Elsewhere, investors reassessed China's decision to ease most COVID-19 restrictions, especially those concerning travel, from early 2023, while Germany is reportedly exploring ways to cut income and corporation tax.

Hi Mr Bond and Spoonington. I have outlying thoughts regarding the US and their world endeavours. These are probably quite different to your own but how they are used on a global scale is something else.
1st Quantum computing. Leaders in the field and already in use by the military .
2nd The link of quantum computing with the Star Wars program . Does anybody believe the US did not continue its programme. The shuttle programme has numerous missions classified and I would be loathe to bet that wasn't an extension of its star wars programme. It will probably end the nuclear threat as any missile launch would only get a few yards out of the silo or sub before being neutralised. For good or bad I personally dont care as far too old although have a care for my children and grand children No doubt many here use a VPN to disguise their location ( I for one )but as I am led to believe with quantum tracing that is totally visible due to the speed it can travel down the connection to the source.
Hope you had a good Xmas and a happy New Year as you provide alternative views to this board which has always been a broad church.

Gold + 1.5% at $1825.55
It’s a long time until 8:00am tomorrow but looking good at the moment.
The facts are far from simple Bob.
The inflation in Europe and the US are caused by inflation, and that has several reasons among them Quantative Easing , high prices for energy, and lack of Gold backed currencies.
The system works on trust in your currency, . The Sanctions not the Oil and Gas being in shortage. So now Europe are paying Uncle Sam 4 times the price,
In the East they back their reserves with Bullion and have bought more from 2014 onwards.
2014 being incidenrly when Sanctions started to be rolled out by both the US and Europe.
The US these days fights its wars with contactors/ mercinaries , ex military so there are no body bags going back on military aircraft for all to see.
But all this has nothing to do with Centamin.
Tommorow less boredom with the Market open.
Goodbye Christmas for another year.
Happy New Year.
Putin's actions are inexcusable. The sooner he gets deposed the better for his people and the rest of the world. This has to, and will come from within and unlike many other regimes I do not foresee a vacuum.
Hi Gnome
The basic facts are quite simple to me .On the 24th February Putin sent 100.000 troops and a 40 mile military convoy into a neighbouring sovereign Country. That fact can not be excused away and the whole world (apart from a very very few) has the same view.
Agree lets all have our own views and stick to events around Centamin

Hi Spoonington
One very very big difference. if the Yanks dont like him or others in the field they can vote anyone in they think will be best for them. If the ordinary Russian people tried the same . prison or worse faces them from the Putin FSB Gestapo. Biden for better or worse hasn't invaded Canada. Mexico. Democracy is not the be all and end all I admit but is of supreme comfort to me that I can vote against whoever I do not feel is or will do a good job for my Country However I wish you well in whatever Country or jurisdiction you live in and support I hope at some stage a peace can be enjoyed by all.
Regards
Bob
Interesting Bob, apart from the right wing bit, your definition of fascism seems to sum up the Biden administration perfectly.

Thanks for your comments, but the fundamantal issue, to me is whether all stakeholders really understand what is going on in the Ukraine. I battle, and have been burnt badly in trying to understand conficts in countries other than my own.
Generally what you find in the wars through the centuries, is that you have some unelected elete, who proffer some point of view which best benefits themselves, and they ram this through whtever media is available and then the poor buggers who have very few options, get dressed in a uniform (as they suggest), and go and shoot some other poor buggers, who similarly are dressed in a lovely unform (slightly different)..and a war is started...
The whole scenario is totally farcical,
Of course now we have mass media, with mass videos and a mass of hysterical opinions, and of course compelling mass opinions crowding the thought space, so that the less than fortunate persons, feel there is a need to don a uniform and go and shoot some other poor bugger, and so on and so forth ...
The "mass media" discussion on the causes, (needs etc) of the Ukraine war is less than intellectually stimulating and simply lacks veracity, authenticity, let alone balance. Simply a fraud.
Time for group hug?.....and certainly some sensible debate. !
Lets move onwards, and upwards !

Hi mizolgit
Fascism definition from Oxford dictionary
:Fascism) an extreme right-wing political system or attitude that is in favour of strong central government, aggressively promoting your own country or race above others, and that does not allow any opposition
Sanctions came AFTER a 40 mile Russian military column invaded Ukraine in February with the intent to wipe out both Ukraine as a Country and subjugate its citizens into the Russian Race.
Get real
Bob
Hi Mr Tibbs
Glad you are back as well and hopefully in good health. My recent concern on Centamin was having reserves and resources at $2,000 an ounce which adds to Dekker concerns. I have managed to de-risk on Centamin to a light weight holding. I am not that impressed with the quality of information flow from the company which is often late and sometimes vague. What is good is having a solar farm and hopefully to get energy from the grid. All the best for 2023 and a Merry Christmas to all our readers. Tony
Putin is now a fascist .very comical, and the American Sanctions adopted by the European COMMISSION , had nothing to do with it.
I nearly ****ed myself ,thanks for a good laugh.
Happy Christmas all holders. Prosperous New Year.
LFTV segments are always very informative -

As it says, welcome back, good to see you posting again.
HI Mr Bond
Do you feel the cracks are beginning to show. As I have posted here before Comex is run by the Chicago Mercantile exchange which in my opinion
(supported by more knowledgeable others than I) is a puppet of the Fed hence vagaries in price between physical gold and Comex paper.
I for one would like to know the level of physical held by Banks since I believe it was allowed to be classified as a Tier 1 asset class. Perhaps the more able members here could help my understanding of this. Is it a double edged sword as it would seem Central Banks have a vested interest in keeping gold price at moderate levels. Am I completely up a gum tree on this. Probably but happy to be educated by others .
Good to see Tibbles back although I think Corvid and that fascist megalomaniac Putin has a lot to do ,(if not most) for the current woes in the world economies which no form of Government can escape from.
Seasons greetings
Bob
Hello everyone, especially all LTH.
The sorry state of our world in general and the dire and depressing and state of the UK which has in the main been brought about by several decades or more of policies of greed and lies by previous, and especially our present unfit for purpose UK government is very depressing to say the least, and sadly with little hope of improving any time soon, indeed I can only see things getting much worse or at least for the foreseeable future!
So I have taken to diverting my attention to my personal life and other good causes to which I can hopefully help in some way to achieve their aims for the better!
This doesn't mean that I have forgotten my investment in Centamin, but despite the understandable frustration and impatience of some I have to agree with Dasut, we are where we in the main because of the cost of clearing up the waste left over from the Pardey & Co years of high grading for short term gain, which admittedly had a more than a good run, that is until the crack in the marketing gloss became all too apparent, just as was predicted was inviable in articles of 2015 & 2018, although this was denied by the company at the time!
As a result of the years of deception and lies we are now paying a heavy price and the reality of the situation has meant the only way forward its to clear up the mess in order to be able run the run the Sukari operation properly which should have been done from the start!
So in view of the past misinformation and deceit I sought the opinion of a well respected and indeed the only mining analyst who has ever been consistently right on their evaluation of the Sukari operation on the last Doropo update, which on first impressions seemed upbeat, although it seems that it lacks any real substance.
Over past months I have written to Centamin and Buchanan via the official channels on this and many other issues with all my contact details, but to no avail my communications have been stone walled!
So my compliments and thanks to Cowichan for all his efforts to get answers, it seems a great pity that this is the only way to get any response, that said Centamin IR has now resorted to blocking his Likedin feed which in my view is suspicious and will be counter productive,it most certainly wont do anything to promote trust in the company!
Re Doropo pre-feasibility study update
Without having access to a full explanation in a technical report it is impossible to comment from a position of knowledge.
A resource grade of 1.5 g/t Au using conceptual pit on the basis of a gold price is very attractive, but I do not know how the gold occurs. Is it in narrow, high grade lenses. or in a stockwork? What is the prospective strip ratio? Did they cut high grade outliers? Etc., etc.
What strikes me as very odd is the large difference in grade between Indicated and Inferred. What has confidence (i.e. the density of drilling) got to do with grade?
Regards,
Kees Dekker
Best Wishes

bobliz .Gold closed at 1798 on New York.
On top of that there are questions being asked about the employment statistics on Kitco News.
And now 7 Senators have put forwaed a bill to cut the Fed Bank advisors to 5.
As they think the FED is politically biased ,HA HA .
That will probably come to nothing,.
But seeds of doubt have been sown.
I see a close at 112 30 very encouraging as expected a drop to just above 110 Equally gold holding well although a few hours to go on that one.
A healthy and prosperous wishes for 2023 to you all
Regards
Bob
Closed at 12:30 Bob.
I will be looking at the percentage drop in price at close today as will give an indicator as to confidence index in CEY . There will inevitably be a drop as investors may wish to be in cash over the closed market over the festive season. If drop small then that will indicate confidence to stay long .
Of interest only to me as in for the long haul here unlike in other holdings as this could spike exponentially with solid news in the offing.
