Been buying all morning from £2.33...a gift from BooHoo
I'm still 100% certain that £2.75p will be hit today!
mcklondon Yes it could be an issue, but equally women like to buy stuff and with no where to go it's more time for online shopping for 'bargains' they really 'need'. I probably won't buy one item of clothing this winter.
I think my wife has a jumper fetish, doesn't matter that she already has more jumpers than I'd wear in a lifetime, when there's a bargain on a cute jumper...
I let my wife read this before posting, she just laughed and said "you can never have enough jumpers". :-)
Maxage Lockdown was good for Boohoo this year, but ASOS has put out a warning they are concerned about the winter trading period: see their huge SP drop after results.
So we have two competing narratives:
1. Lockdown is great for the online retailers like Boohoo, they'll mop up the Christmas business.
2. Another lockdown means more young unemployed and they can't afford to buy as much as they did during 2020 Q2 and Q3, could mean Boohoo/ASOS have to offers sales to attract customers cutting into profits.
We won't know which is right until probably early December when they start announcing Black Friday sales. I think ASOS/Boohoo will do well this winter, but the uncertainty will weigh on whether to invest in their shares until we know for sure.
Walked through Skegness high street last night and it's shocking how many fashion shops had big red closing down signs! If it's like that countrywide the high street will be dead this Christmas. How is it looking around the country???
Tiptree
I'm thinking the same - see what happens tomorrow and hopefully have a bottom for Wednesday. There's no rush, anything under 300p a good entry point.
Greens43 Don't assume those who can see the SP falling further believe it won't recover and break new highs.
Some are looking for the best entry price for maximum profits.
I've bought and sold twice this week because I believe the SP will rise long-term, so wouldn't be panicked at getting in a little high.
Short-term is anyone's guess what will happen, I thought 321 was a bargain on Wednesday, changed my mind and sold on Thursday (£27 profit, big score :-)). Bought today at 268 and sold at 280 2hrs later (£600 profit) because I couldn't see it staying above 280 after it failed to reach 285.
Put a cheeky limit order in at 200 just before close hoping for a big sell off, obviously wasn't filled.
Tomorrow is a new day, will be looking for a big drop to buy in again if it feels right. Must be getting close to the bottom, so maybe all in with ~£25K.
Buffaloben yes
I am a large holder here...........so not being negative...................but those delayed trades are just that................The transactions could have been any time during the day....so for all we know there were all sells.................does look great all blue.....................but looking at the very large trades it could have been stock changing hands as there are several 'lots' that are numerically close...For what it is worth SP , in my opinion, will recover somewhat in the short term..........the big players like Jupiter and Baillie are not concerned in the least with intraday prices.................the will only offload when they think the time is right.....................not because prices are falling...................
More likely ODEY playing with boohoo this will go back up no matter what the shorter’s do
This slide had went on for far too long and the witch hunt is quite frankly ridiculous when every fashion manufacturer exploits workers to some degree. Don't see the media going after anyone else therefore can I only deduce that there is a vendetta against boo somewhere. Must be some fat cats shorting this to kingdom come. The fact of the matter is boo cannot legislate for what their subcontractors do at the end of the day. It's not pretty just now but boo will work on their supply chain and the fundamentals will shine over time. This is a beautiful price but I imagine everyone is watching this like a hawk as no-one knows when the slide will halt. I am keeping some readies aside just in case we see the price tank further (not warranted in my eyes)
Sorry to rain on your parade but there's no way of knowing that those big trades are buys. The share price was higher than that for most of the day so could easily be sells but reported late.
Tiptree.
À you from Tiptree, Essex?
It could well fall lower, buying opportunity by Wednesday provided no further media attacks.
This is for sure going to be re-bounding tomorrow.
Close of £2.75, totally overcooked sell off!
