CCS, absolutely essential for development of their gas fields. Investment appears very close.
Developing oil and gas fields with linked carbon capture storage offers the potential to make them carbon neutral, amid global goals to slash carbon emissions.
"With CCS we are looking forward to develop a commercial model of carbon economies that is relatively attractive in order to be able to tap into the unlocked resources that we have remaining in gas and oil fields," Ferreira told Reuters.
He was speaking from Dubai, where he was promoting 18 oil and gas blocks, with a view of linking them to Bayu Undan CCS, so that the projects could become carbon neutral. Bids are due in March 2022.
The Bayu Undan CCS project is expected to cost "above $1 billion", Ferreira said.

i'm just re-posting this link to show Timor Leste's new level of commitment; the awareness of what they have, and the efforts/plans they are now making to get it out of the ground for the sake of the islands economy. it's all coming together in my opinion - next week, next month, maybe 4 5 months to create an earth shattering difference to our SP
not close to 2 years , as soon as
A) Island give value back to stranded gas and commit to build or allow already available methods
B) A REAL offshore operator arrives to JV or take us out completely FOR A PRICE
:))
been the same stalemate for 20+ years , they are running out of time to get it done
before the game changes , to blue and green gas emphasis around the world
target 2030-2035 for most countries
:))
Iamrich welcome to the bb.
2 years anyone’s guess but if everything lines up and getting drilling. I would be expecting 1p in 2 years. That’s conservative. But 10 bags in 2 years I would take all day long.
Just a patience game. I’m looking to add when hits support. Looking in the 0.0725-0.0750
Only upside from here in my opinion.
Thanks guys, I will research as much as I can on this, guess if I invest I should expect to be in for 2 years?
Try reading the question that was being asked before shouting me down. The question asked was where do we see the SP if the drill goes ahead at Chuditch which, as we all know would likely be sometime into next year and would mark a huge game changer milestone for Baron. So with that in mind it ain't unrealistic to see the SP heading there in a couple of weeks from that kind of announcement. At the time of this announcement we could already be at around 0.3-0.5 following on from the initial and final results of the 3D seismics
3p is a 50x increase from where we are. Two weeks, I dont think so Be realistic. It will take time.
In all honesty given the sheer size of the resource I can see a spike toward the 3p area over the course of a week or 2 and then settling down to around the 2p mark....
Where do you guys see the share price if the drill goes ahead with chudith?
Just teasing us HFB, until they unleash the beast!
The seismic is just a re run of old data and will only confirm what was and is already
known Chuditch is a giant gas field, currently with no home to go to
A REAL offshore operator like Woodside , would do the whole license not just part of
it in months-year BUT in a day like it did last year for the 3d 3,200 sq km of Sunrise
using modern methods and Amazon computer support
They did it in a FEW HOURS of a single day
They are just going through the motions of the psc requirements at snail pace
as without a home or operator , like all the gas fields (bar ex oz exception bayu
with its own infrastructure to Darwin) for the past 20 years , nothing has changed
Fingers crossed this time they get a funder for Beaco Tasi Mane (gas/lng) no takers
last time, or let OZ pipeline 's/backfill or FLNG operations commence this time
ALL as its been forever , in the hands of the ISLAND and not the industry
:))
If you did some basic research you would find Baron still playing catch up
The field mapped , seismic and successfully drilled by Super Major Shell in the 90's
there figures over 5 tcf (850mboe) to the North East side of the license around the
CH-1 discovery drill area, which may be even bigger as they suspected , the fields
chud various Wombat and the other one , could all be one massive gas field
To the South West of the license they also had further large reservoirs , SHELL
suspected to be possibly OIL but more likely to be large condensate fields with
even more gas over them
probably looking in excess of 10 tcf across the whole license , that's over
1,700,000,000 b.o.e aka 1.7 billion barrels of oil equivalent
:))
The seismic , etc all means nothing , Sunrise next door valued $65-$75 BILLION in
operation, valued at $0.00 on the operator Woodside books UNTIL
The gas has a home to go to after other options being available for over 20 years
That's the monster value driver in play , Baron bet a REAL offshore operator come
a knocking at the door and/or the Island finally commit to a monetisation route
for all the stranded gas fields, including kelp suspected bigger than both Chuditch
and Sunrise put together
:))
Topped up yesterday 1.7k
As its payday tomorrow for me will do the same.We are sitting on not 1 but many gigantic fields.
Hopefully once news arrives I will be able to retire a very wealthy and happy man.

Maybe do some more research, you might see the opportunity that I have.
On the subject of share price PP try pricing this in if it comes off and this is JUST on Chuditch just a few months ago....
"Baron said that an independent review at its Chuditch production sharing contract, offshore East Timor, confirmed its view that the project has significant hydrocarbon potential.
The London-listed oil and gas company, which holds a 75% operating interest in the project, said a review of prospective resources indicated gross mean prospective resources of 592 million barrels of oil equivalent, of which 444 million barrels of oil would be attributable to Baron."
So yes as the other poster's alluded to it might actually pay for you to do some actual research so hopefully you'll get to make back what you lost in Angus energy and then some!
Surprisingly , I don't think anyone here cares one jot whether you buy in or not PP.
To simply turn up and one post a downer on the BB says a lot about you.
Especially having done feck all research. a
You won't be missed.
Adios.
PiranhaPires - if all you have done is look at the sp over a range of dates then I'd suggest your research needs extending. Those who have looked deeper know what the next few years may well bring. I will let you look back at your missed opportunity in due course ....unless of course you fancy doing some proper research which may then lead you to dipping your hand into your pocket.
Just had a look at this one.
Currently not holding any but price seems to have tanked over the last five years.
It dropped from 6.5/7p to this and seems to struggle to even get above 1/1.5p, unless they come up with a great finding, can’t see this going anywhere.
Update literally anytime on 3D seismic.....
"Encouraging progress is being made with the reprocessing, affirmed at a key milestone meeting held during August 2021. Initial reprocessed data are scheduled to be delivered in Q4 2021 with final data due in Q2 2022.".........
........."We believe that recent events in the Timor Sea area illustrate the high value potential of Chuditch within this important emerging gas arena:
· acceleration in regional gas development following the Santos US$1.25 billion acquisition of ConocoPhillips' upstream and midstream assets in northern Australia and Timor-Leste;
· infill drilling results by Santos on the Bayu-Undan field in Timor-Leste waters demonstrated high initial rates of gas and condensate production from the Jurassic Plover Formation (the reservoir encountered in Chuditch-1), expected to lead to an extension of infrastructure life;
· announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding between Santos and ENI to jointly explore synergies for the development of gas resources and infrastructure in the Timor Sea; and
· robust demand and price growth in the SE Asia liquid natural gas ("LNG") market, where future demand is forecast to exceed supply."
Topped mine up to 4mill - that’ll do me now. Holding long term so ready to enjoy the ride… next 12 months will be really interesting GLA
Just need the news for this to explode.
Prob next year but could be tomorrow or next week knowbody knows?
And a nice 17.6M buy this morning to start things off
Just topped up 2046484
