Great post, im just a guy whos happy to make his money through exploited workers, low pay, low governance, its a sqeaky clean model, like the diamond trade, does not matter how its been mined, just what it looks like at the end
Yes this is crazy talk on here. So next is when the critics have finished is how about the millions of customers that cintinue to buy the product. Has that fallen i doubt it. How many people buy a product and think about the ethics or if Boos suppliers were paid under the legal wage. The goverment is quite happy to let large blue chips completly outsource operations being carried out by uk based people offshore and them to copletley lose ther jobs. Nobody condems that. We have Boo here having a business that works well because it can ship goods with low lead times from uk companies and all peole want to do is slate it and slam them for supporting british businesses. Yes Boo has aknowledge they can improve governance so why are we still seeing people drag over the same ground. Please lets give them a chance they are supporting british. This sage is enough to stop company in the UK survive as they wikl just de risk and say its not worth it if this is the way they are treated. People critical of this need to stand back look at themselves and say do i ever make mistakes. What do they say about good people in business the one that make mistakes and learn by it. So lets stop this stupity and let the results and the people buy the product do the talking and see where the SP goes with that.
@Pantanj image is set in stone to who, you, because Chloe from Cheshire unfortunately doesn't care. You can believe what you want but most of what you type is utter utter bull****e.
Well said
The image of Boohoo is set in stone, traditional victorian capitalist run company that GETS the best value from.staff and working conditions
@pantaj @maxba
Your right to be cynical but any Company that does this knowingly pay's massive consequences. As a Company that supplies the High Street from one of the countries you mention i can tell you that, quite rightly, we are audited within an inch of our life. Not just once by 6 times a year, we are also paid unannounced visits, all our suppliers are also audited from cartons to zips, i can't however vouch for the truck drivers who transport the goods, or the working conditions of the people on boats that transport the containers, so how far do you want to go on this?? If there are any serious non compliances found then we are struck off and fined massive amounts £20k upwards, for any small non compliances we are also fined and given a time line to sort, to give you an idea when we increased the workers we also had to increase the number of toilets, i go in some offices in London and there's a couple of loo's for over 50 workers !! no one bats an eyelid, never the less the small things matter and if you get the little things correct then the bigger things will also be addressed. These factories are not owned by these Companies contracts are given on the basis of compliance and trust that the factory is not going to job it out to another party as they have taken on too much, this does happen but its far less than it used to be because as i've said the factory will be struck off and fined. To repeat again, despite what you say Companies do not do this knowingly despite but with the best will in the World you cannot watch dog every factory every minute.
Good job none of us buys stuff from China where they lock people up in concentration camps and make them work.
#uyghurgenocide
Oh sorry, this is not twitter
Hey why are you ignoring the reality, Boohoo works in a true capitalist mode similar to the Vixtorian days of industrial revolution companies and mining.
I pointing out that we should embrace exploitation of staff to maximise our Share Price, we cant allow better pay conditions and low profit margins, Share price would tank !
Why are u attaxking me.for admitting happy to make profit from exploitation of staff and low paid conditions to increase my share price and holding
THATS the reality !!
Cant deny it , if you are againsyt te morals of exploitation why are you invested !
sounds like an excellent business model though think of the profit margins.
Next seems to be doing fine maybe our suppliers should have just destroyed all their papers and everything would be ok
Patanj you're taking it way too far now. Talking of exploitation in such frivolous terms is egregious and unsavoury. There are degrees of exploitation and up to a point all of us here will turn a blind eye. There isn't a clear line between fairness and exploitation however obvious abuse of another human being should be condemned by all...
I think patanj is just taking the p***. No one can be this clueless and sane.
well patanj, each to his own but your remarks do nothing to help the image of boo on this board and only elevate the allegations against boo as being well founded, which is pretty dumb if you want the SP to go up.
Wyndrum im happy to make money from companies that exploit, shares in BP, RIO TINTO, HOthschild,
However are you happy to admit any profit and gain you have made is is due to low.paid conditions, rag traders being paid low80 percwnt less than MRRP for a item , i like the business model !!
Patanj, Its actually very easy to make money if you break the law. There is nothing clever about that.
It does not take any skill to make more money than a competitor if you ignore the legal framework.
But why stop there, why don't you just set up your own people trafficking business and cut out the middleman and keep all the profits to yourself,.
But don't complain if you get caught and end up in jail
Im kenyan indian origin, from same community as Kamani father , infact my grandad knew his grandad.
Anyway point is lets embrace exploitation of workers for our profits instead of cover ups, we know all the big brands and players have it hidden but it gos on !
No shame to admit that you invest in exploitation of workers
Wyndrim if you are so against it all why are you invested in Boohoo, we need these exploited conditions to maximise profits and satisfy us shareholders..... Do you not agree
The moment they stop these factories ay goodbye to profits and our holdings
You talk like it’s just sweatshops, do you use a mobile phone built on child labour in mines, what about the luxury hotels in Dubai, read about those workers etc etc etc. You’re all very selective.
I tell you what Patanji, if you are so enthusiastic for sweatshops and slave labour , why you don't work in one before you perhaps gloat in the terrible conditions you wish to ensure carry on?
@patanj , your absolutely clueless.
idiot. Should be banned from this BB
I hate when people rush to accuse others of racism or what have you in order to strengthen their point... but I do think there is an argument for it here. What's more obvious is that snobbery and class-bashing is definitely at play. The rags to riches story is something that should be lauded in these times of such extreme inequality.
The rumours of his setip and how his brothers run the company is comical. Its institutional rqcism to point out his swratshops when every premier manufacturer not to name sports giants, catwalk labels all have their setups truly hidden, in cambodia, vietnam, pakistan, india, bamgladesh and china !!
We need sweatshops and slave labour to keep profits high !!
No shame to admit it !
