Fair enough Tom. I'm in here as well but heavily in Avacta, originally for the Cancer stuff but I have increased based on the test.
Pedrolancaster, I am invested here as I do not accept the notion of covid competion. All good tests win for their shareholders. Also the market cap here at BRH is very attractive.
I am invested in Avacta as Avacta has other avenues of growth, notably CANCER precision treatment! I still want to see rollout of the LFT, but timeframes are moving. Vaccination may be available in April 2021. It may not be. Either way testing is required regardless. Which type of testing? I am arguing all types including the Avacta LFT. Will Avacta's sales be as big as initially assumed? Perhaps, but perhaps not.
When Covid19 unwinds, the lack of treatment for other medical conditions will become apparent. Cancer treatment gas been postponed during covid.
In a pandemic all covid tests are needed, PCR, LAMP, LFT, Crispr, Carl's Test, sewerage tests etc.
Billions are required!
I suppose my investment here is a hedge.
The market cap here is attractive. It's also not good to have all you investments in one share!
Wrt covid stocks...
Novacyt tests will be needed regardless. They work and SELL internationally!! Hence, the growth in their share price.
This is a world wide issue, so the bigger picture is needed, not solely the UK.
A fast, sensitive, specific test is a benefit to the arsenal in the pandemic war against covid19.
Thats what I see in Carl's test. The PoC was a binary outcome. Carl's test works. So willing to wait for clinical validation, development and rollout! This could explode from sub £12M to £x00M. If it does then LTH here will be rewarded.
Face masks are a bonus (though from Nov 5th more for RMS).
How much is an antiviral mask or gown?
£10-50 for an antiviral Face mask?
£10-25 for an antiviral gown?
Sales could explode here, just as Novacyt sold their Primerdesign test assay! Follow the money!!
At the start, covid19 was all about test, test, test. It still is and unfortunately, probably always will be!!
PPE of the best antiviral textile materials will be a procurement necessity! We relied on China as our answer to JIT globalisation. This will end. Local control of strategic suppliers will now be required.
BRH and RMS look good investments to me at the market caps today!!

"Legally they need to be transparent so don’t read anything in to that"
Not on AIM. Using an extreme example , this is why you see so many bogus Chinese / Asian companies falsify statements on AIM. UK is great because all you get is a fine and no jail sentence.
Tom, I'm not sure why you are still invested in Avacta then?
Legally they need to be transparent so don’t read anything in to that
Tom, with Avacta I agree avacta should release sensitivity and specicivity results from the trials they have been doing from summer. Keeping quiet like Genedrive over bad news, and the recent CEO £400k share sale doesn't help.
What I like about brh is that are very transparent with all news including bad as we saw with the delay of the copper nanotech facemasks . They clearly are not scared of the negative effect on the SP and want this transparency with shareholders.
I wouldn't say Avacta have missed the boat, far from it, as there are plenty of players which have time left to dominate in certain new areas in this new testing field. However, intact virus testing is completion to PCR testing - you either have one or the other .
The simpler you make the test the easier it is to scale up efficient and reliable manufacturing. Paraytec realise this and have been very honest so far and seem they know what to do.
Isthisawinner...
Hopefully, the F1 story on the need for speed (lol) of test result provides some momentum here!
This is very serious for F1.
They travel the world and have negotiated travel exemptions with national Governments!
If they cannot get it right inspite of their claim that F1 "test more than any other business on the planet" then a fast, sensitive and specific test is required.
I know a test that springs to mind, Carl's test from Sheffield!
Listen to the BBC podcast, last 30- 60 seconds, they know it too!!

Test, test, test
As always Tom , your input is most welcomed. The only thing that unsettles me here atm, is that we seem to be playing catch up in the shadows of other companies. Dont get me wrong, I think what this company has achieved in so little time is remarkable. I may come across as impatient, but a breadcrumb of PR, or an acknowledgment from a government source to show that someone out there actually knows we exist...wouldn't go amiss. Maybe now, with RMS's masks getting attention, a bit of PR might come our way and I know with an MOU announcement this would change in an instant. The silence is deafening here atm...rant over !!!. I also think Avacta are cutting it rather fine. They are very late from their "mid Summer" prediction!!
A vaccine is now touted as available by Christmas
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8875931/Coronavirus-vaccine-weeks-NHS-workers.html
However, I have seen it all before! The UK RTC was going to produce 50M tests which would negate the need for the Novacyt test assay. Well, this was ridiculed on the Novacyt BB and Minsters watered down the press release on the Andrew Marr show that the Daily Mail rapidly changed its headline on the UK RTC article.
Is a vaccine available by Christmas?
Or is this hope and more false news??
Well a vaccine sure is an interesting development in the light of statements literally implying that Christmas will be more virtual this year!

Britains bleak mid Winter!
Now the army is being dispatched to keep control.
Democracy has been our bedrock for centuries - but I now fear it is at risk from divisions over Covid, writes former home secretary David Blunkett

Oh forgot, the MMs (LoL!!)
Carl's test- fast (tick), sensitive (tick), specific (tick)
Test, test, test
Isthisawinner, I disagree on the notion of "competition"! Dr Alaistair Smith (DrAS, CEO of Avacta), stated no one supplier has the capability to support all covid19 tests required. Its just not possible. Hence, he welcomes other Companies developing tests!
Furthermore, you may find that the trialled pregnancy test are not Avactas! IMHO (and as an investor in Avacta), they are not ready till Q1 2021!
Other, similar devices are available:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/assessment-and-procurement-of-coronavirus-covid-19-tests/lateral-flow-devices-results
These tests IMHO are the 10k being trialled in Greater Manchester.
As I have posted, a former Avacta worker posted on the AVCT BB, that the slightest variation in manufacturing causes different result outcome! They are "sensitive" to production variances! This is what is IMHO causing delays.
Government, therefore is using LAMP, PCR testing in the interim.
Now, I ask myself, if second wave passes with local lockdowns and existing tests would the Government want to spend billions on the Avacta test when funds are tight?? Does school meals debacle and £5M argument with Burnham show this?
Now, add to the mix a new fast, sensitive and specific test which with pooled testing (mathematical algorithmic testing) speeds up the whole test process at a fraction of the cost of LFT would the bean counters go wish to explore Carl's test approach with existing tests or go for a LFT?
I think that they will go for both!
But I do not think the Avacta test is sensitive enough to negate PCR. Hence, I think Carl's test will be required due to its speed, sensitivity and specificity. This makes them both complimentary as opposed to exclusive. If I am correct, this would be excellent for share growth.

Test, test, test
Cheers for your reply haha, was also thinking a lot of NYCT money could move our way as our test advances and their tests dwindle.
Apart from that , now that proof of concept has proven successful, Paraytec has probably been in preliminary discussions with GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Fujifilm Diosynth, etc... on the last Nexus Project so I'd expect some involvement from them or a partnership/manufacturing announcement in the coming months.
" Paraytec is currently having discussions with potential partners who could supply other key elements of the instrument alongside Paraytec's UV imaging system."
"Braveheart added that one of the key features of the Nexus Project has been the high level of meaningful interaction with end-users including GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Fujifilm Diosynth, The University of Central Lancashire and The Centre for Process Innovation."
part one of our two part test seems very similar to the 10-15 min test used by avacta.
Anybody got any info re AVCT's tests, seems they're the competition and months ahead and have the backing of the government. It would be nice to think that although we may be behind them atm re roll out, that our test might
be superior and easier to use. Going by their market capital, if playing catch up, we could have a rosey future if we can match or surpass them. Also does anyone reckon we have the ability to produce a pregnancy type test ?. Gla
