So Heavy, you basically hope for a big payout from BT under Corbyn at the cost of a dystopian nightmare under Labour.
BT really dont need any help crashing their shares EU or not.
Yes must agree if boris gets his majority .
I was one of those who thought the USA were silly to elect Trump.I am amazed that we are just as bad.We are going to elect another rich idiot who is a stranger to the truth called Boris.I never thought i would say it but I hope for the good of the country Openreach is nationalized and we get a payout as the BT shares are going into free fall when we loose our place in the EU.
That would be boris who conspired to beat up a journalist but then you’ll have found a reason to justify and excuse that in your mind, just like you do all his other lies, deceptions and immoral actions.
No doubt when corbyn loses he will blame trump for fixing it the labour pea brains will smash a few windows in protest
Who wants to vote for a party that's followers try and assault a tory member mainly boris
At street market all this did was show me that labour is becoming more like the national front
This country does not need a political party like this goodbye corbyn
Hey blue - I think you are right again, the reason this is happening is because of people on here now who accept ridiculous behaviour & reward it with their vote. Regardless of personal views no citizen should use their vote to encourage ever more ridiculous lies. Conservative party is so toxic now, taking power from them is the only thing that matters. If labour don’t change, same will happen to them next election until we can find ourselves a decent government.
My view is a bounce after friday news shows a solid, working majority for the conservatives that business investment can respond to. Sixth form economics and romantic idealism will crash this country far more than any Leave or Remain choice. Hopefully Labour will cleanse the toxicity that McCluskey has brought to the party or a 3rd party emerges that is left of centre that I can vote for.
My hope is that following this election there is a significant change in the Labour Party that leads to strong, honest and rational leadership. The consequence of that will be that the Conservative Party will have to find strong, honest and rational leadership to remain in power.
Right now we are watching an ‘unpopularity contest’ in which the winning party will be a bunch of self-serving lying s&&ts who have been tricky enough to convince enough people that they will f*#k the country marginally less than the other bunch of useless tw@£s.
The first new law brought in following the election should be anyone who says they want to be a politician is instantly deported. That would be much more useful than all that free broadband or brexit nonsense and whoever puts that in their manifesto gets my vote.
Unsurprisingly unbalanced again village. How about failing grayling, priti Patel, Raab who was surprised by Dovers role .... lots more & of course a prime minister utterly unworthy, thinks international trade is similar to transporting goods between London boroughs.... writes ridiculous things and then distances himself from every word & of course can’t tell the truth about anything to any audience..... too many dodgy ties with people like Steve Bannon, for all the wrong reasons. Didn’t Boris say *******s to business at some point?. Obviously there’s a hysterical view about Corbyn & if he goes too far voters should take power from him, in the same way as they need to now for Boris. Rewarding Boris and Bannon with more power is going to create a future where subsequent generations are bombarded with ever increasing, dangerous lies. That will be because stupid people have been blinded by a ridiculous Brexit agenda, manufactured to do just that. In my view, Corbyns biggest failure isn’t his naivety talking peace to terrorists it’s being so ineffectual he hasn’t been able to make lunatics in the Conservative party choke on their own stupidity & cruelty
Yet Corbyn,Abacus and McDonnell forming a goverment cannot be taken seriously so again, anybody but them.
I’m a Thatcherite too. Served in armed forces a Conservative voter. Although on reflection I liked the Blair government. Soon as you realise the U.K. had no choice over the gulf wars once the Americans called in their chips you realise all the war crimes claims are a nonsense.
Today I think it’s time to do my duty to my country and it’s citizens by holding the current Conservative government to account. I understood the need for austerity by none of that excuses some of the behaviours I’ve witnessed last few years, they are a disgrace, I don’t see Conservative. Values in any of them, apart from the ones who have been ousted a’la Starlin. The lies, misinformation & unhealthy relationships does it for me.
2016 , 3.91 for me TL,still in shock, never lost that much on a blue chip ever,I'm not too bothered mind, as Bluepete is buying me christmas lunch.
I was also a great admirer of Mrs. Thatcher, and the way that the great lady conducted her business. She was brought down by a tribe of europhilic traitorous pygmies within her party, and the UK has yet to elect a decent PM since her demise. If elected, perhaps Boris Johnson may yet prove me wrong. I followed the PMs questions in Parliament the day following his election as Conservative party leader; he was at full throttle and wiped the floor with Corbyn, Grieve and many other opponents without being discourteous to them. I was ashamed for our country that some Members of Parliament behaved in an emotional and hysterical manner during that session.
Back on track, I believe that a Conservative Government with a working majority and everyone on board, (not like the last cohort with europhiles and snowflakes disrupting the democratic will of the people) is our best chance of a significant BT share price uplift post election as we move towards the ex-dividend date. Any other result will have less of an impact, with some permutations being better than others. GLA especially underwater long-term shareholders who dererve some success following a miserable decline from February 2016 when the share price was close to £5.00 until the present day.
Silly old Littlelam
Get downt pit Pete, with your Labour mates who shut down more mines than Thatcher.
And ho ho ho Bertram, very good.
Yes, cons they are.
Its that time of year again where young, immature minds believe that a grey haired, bearded man will bring them lots of free gifts.
Meanwhile, everyone else is voting conservative.
I'm a Thatcherite so I've basically had no one to vote for once she left, yet I'm a anybody but Labour person so Cons it is.
I don't think it's as clear cut as is being discussed. There are those that will vote, left or right because they have allways done so and believe in what there side say now and have in the past, they will not be moved. Today I was chatting with 3 others, one has voted green in the past and would again, but there is only on offer, Labour, Tory, Lib dem, and independent, no Brexit and the seat is currently Labour. The other 3 of us would normally vote 2 Tory 1 labour, but all 4 of us have concern over the 2 main parties and are still undecided which to go for. I think this is the case for many at the moment, not happy with ther natural party, or the other main party. The polls say this or that but there are a lot of still undecided voters, who may well not decide until they have the slip in there hand. I think there is a fair chance of a hung parliament again, with power being held by, yet again, a minor party playing King maker...
Lets be honest Bullingdon Borris with his £800,000 per year will be good for Borris. If wealth is not spread fairly we are all in trouble no matter who is in power.
You missed the point lamtree but never mind.
Boy oh boy oh boy there’s still some nonsense being said on here.
I agree Corbyns plan for broadband might be the worst plan I’ve ever heard, but it’s very one sided to concentrate only in that (a plan that can’t be delivered) without thinking about a trade deal with the US with Comcast & Liberty media making sure a strong US position will take full advantage of a weak U.K. . We have already seen it in the early 90’s where BT was stopped from competing with American cable companies. For all Of Corbyns faults it’s a ridiculous position to come on a board like this and say his plans (£250bln) of contracts / work will kill outside investment, there won’t be an investor any where on the planet would wouldn’t look to find a return from some of that.... obviously not water, power, train .... shares
Yet I think the majority would agree with Davielad, matherdj.
Labour and libdems seem to have an issue with the majority so lets just cap the left as very very dangerous.
I think, with respect, most people realise that Borris and Sajid would be fundamentally a disaster for the country. Bad for business, and bad for anyone with savings or investments, or planning to rely on pension income.... taxes would go up, investment would go down....it would be a disaster.
See what I did there? Easy to throw around sweeping statements without any substance.
