I topped up at £10.16...if the Israel and Iran tit for tat stops and israel stops in gaza which it will happen, these will fly IMO.
DYOR.
I've dabbled in these for the last 3 years, as a kid we used to get discounted cruises due to family connections, until the Falkland cancelled a Canberra trip. I've bought and sold between £6 and £13, often day trading. I bought in again this morning at 1017. I think there is upside on the way (final last words).
Usual story, pretty much all of yesterday’s gain washed away.
B
Bonkers.
Actually, it didn't this time, it finally closed after hours at $14.19
Which is 25c, or 18p ish.
BUT..... With the Israel strike on Iran overnight/early morning, who knows what's going to happen today.
Currently all indexes are bright Red.
Pretty sure it continued to get worse
Currently, After Hours, it's $14.16
That's 28c drop since our close
Approx. 20p
The Lord Givith and the Lord Takeith away.
Possibly the. I eat posting day ever and CCL in a good mood as well.
“Tgere is a purpose in life for everyone you meet.
Some come into your life to test you, some to teach you, some to use you and some bring out the very best of you.”
We closed at $14.44
I knew there was a heart of gold in there somewhere, Bot!
K, that picture made me smile - not you in a coffin but the P & O slippers and Arvia cap!
Some years ago, a work colleague asked if do him the honour of taking his funeral. My response? I said I would be delighted. Fortunately, we knew each other well enough that he took it as intended! My mum always said I only opened my mouth to change feet. Nothing changes. 😇
B
Thank you all for your support and sympathy. Much appreciated. Is this board at risk of deviating from its main purpose?
Not a bad day at all on that front.
B
Bhants, yes chipboard for me, in my P&O slippers and Arvia cap. K
Bhants.,
Hats off to you.
I am absolutely a sobber at Cremations, family, friends, even neighbours. Unsure why as not like that in normal day life, but hey.!
Luckily, never been to a funeral where the person was buried, unsure what I would do then.!
Thanks bhants apologies if I seemed intrusive but thanks for your honesty. And well done to you for doing that not something i could do I don't think !
Funerals are never easy. You’re right Topo. Most of the time you’re going in blind, unless the Funeral Director has some insights. You’ll hear lots of clergy talking about “going into a role” and in some ways a collar helps with that. I defy any clergyperson to say that can sit entirely aloof from emotion, though. It is less difficult when leading the service but most difficult when talking to family. Can be an emotional minefield - there are times when clearly what a person needs is just a hug. Can’t do that, though, especially if alone. So, a fine line has to be trodden. I always offer to pray with folk. I think that is pretty much expected - it’s part of “the job”! Whatever people’s faith I have never been asked not to pray.
In the end, the service is for the folk left behind. Whatever is in the coffin is not the person they knew! That is often when the reality of the loss hits home.

Bhants - Is it still difficult when taking a ceremony even though you must be used to it ? I always find it quite sad to deal with that even to people we are not close to. every time we are away we always make time to visit the churches etc to say a prayer. Very peaceful and feel right every time !
Thanks Aangus. Appreciate that. We are on Arcadia in July doing the British Isles so we might to see some of those bits firsthand!
Topo and K, the grass at the cemetery this a.m. had just been cut so there was the fresh smell as we stood at the grave. Just something about that smell, too.😀
K, with your history in the timber business I had you down for cremation!
B
Ken - HAHA that's funny, ok ill look after it if i can get 5 mins off these bleeding roofs ! Mrs Topo panicking as we have cruises/holidays booked and no room for works soon !
Topo. I'll pick a plot in Dorset knowing that. 😉
Ken - When I retire if ever I would like to do volunteer work like cutting the grave yard grass etc, we recently visited several places around the country unfortunately visiting graves and laying flowers as we do a few times a year and all of the grass in the grave yards seem unkept.
I love visiting Scotland last place we were in was Orkney and recently we were in Belfast and it reminded me a lot of a few places in Scotland, lets be honest the Scottish rugby team have whipped us the last few times !!
Hi Ken & bhants and all
Yes Horlicks at 7pm haha that's about right for me I'm definitely not a party person but enjoy the peace probably why I like the smaller ships just like bhants haha.
Bhants - Yes we have thought about the bigger ships and undoubtedly one day we will try them , we have a few booked now with Cunard but do enjoy P&O also.
While your here Bhants, and talking of Scotland, there is a good tv series you would like - Scotland 's Sacred isles with Ben Fogle. Maybe you have seen it , but its on BBC iplayer.
Good for you K. That must be really hard for the lady concerned in more ways than we can know.
We made friends with a couple in Scotland on the 2014 North America voyage on Arcadia and Zoom with them most weeks.
B
Similar experience, Bhants only with a wedding. We are consoling a recently widowed friend who has become estranged from one son who is to be wed shortly. Our friend has been told she can attend the service but not the celebration later.
I've been helping to dispose of some of her late husbands share holdings, one of whoch was CCL. He held 7000, all bought pre Covid so big money lost but she wants them sold.
We actually became friend with these folk on the 2017 Arcadia Worldie. K
The sp here up 4% plus I believe.
We shall see!!!
