Thanks for insight NewKOTB. IMO a compromise deal is most likely, and Gov. can safe face without tabloid outrage. As for Budget, nothing drastic tomorrow, but that's only kicking things down the road.
Any sale of any part of BT will come with strings for the buyer (mostly written in the invisible small-print)..... so in essence, UK Gov will sanction any deal providing it furthers it own interest imo.
Tomorrow is another day, what Santa Rishi brings is another matter .... Budget will be low on personal taxes and high on in-direct ones, little in the way of business crushing ones (fingers crossed).
Up early as trading will be fierce at 8:00:01, looking to closeout the month out on a month high, >159.6p.
aimo & dyor
Do people think the current Government will step-in/hinder/obstruct any possible takeover of BT?
Did you really call him dishy Rishi?????
haha ..my neighbour always calls him Dishi Rishi ...she got it off Instagram I think
"How could Rishi (not sure about the dishi bit) mess things up for BT tomorrow?"
Rishi has the Budget tomorrow..so depends how well that all goes down with the market overall

"I thought that we may have got a BT RNS after the close today?"
Nothing notifiable, as far as I can tell Nige.
I thought that we may have got a BT RNS after the close today?
How could Rishi (not sure about the dishi bit) mess things up for BT tomorrow? Not selling 'crown jewel' type thing?
Looks as though it's 143.25p close, up 5.95%.
Well it's certainly pumped up the Volume, 25,437,358 as of 15 mins ago.
As expected take off into close.
Maybe the BT BOD have been spooked by what Deutsche Telekom said regarding them having options to do something within the next 12 months. Maybe Drahi done a deal for DT's 12% holding.
Takeover speculation or not, BT six month share price losing streak is now broken at last.
Did you really call him dishy Rishi?????
Losing the plot.
What is the strike price?
I just wonder if the BOD suspect that Drahi has instructed his helpers to hoover up more BT shares over the past few months on his behalf, taking advantage of a falling share price? he managed to purchase 12.1% under the nose of the market previously without anyone knowing, I suspect that he may well have done it again. Interesting time awaits come December he may well reveal all.
tomorrow depends on Dishy Rishi ...and the hope he doesn't f*ck things up
Time for another rise before close?
Could be an interesting open tomorrow?
Yes, I’d bet against 125p too. In fact I’ve just stuck a healthy £20k on 215p.
Today just shows how shareholders can miss the boat, this is why I believe the best/safest policy is buy and hold. 200p by December hopefully. Step forward Mr. Drahi.
I would bet against 125
Yes, sit back and enjoy the ride.
This share is all over the place. What next... 125 or 250?
Just took some profits and decided to top up earlier today one of my telecoms positions...either BT or VOD.....you just know which one i picked FFS!!
Sit back and enjoy the ride
