Oh dear. The 6% figure refered to by someone else wasn't 6% of the population.
And I am not ignorant of this pandemic. I am someone that has read and read and formed an opinion of my own.
I won't wear a mask unless the premises that I visit insists I do.
You carry on with your beliefs, that the majority of people are at a higher risk of harm than of all of the other things that we cope with, I will carry on with mine that it's just some thing else to manage without crashing economies and putting millions of people in poverty.
6% of the population is a hell of a lot of people. No one wants to wear one but we do to try to reduce the spread as best we can. By making stupid excuses not to wear one you you are just showing your ignorance to suit your excuse to be lazier than the average person. Don't bother replying just filter me. Wife is a nurse and seen many deaths due to Covid. Can't belw stupid some folk are. ieve ho
I have to admit.... I’m not an advocate for face coverings to be honest. I wouldn’t push others to stop wearing them. Equally I wouldn’t push others to wear them.
They reduce infecting others by 6% in perfect conditions. They also give people a false sense of security which may then cause people to take risks such as necessary hand washing. There is no proven science that wearing face masks is of great benefit. I do however wear them around the elderly not because I want to reduce infection, but because the elderly get very nervous around people who don’t wear them so I do it for their benefit.
All in my opinion.
Back to bpc. Exciting times ahead. We are getting there.
Hi Glide - I mention it as my three brothers, all of our wives and the majority of children work in the NHS. Whilst none of us like the situation, I thought it only right having seen my family being presented with many cases on a daily basis. Do I want to wear one? - not on your nelly - will I wear one? Yes I will.
My colleagues in my previous life have a difficult enough role without having to pi55fart about trying to ensure the government's wishes are enforced. A seatbelt reduces the risk as does a condom, facemask or otherwise.
Never wished/intended it to be a discussion piece - this is a forumfor BPC - I spent 3 decades protecting folk, so sometimes I forget. That is the last on it for me.
Stay safe all ;@)
And thank you for the name calling. I shan't do the same.
Never in human history has the human race covered faces and bmhad freedoms taken away for the sake of a disease that harms such a small percentage of the population. Wear your mask. Don't expect me to do so without argument back
Glide - can’t let your comment to Brynjon about his face covering pass. I see from your postings that you “totally disagree” with face masks for this pandemic. It is ill informed idiots of your ilk, the science deniers, that will mean more deaths, and ongoing symptoms (including in the younger generation). No talking sense to brick walls - but don’t go telling others not to wear or advocate face masks. Mayt...
Bryn - a plane and simple Fcuk off works for me. The mentality of some posters on this and other boards is juvenile at best and cretinism at worst.
Enjoyed reading your comments in BPC iver the last 1.5 years that I have been invested.
Do please stop the face covering comments though.
ATB
We will have a drill ship in the waters where our licence is in December. 90 days including weekends until the other big day in many calendars.
We have plenty of time to have disagreements and good discussions relating to BPC with the occasional bit of banter and menu discussions of course.
Whilst I have a number of folk on filter to keep my reading of the boards to a minimum, hats off to those that challenge the dissenters - though try not to feed their egos too much. Point them in the direction of info - unless of course you enjoy the baiting of such folk.
I do like a challenge but prefer it in person as I can perhap see and hear the emotion behind a comment and react accordingly. Stay safe - keep your mouth and nose covered and most of all - I hope to see you all safe and well whenever it is that we meet up. I will be the fat bloke with the gin. ;@)
