@Cruis, as I said, that’s the way I interpreted it. Mooky came across as calm and collected. He appeared to be confident.
I also just mentioned that what he said in this case could be to get a bit of leniency. It is an open secret that CINE isn’t in calm waters.
@fun, absolutely :)
That’s bullocks about body language at The meeting last month from mooky lol
Mountainous,
Had our differences but both want same thing and we generally keep it civil between each other :-)
Seriously itching for an RNS. Last year we got an RNS regarding trading by this point.
Praying for complete payoff of dissenting shareholders and RCF reduced to 35%.
Non event, no story here that's affects cine sp. Move on.
Squid clutching at straws to get the SP down and convince people
People questioning if the story is true, if it wasn't true, I doubt it would have been published on the following site which appears to be linked to Israel's leading financial daily :
CTech is a technology news site by Calcalist, Israel's leading financial daily

Convicted Cineworld CEO: "We were the second largest cinema chain in the world. It all collapsed"

@FunInvestor, good evening.
I know we have had our differences in the past, but I fully agree with you regarding that statement. It really was not nice to read, very blunt. Bearing in mind that Mooky was in court at the time and it was not being transmitted anywhere else to my understanding, so I think Mooky was being quite honest there.
Either that or maybe he was putting a negative spin on it in the hope of getting a bit of leniency.
I also feel we had something on this a little while back. May even ha e been either in company accounts or financial update call .
It's just a vague memory I have so sorry can't be specific.
Driven man that was/is looking to be number 1 in the world. No great surprised to see few of these types of 'incidents".

Clearly details case. It wasn't about not showing kids films. It was about not allowing rivals in Israel to screen 7 films.
Suspended sentence so no prison.
Fine which will be small beer against all our other issues.
Whether playing the game or not his statement regards a recovery " being uncertain" isn't most upbeat we would all like to hear.
Though like the positive speil at other times I put little on it.
We will know Cineplex outcome in good time.
Box office will also answer itself.
We have just had two consecutive good months so signs of hope there.

Doesn't exactly seem important.
It would be bizarre if this would make any difference to anything Cineworld.
This is so weird, not even on share news, of any sites
Also the first article has grammatical errors. Seems bizarre
I don’t understand this, there is nothing on google at all, apart From this article, surly there would other articles, not just this one newspaper
*Mookydoesnt show enough childrens films in Israel*
Dramatic shareholder: right thats it!! Im so ashamed im never going to a cineworld ever again!! And im definitly not eating their popcorn again i hope it burns to the ground
Repyrr - how dramatic *facepalm*
@Capehake just add the Squid idiot to your filter list and he/she/they whatever gets replaced by a green box, I have a large filter list now
Squid is now a Cineplex lawyer. This case has been ongoing for years. Plex would have used it in court if it had any merit in the proceedings.
It gets worse every day
No wonder Mooky has been so quiet lately
What an absolute joke this company is, last week after visiting a Cineworld I stated I was proud to be a Cine shareholder, today I just want to be rid of them what a difference a week makes.
Wonder if we get a RNS? probably not.
Squid why are you here?
Spring on any marginally negative news then stay quiet otherwise.
Do you not have another share to play with that you are actually invested in?
"All it proves is Mooky is just another CEO willing to bend the rules in the name of profit"
Yes, that's how Cineplex and their lawyers will see it too. It strengthens their case against Cineworld.
I knew squid wanted to be CINE Ceo. But not this bad. The headline is not as bad as one would think. The case is old and is local to Israel. The sentence is suspended and no one is going to jail.
All it proves is Mooky is just another CEO willing to bend the rules in the name of profit. No major business outlet covered it.
Same old derampers just under different names. Seems like a load of nonsense but that's enough for this bunch to believe because they like the pain as they want to lose money. This share chat is like being in special school
Mooky convicted of a crime? That is shocking. I would imagine Cineplex's lawyers will seize upon this and use it against Cineworld. The appeal is on even more shaky ground after this news. The only way Cineworld is going to survive now, in my honest opinion, is if mooky stands down and let's somebody else take over the helm. Mooky had big dreams of world domination and he can kind of be admired for that I suppose, but he's made so many bad decisions and self inflicted blunders that has ended up costing the company badly. If he really cares about the company, I think he just needs to stand down and the sooner the better.
