Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter says that the power utility has acknowledged the global shift towards renewable energy.
Renewable energy could deliver a range of benefits such as cost competitiveness, reduced emissions and possible job creation.
Eskom has since established a Just Energy Transition office to engage with workers and communities in order to engage on a business model that creates a meaningful future for them.
There is an opportunity to drive a "greener, cleaner" Eskom in future, CEO Andre De Ruyter has said.
The power utility's chief executive was speaking during a webinar on Tuesday, hosted by the Cape Town Press Club...
Thank you Pdub, gambitxjs, bassguy, Alfa, Halespur, SSA, and all for the nice messages - it's much appreciated : )
Ogdie - If there was nothing going on, I'd have nothing to hype the board up about, but when there's so much going on, and with such solid evidence of progress being made that'll benefit BMN as what I found on Eskom's own website, I believe it's of value to bring this to the board's attention. There's a clear difference between that and merely ramping.
Introv - Great point well made there once again, in pointing out that BMN will benefit from all these Eskom projects either directly or indirectly so these tenders should be viewed positively, as good news in itself.
Alfa - in response to your earlier post, I don't have Twitter but may set one up in order to contact you.
Lastly please may I say that I'm delighted to see how quickly we have re-risen above 13p - it's evidence of improving sentiment. Which is remarkable when you consider all the nonsense we've had to go through.
Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the week brings!
As ever, I recommend these as a 'Strong Buy' - this price level is an absolute bargain, sentiment is returning, progress on a variety of fronts is being made, and news is on the way : )
Libero its great to see you posting again on BMN.
I love your combination of raw enthusiasm and background research. Just what this bb needs. Never mind so called balance (aka negativity). We need to work hard to improve sentiment towards this great company. I wish more contributors would follow your example. Keep it up.
Regards. Pdub.
With all the doom and gloom the past year, you might as well keep going Libero. As BobbyAxe posted it's easier for humans to let the negativity stick.
Libero, it has to be said, your posts are extremely appreciated. I (and I bet a shedload of other BMNers) think you are an asset to this board (I'm trying not to be too gushey!), i appreciate all the research you are doing - I'm not 'gifted' in that arena, so, you and many others on here help guide a lot of my decisions.
I know i should do my own research, but, i know my limitations.
I appreciate all the info put forward by everyone and will try to help 'sniff out' some of the wonkers that are appearing all too frequently!!

Plus 1 for libero
Libero, thanks for the reaearch. Not only is the scope of Eskom exciting and potentially game-changing for BMN, it will open the door globally for BE via Invinity and Enerox to sell every litre of electrolyte we can produce. I hope Fortune's ramp-up to 8400 tonnes is going to be quick enough because the pace of growth of renewable energy is daunting. Thank heavens he secured Mokopane aswell. I think we're going to need it.
Comparisons to Largo are extremely valid in the terms that: If someone values us ONLY as a vanadium miner, then it is clear that our peer company illustrates how criminally undervalued we are - just as a pure mining play. People could be investing here as a pure mining play, as they are in Largo, and still be looking at a huge upside. This is important for people to understand. Once people see that then the potentially mahoosive upside of the energy play becomes more apparent.
As for the numbers there is one thing I can say with the utmost confidence: "how close the power stations are from the Bushveld complex geographically" and that is closer than Elon to the tune of a little over 10000 miles.
Oh and how much Vanadium? More than A LOT! The numbers are eye watering for sure and the impact on global Vanadium supply will be large. Luckily, we have Mokopane sat waiting on top of the existing expanding operation.
And even if our battery companies / partners don't make any sales, and we don't sell the vanadium into Electrolyte (which is a ridiculous notion) the increased pressure on V supply from other V battery projects is still great for us. (China aren't likely to stop now IMO, and that is just for starters).
Odgie maybe the mute approach??? Come on mate aim thrives on positive sentiment fact , look at all the shares that are doing we’ll probably haven’t put a spade in the ground as of yet / why because of positive sentiment. Bushveld is very unusual in that it’s made heaps of money since purchasing vametco . The fact is highlighting/ ramping is the correct thing to do here because Bushveld is a genuine operating extremely undervalued hidden gem that the masses have missed because they are chasing/gambling on two bit companies that will never make a dime. Ps Libero your doing a great job keep it up mate I know most appreciate what you post!!
Some people can’t get excited because this is SA and Eskom we’re talking about, they’re good at f@@king things up. I fully expect deals to turn up, but I think it’s a bit naive to hope everything will just fall into place, I hope I’m wrong. It won’t be any fault of Fortune and the team though, they have had this vision from before BE was registered.
I'm actually very happy with what Libero discovered last night. However it simply reinforces what everyone who has been here for more than a year already knows - that the Eskom BESS of 800MWh is now in play and it is going to need 4,000 tonnes of homegrown Vanadium to meet all those VRFB requirements.

Becoming a real BB hero aren't we Libero
We all understand the current situation, having at cheeky dig at us for not doing the maths, as you called it. C'mon man... you've really turned the ramp up to 11 lately, it's always tomorrow or soon for "transformational" news lol
Let's just chill and wait for any news, rather than getting hyped.
and here we are still comparing Largo! Why bother? We're bigger and better than them and, as Mark Twain said, comparison is the death of joy. Let's stop this because it's just adding to the negativity.
And also why not do additional research into what I discovered on the Eskom tender website (the horse's mouth) last night? I was expecting someone to have done maths as to how much vanadium would be needed, how much it would be worth at today's prices, how much it would be worth at $45kgV, how close the power stations are from the Bushveld complex geographically, etc, etc. Honestly surprised by the lack of reaction from the bb.
The future could not be any brighter for this company and the share price. The long multi-year plan is coming together and the share price will explode later this year!
DYOR : )
