Debenhams was always near empty in every one I’ve been in; Guildford, London etc People like walking around a dept store for variety which is why HoF always did better with more sought after youth brands vs aged brands Debenhams carried. Harrods, Harvey Nics & Selfridges will appeal, as with HoF, to folks who still want the in store experience but I don’t see how taking a failing high street dept store online only is going to save it as Burton’s & Debenhams were tired old brands. It’s like saying let’s bring back Woolworths, C&A or BHS with an updated website. It will be interesting too see how this goes but I’m surprised they are not making Boohoo the overarching website portal with all the brands underneath vs trying to stick young brands in an outdated failing brand. Loads of businesses with pretty websites fail it’s more how the brand is perceived & online how they compete is far more challenging than the high street. Ask yourself where you’ve ordered from online lately? Amazon, eBay & your other portals. Data in a year will be interesting here but I can’t the Debenhams brand around long term. It’s tired & dated.
Yeah rag is right this is just a taster of how it will be positioned
There is no “marketplace” on there yet
Pp- “boo are excellent at getting it right slowly?” Are you mad. They grew so fast and got caught with slave allegations and whipped off £2.5billion of value. I do think you’re a bot
Also @rag asos capital markets day doc is really good. Inception to site is 4 weeks :)
ragtrade - exactly. Boohoo are excellent at getting it right slowly.
Webba1....I assume thats an i.q. measure????...1
Christ this bb has degenerated into random analogies. I bought into ASOS on the premise that the board was devoid of nut jobs.
Any value to add on volumes/ Updates appreciated. Some deranged clown who has nothing better to do than ramble (Pedro 61 - I assume that’s an iq measure?)
Blocked with people power
I agree with that statement.Boohoo are very good at what they do.In the past they have done things right, but they need to get growth with the valuation they have and their previous competitive advantage will be eaten into as the company will have to abide by certain standards to satisfy the authorities and media. Also when a company gets things right it follows that the competition watch and learn and then try to emulate, which will not help .
Sure they will and people from other partys will come across , despite what everyone thinks on here majority of yhe country dont associate Debs and BH as same company, our and your obsession with BH is not replicated elsewhere.
A lot of the party venues have been closed for the last year. The Boohoo party venue stayed open.More party venues may mean some of the guests decide to go to another party.
Pedro, actually this Party is new, it will disrupt the Next party going on over the Road , i have it on good authority that DJ in the house Simon Wolfson is concerned. Truth is Party is big enough for all, so many have shut down in last year that competition is smaller than it was.
Boohoo parties in the past were very noisy and troublesome, and got a lot of complaints from the neighbours. You can be sure the party will be heavily Policed in future. Not a party I would want to go to.
Just be aware of the gate crashers to the party.Boohoo have had fun parties in the past. But others have seen the fun and want part of the action. Also the cost of holding the party has gone up,are the partygoers willing to contribute?
For everyone's info the current Debs offer is just a re jig of old site, if it was a party and 500 guests were invited the current site is the equivalent of moving furniture around and old guests from previous party still being there plus a few early arrivals, in all about 10 guests!!! Most if not all of the Debs stock is inherited, we are not even close to seeing the impact yet of new buys, yes some existing BH Brands have come across with new stock but Burtons, DP's and all Debs Brands are yet to be seen in there new glory. So at this party the canapes, champagne, vodka luge, entertainers, DJ and special guests are yet to arrive, in fact they are either just coming out of oven or fridge or putting their make up on, associate each appropriately if you will. As always Q3 , Q4 , till then move on , nothing to see here, famous last words!!! lol.
Have we heard if Boo is going to be banned from trading in the U.S yet? Or is that still pending? Could be nasty if it happens.
They do get things right but the competition are well capable of upping their game.If Boohoo lose the advantage they have recently had will pencilled in growth happen? If it does not then Boo is going down. This is one of many reasons why Boo has underperformed the market and lost value in a rising market. This underperformance will continue because Boo is valued on huge growth. It is valued on past competitive advantage.Dissapointment awaits.
Ignore the saboteurs of Boohoo on here or even better filter them.
They're not worth your time and energy.

I find some online marketplaces too overwhelming because there's too much stuff and too much info on them for me.
Debenhams have got it right.
The same with each of the Boohoo Group Brand websites. They don't overload the brain with too much on them. For me, they seem to get it exactly right.
Hence why they keep a great customer following and are able to increase their customers more and more.
The market not impressed with Boohoo.Ask yourself.....why????
