Ah right, will have to take a look :)

Hurricane Energy. Amazing feats of engineering. Geology, not so much.
I lost a bucket load at HUR...When is a competant persons report written by a competant? dont want to follow that rationale again.
o/t Langans.... shame- good times in there over the years.
Hi Ross,
Apologies, long day in the 'virtual' office and brain dead... HUR?
Q
amazing how it’s just going to sit perfectly still with the thrusters. I suppose if heavy storm is forecast they can disconnect the drill and reconnect at a later point ?
To add to Qnards details, many of the supply boats are also fitted with DP to eliminate the need for tying up to the rig. This includes service vessels such as acidizing units.
The cranes on most modern rigs are fitted with swell compensation systems which allow the vessels to be loaded and off loaded as the line is payed and retracted automatically when the weight of the load varies due to other than calm seas, this makes for much safer and speedier operations.
Afterburn450: They won't be anchoring the Icemax at the drill site. In 500m of water, that would need a minimum of 2km of chain / rope, per anchor. Anchors need to be pulled from the side to work, not pulled directly from above, hence the need for a MINIMUM of 4X the water depth.

Would you envisage a HUR type EPS for P1 if it comes off? FPSO technology is quite amazing, a thing of beauty in fact.
Too keen to push send... Wind predominantly easterly. 15mph is Beaufort scale 4 so about 2-3ft waves
Hey AB, just pulled out my old pilots guide, rain around 10% of the time and av wind speed is approx 15mph
Cheers qnard. It’s amazing engineering to keep the drill completely perpendicular in any wave conditions. If it moves then obviously it will jepodise the whole well integrity. Anyone know what typical sea conditions are December?
This is so exciting ! Little aim company renting a world class drill ship !
Hi Afterburn,
As you can probably tell from my name, I spent many years driving ships. The Stenna Icemax is a dynamically positioned (DP) harsh environment class 3 drillship and is capable of drilling in 10,000ft of water. DP is a computer controlled system that automatically maintains position using propellors and thrusters. Propellors sit at the back & move you ahead/astern, thrusters are also propellors, but sit within tubes that run from port to starboard & push you sideways. The Icemax has 6, 5.5MW thrusters and some major DP kit. I can't find the info but suspect that she has two propellors and dual rudders. I was able to turn a ship with half that kit that on a pinhead. Hope that helps
Harry - SP may be down but the bid price is what is finished with last night 2.35 so has not made a change to the value of my lot.
Buys at 2.48 or thereabouts
Sells at 2.38 or thereabouts
It is very frustrating this waiting game.
We do have stats in writing as well as verbalised on the video. I doubt very much they would commit to do so without believing it - though we do all know company directors who will quite happily lie out of their hairy orifice.
Stay safe all ;@)
Thanks Garry, no need to put up a link, SP did say that I watched the presentation. He was referring to an FPSO, perfectly reasonable thing to suggest.
Icemax is one of the most advanced drill ships in the world.
You can google its capabilities. This isnt an old rust bucket.
Just tried to put a buy trade on. Couldn't put it on !!
MrGregg are you all in. I find not working at the monment this is a good bet to earn a few years salary in a few months
......due to being very confidence of oil. Just unsure wh share price is so low.
Put the bath tub in there as well....
I thin a lot of people want to go kitchen sink I have a fair chunck
How much portfolio you risking. I wana go kitchen sink. But scared.
would be looking 8-10p on spud, hoping for the higher
Willec what do you think SP on or around spud
Not sure I can risk waiting for the discovery but could top slice and let a few free runs for the result.
Question. With the F off drill string suspended from the ship what’s to stop it snapping if the ship moves. Obviously the ship will be anchored and perhaps GPS guided bow thrusters but still heavy waves could easily muller a nice drill casing. Anyone know?
Looing at minimum 25p on oil discovery in January 2021
