Whilst in general terms I agree with your view Star, in this instance, they have access incredible wealth on their doorstep. They need to nail down their cut, trust the international mega companies who want to work successfully also, sit back and collect the percentage split and taxes that pour in over the next 20yrs+ if they just allow the gas and oil companies to crack on
Those in charge in TL need to look in a mirror they will then see the very person who holds the key to everything they could ever need.
Some very simple steps to be taken if they want to create wealth for the country… allowing work on, and getting help accessing their huge oil and gas reserves!!
DILI, 29 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timorese Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak called on all development partners to contribute to the country’s economic recovery and its economic growth.
“I invite national and international development partners to discuss the necessary measures to jointly overcome all the negative effects on the April floods and the health crisis caused by covid-19, which have negatively affected the socio-economic sector. Therefore, I ask the development partners to join all efforts, contributing to the recovery and growth of the country’s economy”, said Taur Matan Ruak, in his speech, during the meeting with the development partners, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC).
According to Taur Matan Ruak, the meeting was an update on the Government’s “commitment and determination” to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals, namely combating poverty, hunger, and malnutrition, as well as promoting the well-being and socioeconomics of the Timorese community.
The Timorese Chief Executive added that the common vision of developing “a more resilient, sustainable, tolerant and peaceful Timor-Leste” was also reaffirmed in the debate.
Finally, Taur Matan Ruak asked everyone to “unite and desire a modern and prosperous Timor-Leste, to be a richer, stronger and more secure country”.
Looks like the new Timor government big wigs look very open to dealing with outside world going forward…

my last post for a while , keep checking those news wires and GLA
Before I go , just read an interesting piece of news , Woodside share price rising and BHP falling
the RUMOUR is Woodside about to take out BHP's Oil and Gas assets, the reason it's of some
interest is that Woodside most advanced ready for large scale production Scarborough gas
field is not far from one of the said BHP assets
an onshore gas processing facility, located approximately 17 kilometres southwest of Onslow.
Northern W.A. that would be a very short pipe from Scarborough
Which means as they still have their refinery Gas/LNG facilities at Darwin , the original 2001/2
plan of backfill , using a pipeline south to link up with the existing Conoco Phillips pipeline
that runs from Bayu-Undan to Darwin is still a viable option for a near term FID for Sunrise
quickly replenishing TL Petroleum Fund that pays for all and give them the option to get
on and actually start building their dream of an up/down stream industry on the Island
that any NEW discoveries on the 11 new offshore licenses come up with
and Chuditch (more advanced) with the option of either, as said before if you bring up a
map of the region with the Bayu - Darwin pipe, then run a line South from Sunrise to tie
in, it would leave a very short pipe tie in for Chuditch to back fill via same pipe with and
or in place of Sunrise on depletion, JUST MUSING but !
anywho got to go hoping is hoping to return and chat / see the good news on the flip side
in a few weeks GLA and keep trawling those links lol
