Or, in the event of a damp squid, Baxter`s Court in Hackney is better than most Wetherspoons.
Les meetup at Grenadier b4 this X mas
Well I am pleased that Humphrey is looking after his London estate because he's had to be dragged kicking and screaming to refurbish the Ivanhoe near me at Sprotbrough only a stones throw from his brewery.
All the Sam Smiths pubs (at least in Central London) ban the use of mobile phones, laptops in their pubs. Have to sneak off to the toilets if you want to send a cheeky email or check the racing results! The Grenadier is indeed a fine pub. I also like the Antelope on Eaton Square and the Star is also a fine pub (Fuller’s from memory but as that is often the final pub when I am out drinking around there memory probably isn’t to be trusted).
any establishment that bans the use of a mobile phone gets my vote. Genius.
On the basis that if there is no photographic proof it never happened. If there is no proof I can't get in trouble for that extra drink.
Not many people bring a camera on a night out (unless you are a Pap and it is work), every man and her dog (political correctness) has a phone with them today.
fist drill? Oh Err...
I think we have found the venue for " rig mobilisation drinks " in March/April next year!!
I'm sure they can knock up some beef & horseradish sandwiches given the occasion.
We need to get together there after the fist drill...
My wife was chatting to Jim Ratcliffe in The Grenadier, she was talking about shopping and hotels and he was talking about good food. I later informed her of his empire and she said "he's from Manchester"
Wow, hadn’t appreciated the Wilton Arms had shut recently. Was always one of the really good pubs around there. Often spent a Cheltenham, Aintree, Royal Ascot afternoon In there watching the racing on TV. Last in on the Thursday of this year’s royal meeting when Frankie had the first four on the card. Shepherd Neame not my fav brewery but happy to drink their Whitstable Bay IPA in their nicer establishments!
That's another good one. The Grenadier is my favourite though. A few weeks back Nigel Farage was in the Gren and tucked away 3 pints before meeting Donald Trump at Buckingham Palace. You couldn't make it up...
The Star Tavern is another good one. Yes, no mobiles in the Nags Head, not even to take a photo. I like the place, it reminds me of home. Filthy and full of strangers..
Yep, good pub - mobile phones are banned there! Used to drink at the Wilton Arms just up from it but it closed down about two months ago.
The Nags Head on Kinnerton Street? That's another one worth a visit.
Small world, that was my local - used to work at 1 Knightsbridge for several years.
The Grenadier in Belgravia? I come there occasionally after dinner in Calidonia
Fatal, I'm in London over the New Year.
I'll leave you a few pints in The Grenadier. Just mention Big Lee and put them on my tab. They know me well....
Hi, laallee, let me know if you ever come south - we could meet up.
There are some good points being raised on this board and, as I thought, this was never going to be just about small investors. Semantics?
