"Not good news for those on this forum hoping to make money out of the disease lingering on"
Kallamity no one here wants the disease to linger or high st to collapse, we are just doing our bit to forewarn you on your Abf shares with Primark having no online presence especially as you don't look at the share price (as you keep saying) and it's not going in the direction you want.
Remember Boo has grown revenues at an incredible rate pre-covid and will do after. It's just the stock to hold for me where it is not affected either way ( can not say the same for Primark unfortunately). You say Primark has zero add to ABF (strange comment) if it zero now an further restrictions could see a negative to abf bottom line. I could post my concerns on abf board but won't stoop to your level (and that of your alias peedo69).
They say you can't argue with stupid and it's true!!
When someone think 50k people isolating per day is good for high street footfall you have to laugh.....
Then pinning their hopes on on story saying the booster jab will work..... The first 2 haven't stopped the spread but a third one will....???
Why let a good story get in the way of the reality... 52,000 cases per day and rising.... Even government are forecasting 100,000 cases a day by xmas..... Open your eyes and stop looking at 60p lipsticks....
I don’t think anyone has said there will be? The point stands that we have going out clothes to sell. We want people out
It’s hardly a long term business model to hope our competitions ****s every few months
Fool? Why so dramatic
presumably people will still buy Christmas sweaters, underwear etc
presumably people will still buy Christmas sweaters, underwear etc
There won't be a complete lockdown you fool.
That's a thing of the past. Restriction on number of people etc, testing, mask....
Online shopping will go mental over the next 2 months.
A lockdown now would be terrible. Boohoo and asos are pregnant with Christmas stock they bought early (both have stock balances c.£200m higher than PY) this is all out going Christmas stock
If lockdown stop people going out we can kiss that £200m good bye
The earlier comment is apt that boohoo was able to pivot faster than anyone else yo loungewear (asos was slower as third party brands are glacial). This won’t be the case now as every brand has increased their lounge offering
We need everything open. You WANT to compete. If you think you have the best product and proposition why do you want competitors closed and conserving cash? Rather them be open and have costs at full tilt
There won't be a complete lockdown.
Holiday's etc will still be open however with increase covid requirements. People will prefer to shop online rather than going to shop with masks etc on....
Another reason BOO and ASOS SP went up was down to massively inflated PE ratios (due to inflated expectations about online commerce) which have subsequently come back down to earth (as a result of a something of a burst bubble re the aforementioned expectations) and are unlikely to be repeated in the near future.
*Covid cases is not a good thing for Boohoo. How many times must this be explained. If people aren’t going out, going on holiday, begin wfh etc. they have no intention to buy new clothes, shop around for Halloween, Christmas jumpers etc.*
I think the point begin made, was that lock downs are good for BOO - this is borne out in the numbers and subsequent decline in numbers (directly attributable to returns etc..) since opening up. So, the position of some here is that another lock down would be good for BOO.
Personally, I'm not so sure. Part of the reason BOO and ASOS prospered was because of a lack of preparedness on the part of rivals for online sales only. This advantage has gone and you're also right about the possibility of people spending less due to not going out and on holidays and so on, which BOO acknowledged in it's interims.
Interestingly, however, this is UK centric thinking and BOOs other markets do not look like they're about to shut back down.
To be honest, I don't believe for one second that we will have a full lock down again in the UK - certainly the introduction of some restrictions, but not a full lock down or anything close to it.
So how comes the SP hit all time highs during lockdowns

Agreed Ammu123: In case of any Spike in COVID leading to more restrictions, Boohoo will do well because of tendency of people to order on line
With cases on the rise money will be moving back into Bohoo, Asos etc....
Best to get in early to rise the wave back into 300's now.....
By Dec this will be back into 300's imo.
