,
You seem to have trouble understanding that in life sometimes we do "the right thing" not because it directly benefits ourselves, but because it benefits many others around us.
There is a world beyond you (or me)
There is a 28 day delay needed between after having CV19, and then getting a jab. However I do think some people are genuinely too stupid. A lad I used to go out motorcycling with was Anti-vax all the way through, his choice, relatively healthy although slightly overweight, but nothing else wrong with him. All the way through hes not been bothered, said its only like a bad cold all this etc etc. Back in July hadn't heard off him for a while, he got blue lighted into A&E, on a ventilator for a month, now has back and neck issues from lying down not moving.
I asked him if Covid was just a bad cold, and if he was getting the jab, and he says he still won't get the jab. Some people..
DJ well said, couldn't agree more. They always try to use double standards. It's the only way their argument works.
If it was about health, the news would be blasting out advice on exercise, healthy eating and low consumption of putting **** into your body (smoking and drinking). SmallT is leaning quite heavily towards blackmail and authoritarianism.
As I've said before SmallT, what about the many many healthy people like myself that do not need the vaccine, have already had covid and then end up in hospital because of a broken leg(or other such injuries)? should we not be treated?
If no, then what if the injury was caused by someone who was vaccinated, then what? are the hospitals colluding with you and pharmaceutical companies?
These are genuine questions to try and make you and other reading at least think.
We are in a crisis situation where economy is impacted with lockdowns due to few who don't want to get vaccinated. If one has fears about vaccines then they should speak to their consultant and see if the Vaccines really impacts you or not. Just because there are side effects due to vaccines doesn't mean you can make assumptions that you will be effected too . If you don't want to get vaccinated then don't come to hospital for treatment. Pretty sure all those non vaxxers once admitted in hospital will agree to take boosters, which they could do even before admitting in hospital.
Plan b doesn’t mean cinemas will shut, so I can’t see it makes a big difference. I wear a mask anyway.
Not in my view but happy to hear why you think that. Obesity contributes to a significant strain on the health service and many of the worst affected COVID patients happen to be obese.
You are comparing apples and oranges
“Those who are not vaccinated and visit hospitals for covid treatment, just make them pay.”
I assume you hold the same view for overweight people, smokers, alcoholics, sporting injuries, DIY related accidents and anything else involving personal choice that could have been avoided requiring medical treatment. This point of view is short sighted, narrow minded and helps no one.
When travel restrictions did not stop Omicron spreading several countries why do we need more restrictions ?
NHS overburdened? Number of deaths on Sunday was 54 and on Monday it was 41 despite everything opened up! Those who are not vaccinated and visit hospitals for covid treatment, just make them pay.
In my opinion, NHS never worked efficiently. Even bloody Boots pharmacy staff take ages to serve whenever I go to collect my prescription.
There should be a management person in charge at every location and in every department and each staff should be assessed on their performance with a review done every 6 months. Set goals on number of patients to serve, set SLAs on response time and assess each staff based on the metrics and then you will see the performance improvement of each staff and overall performance improvement of NHS. It is ridiculous imposing lockdowns because NHS is getting overburdened.
Engineers are sending robots to Mars and getting images of celestial objects that are of astronomical distance and our NHS and medical professionals are still struggling to improve. It is just ridiculous.
PM: 'No decisions' on Plan B will be taken without consulting Cabinet
Asked about reports the UK will move to Plan B shortly, Boris Johnson insisted no decisions will be made without consulting the cabinet.
William Wragg, MP for Hazel Grove in Greater Manchester, said: "COVID passes will not increase uptake of the vaccine but will create a segregated society.
"Very few will be convinced by diversionary tactic."
The PM said: "No decisions will be taken without consulting the cabinet."
