That's a very good observation on eagle eye solution. The share price exploded on ebitda positive performance. William Currie have a big stake and I'm sure envisage similar results from their investment in Brandshield saas platform.
In one presentation, brandshield commented that they could operate profitably today if they didn't have such a strong sales and marketing drive. They defended their approach and said growing ARR is the most important metric right now. I totally agree!
But when the time is right, I'm confident they'll ease off the sales and marketing spend, have a strong ARR figure, and therefore be able to demonstrate positive ebitda.
From experience of another small tech share (interestingly one that William Currie Investments also invested in early), the share only really "took off" and the market re-rated the shares after a few years when they were able to scale out with the number of customers using their SAAS platform and report first EBITDA positive results. Yes there were ups and downs before that but nothing on the scale of the re-rate on profitable results.
My point being the UK market, perhaps unlike the US, seems to make moves far more on solid results than the potential, especially in tech. I am not being negative, but realistic. I am invested here, like the story being played out and can see the potential for a similar re-rate with scaling up.
The share I refer to above is Eagle Eye Solutions, I suggest you check out their 3/5 year share price chart and see if you can spot the point at which they started releasing profitable results!
So much good news for Brandshield and we’re still heading south. I’m sure we will turn soon enough.
Oh I'm sure they have some big names they can't talk about. I'd like to think "one of the world's leading e-commerce platform" means a top 10. And almost all of them would be easily recognisable to an average Joe investor.
Bristol Myers are of course a juggernaut, and the share price rightly shot up at the time of their naming as a Brandshield client.
The SP has since halved with investors abandoning small caps in general. Brandshield have only had more positive news flow since but that's the 2021 market for ya.
If they ever manage to persuade a juggernaut to be named in an rns, the share price will go bezerk!
Whilst not named, I believe they have a juggernaut as you call it! The market just refuses to accept that fact...
and here is the RNS from 1st November.
Contract Win
BrandShield secures mandate with major international e-commerce player
BrandShield Systems plc (AIM: BRSD), a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions from brand protection to online threat hunting, is pleased to announce that it has secured a new business mandate to support one of the world's leading international e-commerce platforms ('the Client').
I'm still super bullish on the company but todays rns was hardly 'news'. It highlights the market opportunity, which is clearly sizeable and growing. More of an FYI on why to invest here!
I remain confident this can double from here in the next 12 months with unnamed contract wins alone. If they ever manage to persuade a juggernaut to be named in an rns, the share price will go bezerk!
I agree. The entire market is struggling. I doubled my position at 16.65p earlier as the tide will turn eventually and the 15p-16p area looks good for support
Year end 31st Dec.
I think we'll have to wait for a trading update sometime just after New year.
Expecting some good figures on growth for the second half of the year.
Cheers
I agree. Hard to keep the faith as most micro cap stocks have fallen significantly this last 6 months.
Brsd is just one of many that have fallen... and I would be more worried if just Brsd.
I stay focused on the company and each and every piece of news and all I see is progress.
ARR guidance is just over $5m up from $3.2m and all I see is the opportunity to increase the ARR more speedily in the coming 3 years.
we will see when the next results come out. I still have some riding in here for long term. just hard to keep the faith sometimes. Sorry. onwards and upwards
On the contrary. Read between the lines. Why do you think I’m these research based RNS’s and blog posts via LinkedIn they keep coming back to the same brands: Microsoft, Apple, Nike. Why else would they be doing research on these brands other than they are the type of blue chip clients coming to brandshield. These are the companies putting their faith in the brandshield product and that’s exciting even if they can’t explicitly say who they are working with.
Desperation
Is starting to show now. Anything to prop up the sp.
