Teletubbies performance exceeding expectations. Some retailers say Teletubbies already the no.2 pre school brand from a standing start. CCT top 10% brands account for 80% of turnover. Teletubbies broadcast to US and Oz mid year and Italy 2016. Expect to probably treble US toy sales in 2016.
sorry Jaz, I sold out a couple of days before results, was waiting for a hopeful rise into results which never came, and I didnt particularly like the use of the 'satisfactory' term in the last trading update,I think some of the profits were down to exchange rates from recollection, and wasn't that confident of good Xmas sales up against Star Wars, also these companies can be a bit cyclical, so with profits in excess of 100% and much as I like to hold my winners when I can I wasn't going to risk it. Hope I'm wrong and good luck to all holders
The annual profit before tax of £12.27 million is stated after crediting £2.05 million in relation to this 'mark to market' valuation and is a contributory factor behind the increase in gross profit margin in the current financial year.
Shan, I just think its still rerating to fair value, with half year pbt of £8.5m against an eoy forecast of £11m they should smash the forecast. Allowing for the currency profit in the half year numbers brings it down to about £7m pbt half year (2014 £6m), but even then currency profit means more cash either way ! current mcap £110m Hoping for a trading update early Sep, if it's at least in-line with expectations I'll be buying more
Big buys today Still in favour I see! And still going!
also mcap should equal revenue for the final year if sp rise continues will be interesting if revenue can push up to £120M mark
thanks for the information mate i guess he deserves his paydays!! CCT doing extremely well
meant chairman not ceo
to be expected: from the ceo in the interims....sold some in June too "I have been fortunate, not only recently to have celebrated my seventieth birthday but also, to have seen The Character Group develop and grow since 1991 into a major player within the toy industry. As shareholders will be aware, I have been reducing my shareholding in the Company, on an ad hoc basis, over the past few years but, in order to prepare for my eventual retirement from all executive duties, I have decided that a programme for an orderly sale of the majority of my remaining shareholding should now be undertaken, with the goal of completing that programme within the next 12 to 24 months"
Wowsers...£1m director sells!! Boom over?!
just keeps going!
yes, but sold a third at 3.62 so not all fantastic news, although I made an additional profitable trade on that bit too :) will be watching next trading update like a hawk although I am expecting good news, but always aware just in case, still looks undervalued at this price. loving the look of RCN now revisited, annualised rev of £100m and could be a bid proposition imo. I didnt buy originally as I noticed Henderson selling and I see they're still offloading at 10%, hasnt stopped the sp rising though, looking for an entry apologies for o/t all
well threeputt! £5 up!! what a great trade either way! u have doubled up i beleive?!
Always difficult to gauge sell price so right to keep close eye General trend seems up but watch for rns/results/ metrics for fair value
£2.49 first buy, still think more to come but not going to count my chickens as market has a habit of kicking your butt when least expected. Haven't seen Jolly around here from recollection, might be a sell signal if he appears !! (just kidding Jolly)
Well spotted this around £2 level I think!!! Another one that got away!!!!! Not even jolly has been here.... Or has he??!! Wouldn't be surprised if he has!!!
Shan, ah good to see you sniffing aroung here, gives me even more confidence !
haha yep..at the very least start your own GC page!!! I have about 4 I think!!!
i see The Naked Trader bought in here very recently, that's the 2nd share recently he's bought in well after my first purchase, about 85% in this case. I should write a book....
Coolabi appoints Fusion Agency as Australian and New Zealand licensing agent, Big Balloon to distribute Character Options's toy range in region. Clangers launches on CBeebies in Australia later this month and on Australian national broadcaster ABC network early 2016. Plenty Clangers articles in weekend papers.
I think we will see this going to 500p before long. Charles Stanley raised their target price from GBX 450 ($6.83) to GBX 540 ($8.20) on 2/5/15
Good to see we are back on the up again today following RK's share reduction.
Quoting from the Executive Chairman Statement (2015 interim Report)... PERSONAL NOTE (by Richard King) I have been fortunate, not only recently to have celebrated my seventieth birthday but also, to have seen The Character Group develop and grow since 1991 into a major player within the toy industry. As shareholders will be aware, I have been reducing my shareholding in the Company, on an ad hoc basis, over the past few years but, in order to prepare for my eventual retirement from all executive duties, I have decided that a programme for an orderly sale of the majority of my remaining shareholding should now be undertaken, with the goal of completing that programme within the next 12 to 24 months. With the Group announcing record results and with positive prospects for further growth, I believe that it is the right time for both the Group and myself to be looking to the future.
yep - some more gone today too i reckon
