Nice concise presentation by Martin Horgan!
Well done Spoonington for giving a dog who had an unfortunate start in life a loving home, I hope you both enjoy many years of very happy times together!
Last year things were really put in perspective for my wife and I when Harry & Sophie our two Bichon Frise both passed away , they were siblings and had lived with us since they were pups of 14 weeks old.
Harry developed Diabetes at age nine and Sophie was also diagnosed five months later so it was a case of two insulin injections each per day and as both developed cataracts from the diabetes, Harry went blind in three weeks of being diagnosed although Sophie was a year later.
Harry went to the eye hospital shortly after going blind because he was also in pain, He was operated on by a marvelous German surgeon the following day as one of his eyeballs was in danger of splitting, we were worried Harry would lose his eyes.
But the operation s a success both his eyes were saved, although he was long sighted in in one eye but the other had a plastic lens fitted and his sight was perfect in that one!
Both Sophie's eyes had plastic lens fitted and her sight was perfect , although after this procedure both dogs eyes needed two lots of Optimune eye ointment £55 a tube, two does of Yellox eye drops £17-£30 a bottle,so each month around £160 plus £150 insulin & needles, plus blood , urine tests & vet checkups for two dogs which should have been covered by their Lifetime Pet Policy, but that's not how RSA saw it!
We took part in BBC Rip Off Britain with Harry & Sophie concerning Royal Sun alliance the underwriters of More Than and many other supermarket pet insurance brands to expose the underhand tactics they use to avid paying claims and we were also in two features in The Mail On Sunday when we took RSA to the Ombudsman on two other occasions, and after a fight won!
So be warned stay away from any pet insurance underwritten by RSA.!
"Pet Plan" costs a bit more initially , but in the long run is far better and far less stressful!
But despite all the high maintenance each day, the costs, the fights with RSA I would give all my shares just to have those little dogs back again!
Giving them the right veterinary care meant we had Harry & Sophie were with us until they were nearly 14 years old and we still miss them terribly!
So cherish the time you have with your dog!
Thank you Rebess, I like the comment made towards the end referring to dividend as it hasn’t been addressed lately.
“Consistent stakeholder return policy“
I never tire of someone telling me I’m getting more money.
Also I think the share price, given a positive headline will move to what a few months ago many would have welcomed as a bid for an m&a approach.
It’s in the the waiting is nearly over. The stock market has kept Centamin honest, not rewarding until the projections are fact. I’m referring to the ounces produced.
Thanks Razor
It's the first time I've seen/heard Martin Horgan in the flesh so to speak. - A very upbeat presentation I thought. - Well worth seeing. - Also, thank you for your personal input and contribution. - Cheers.
Hi Paul,
Episode 58 covers some of he Basel 3 updates, I appreciate some find Andrews coverage boring or difficult to understand because of the terminology used, to be fair Andrew does his best to explain things but there is no getting away from the fact it is a very complex industry with a language all of its own, possibly all part of keeping what takes place hidden!

Lol- am disappointed on final- am a Liverpool supporter and annoyed now as Salah and Mane will now most likely miss the Leicester game :-(. But on the plus side, one of them will be in fantastic spirits!
Let's hope Egypt win the Africa Cup on Sunday..the feel good factor should boost worker productivity at Sukari! LOL!
Amazing response Cowichan - It shows just how far your post ripples reach. - Well done sir. - Thank you.
Thanks- nothing new but good to see Horgan talking in the media- getting the message out there with confidence.
Worth a read...

I understand that it was supposed to be brought in by 2015 and has been put back AGAIN until January 2023 (Egyptian lawers? :-)) .
Regarding gold, does this mean that more paper will have to be backed be physical gold? If so, then will there come a point sometime this years when a lot of the paper will have to be turned into physical gold? AND if this is to happen, how late will they leave it and what will it do to the price of physical gold?
Maybe one for Mr T this one?
Getting held back despite decent gold price and higher production. Also operating ESG agenda.
Nutjob?
Equities in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Friday ahead of the release of the latest reports on Germany's factory sales, the United Kingdom's services and manufacturing, and the Eurozone's retail sales.
Earlier, while commenting on the institution's decision to keep interest rates unchanged, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde said the euro area's economy is expected to return to its level before the COVID-19 pandemic later in 2022.
The DAX traded 0.11% higher at 8:01 am CET. At the same time, the FTSE 100 went up by 0.78%. The CAC 40 rose by 0.29%.
The euro gained X% to the dollar to sell for $1.14589 at 8:02 am CET. At that moment, the pound sterling stood flat against the greenback to go for $1.35928.

So this gets real interesting. I got a reply directly from HiSeis which seems to directly contradict Centamin's assertion that the 'quality of the data was inconclusive'
HiSeis reply:
"A 2D geoseismic programme was completed during 2019. Initial data interpretation is very encouraging, identifying multiple potential gold systems and exploration targets for further investigation during 2020 and beyond."

So then who is telling the truth??
I really hope other shareholders will add their voice to mine and inquire to Centamin's IR dept because this is a glaring inconsistency and at least one party involved has made a downright untruthful statement.
All the ongoing conjecture brings me back to my strong opinion, we currently lack the technical expertise to properly/efficiently develop our wonderful resource.
Enough of deal makers, ESG exponents & assorted other pussies, give me a team of impassionate geos & ginger beers to release the value which I know (or am pretty damn certain) is contained in our grounds!
As an aside it is the birthday of my doggie the true Lady Spoonington Woofalot today (4 feb if time differences cause discrepanciy). Despite any animosity towards me, you are all required to put out the flags & bunting to mark this auspicious occasion! She is a rescue doggy who was terribly treated as a puppy, she is getting a prime wagyu beef steak for her birthday dinner followed with daddy’s own recipe raspberry cake. Failure to properly respect the Lady will result in terrible consequences :)

My comments in capitals.
Interested to confirm if HiSeis did the seismic survey work for Centamin PLC in #Egypt back in 2018/2019 and why the #HiSeis system apparently didn't achieve useable/reliable data? Any follow up/comments would be appreciated.
Thanks. #gold #mining #ASX #AMERoundup2022 BE INTERESTING...RANGE OF ANSWERS
1. THE PERSON BIRD DOGGING WAS ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL
2. FOLLOWING ABOVR, A LACK OF ADEQUATE QA/QC IN THE FIELD
3. TOO MUCH NOISE FROM THE MINE SITE (SEISMIC MEASURES VIBRATIONS AND THERE ARE PLENTY NEAR A LARGE ACTIVE MINE SITE)..BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE PICKED THIS UP VERY EARLY IN THE SURVEY
4. INADEQUATE POSITIONAL INFORMATION ON SOURCE - RECEIVER
5. FAILURE TO PROPERLY RECORD THE DATA??!!!

From Centamin's 2018 Report:
Initial exploration work commenced to construct a robust district 3D geo-seismic architecture of the licence area to depths >1.5km, targeting potential new Sukari-style porphyries.
The first stage of Petrophysics were completed for the application of 3D seismic across the licence area.
By Q3, rock property measurements were conducted where P-wave velocity (Vp) and Density (SG) were measured on Sukari core samples. Vp and SG were logged across three holes that intersect significant mineralisation, geology and structures at Sukari.
HiSeis personnel in consultation with staff at Sukari have chosen the holes where the Acoustic Impedance (AI) obtained from these measurements was used to assess which interfaces will act as reflectors and identify the controls on these relationships. The acquired values were then applied to a schematic geological cross-section, which was then used in numerical simulations to create a forward seismic model.
The surface exploration is focused on creating a detailed geological map of the entire tenement, highlighting areas of enhanced fluid flow, or anomalism, which are prospective for gold fluid movement and deposition.
In 2019, the plan is to complete the 3D seismics across the concession andconstruct a detailed geological map highlighting areas for future exploration.

Sent this message to HiSeis via LinkedIn to see if can get some clarity on why the data was unusable:

My last post was sarcasm just to show its clear, dear fellows.
Just wait and see.
Thank you Goldgnome for the additional info and valuable comments!
I did send Alex at Centamin IR a follow up to her reply asking that she look into these outstanding questions. I'll post whatever response I receive.
But as you say - the seismic data already attained may still hold tremendous value. Similar to what Mr Horgan did when the historical Sukari drill samples were relogged and new insights were gained.
Bottom line - an expensive but mysteriously near-completed seismic survey is certainly not a trivial topic but pivotal to expanding Centamin's geological knowledge base beyond the current open pit & underground. Why would the BOD now sweep it under the table or dismiss it?
1) release the damn seismic survey results BETTER TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH THIS DATA, AND INTERPRET AND INTERGRATE THE RESULTS, AND THEN TARGET ASSESSMENT//...
2) explain why the results are/were deemed inconclusive and unworthy of completion (and who deemed them so) YES
3) tell us if there are plans to get a proper seismic survey ... THERE ARE BETTER EXPLORATION FLOWS THAT I WOULD PUT IN PLACE THAN DOING VERY EXPENSIVE 3D SEISMIC. IF THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THESE ARE THEY SHOULD GO TO PEOPLE WHO DO...THESE PEOPLE EXIST.
IN GENERAL, THE MINING AND EXPLORATION INDUSTRY HAVE A TERRIFIC PROPENSITY FOR BURYING FAILED EXPERIMENTS, AND IT IS A MAJOR REASON WHY THEY DONT LEARN AND GET A LOT SMARTER. IN ADDITION THEY ARE FAILING TO PROJECT THEMSELVES AS AN INDUSTRY OF ANY ATTRACTION TO THE YOUNG SMART PEOPLE, AND LETS FACE IT IF YOU ARE GOOD AT MATHEMATICS OR ENGINEERING FAR BETTER TO GET INTO FINANCE, INVESTMENT BANKING OR ALIKE...SO THERE IS A LACK OF REAL TALENT IN THE INDUSTRY AND IT IS GETTING WORSE WHEN IT SHOULD BE GOING THE OTHER WAY...

1) Why are we just learning about this now - after someone asks? If the data was inconclusive let the market know. Seismic surveys are not magic - the data is interpreted - i.e. expect competing interpretations. THEY MAYBE CCONFUSED IN THEIR REPLY. IF THE DATA QUALITY WAS NOT GOOD THEN THIS IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM WITH THE CONTRACT AND CONTRACTOR.
Also, what are the reasons the survey was deemed inconclusive? Who did the survey? Are they reputable? If there was an issue on the survey's implementation was a 'redo' requested? These things aren't cheap - how much did it cost?
THE CONTRACTOR WAS REPORTEDLY A GROUP CALLED HISEIS, WHO HAVE SHOT MANY HARD ROCK SEISMIC SURVEYS. THE DATA COULD HOWEVER BE INAPPROPRIATELY PROCESSED. IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN THEY CAN GO TO ANOTHER PROCESSING HOUSE AND GET IT DONE PROPERLY UNDER PROPER SUPERVISION. IF THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO INTERPRET THE RESULTS AND INTERGARTE THEM WITH OTHER DAT SETS, THEN AGAIN THERE ARE A FEW WHP DO GREAT WORK.

1b) Considering the questionable nature of the multi-year drilling campaign we apparently got from Batie West - is there a pattern of shoddy hires and projects not being carried out to a satisfactory completion? Who on the BOD is taking responsibility? SHODDY HIRES IS PROBABLY ON THE RIGHT ROAD. THE PAST BOD TOOK LITTLE REPSONSIBILITY OBVIOUSLY.
2) The timeline of when this seismic work was carried out 2018/2019 vs when non-essential capital projects were put on hold mid 2020 does not line up. Obviously the decision to NOT spend the extra $7 million to complete the survey was taken well before Horgan's arrival sometime in 2019. By whom? Andrew Pardey? The former CEO who the BOD said retired without a word of explanation? The former CEO who is far from retired - now in control of multiple gold miners?
THANKS GOODNESS HE HAS RETIRED FROM CENTAMIN. THIS WAS DONE ON HIS WATCH AND HE HAD ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS MAJOR EXPENSE ITEM. I AM SURE HE KNOWS NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT SEISMIC, JUST PROBABLY SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME, SOLD BY THE SNAKEOIL GUYS.
None of this secrecy bodes well for the company going forward. If we can't trust the current BOD's decision making or their willingness to advise shareholders of money spent on botched projects then we need a new slate of directors. Too many mysteries. To many dropped balls.
THE BOD HAS NO REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE IN EXPLORATION. GIVEN THEY WANT TO HAVE ORGANIC GROWTH THEN THIS IS AN OMISSION, TOO MANY SEAT WARMERS AND GENDER BALANCE.
As it is too many Centamin shareholders accept the BOD's zero accountability - simply shrug their shoulders and bury their heads.
*** I would hope other shareholders would repeat my call to press Centamin to
