valid possibility
Imagine if rns comes out saying that it was part of "exploring all options" and CINE's not going to go down that route.
Showing 4.18 to sell
Disney could easily buy CINE at a discount, might see some hostile takeover?
Ian i hope you're right. but i guess we're all a bit biased cuz the alternative is a wipeout of our money.
Tbf i genuinely believe in the cash-making ability of cineworld and i would guess any bank would indeed rather save it than take a 100% hit on their loan. I mean most of the loans are bullets for 2025 and 2026.
"I expect the banks will be in discussions over the weekend. Whether lending another £500 million and not getting any payments back till 2024-26 is better than losing all 5 billion currently owed."
@Ianharding Wow! someone who is actually using his brain. That is an interesting theory, that could have some merit!
I expect the banks will be in discussions over the weekend. Whether lending another £500 million and not getting any payments back till 2024-26 is better than losing all 5 billion currently owed. As well as the knock on effects to all those businesses effected by Cineworld collapse. I feel Mooky is going down this route as banks did not want to lend more. Will see more over the weekend. This will also shock the studios as they are getting the blame for not releasing enough movies. They may be forced to push movies out now. Avatar 2 cost a fortune to film and been in the making for years. To have no cinemas to show it in, will effect Disney. Can see a lot of stuff going on this weekend. Maybe even someone buying out Cineworld at a reduced rate. I am going to chill and see what happens.
