I note and have read the comments published in The Express and forwarded by J46 - I suppose that you can reach his conclusion, if that's what you want to believe.
The Conservatives and their followers (in the handshake brigade) have been forecasting that outcome for at least the last twenty years - when they were sure that the profits that they were making in the currency wars, were going to break the community and their social economy.
I am still surprised and disappointed that so many people believe what they read in the papers, particularly The Express, The Mail and The Times. They should all have "Pravda" inserted in their titles because of the space that they devote to party propaganda.
The community and its currency have been of great benefit to the union and the country's within it - it cannot however cure financial illiteracy and downright dishonesty such as we have seen in Greece and Italy, but it has handled problems like the crash quite well if a little slowly for my taste.
When the plague has passed much re-building will have to be done in the economy, which will probably keep interest rates (for savers) low, but not it seems for borrowers where rates for government assistance via the banks already have been up to 12% it was reported today.
As people who have borrowed before already know, this will be hugely profitable for the banks, because it will take years for borrowers to pay off their loans.
Then we are sure to see a divi.....
Good luck all..
British Bank shares are being crucified. Barclays and Lloyd's have lost between 60% and 80% of their value in the past couple of months.......
AIB and BIRG a better bet by far in my eyes....
Rubbish. The EU is a very cohesive unit... Strength in numbers.
This crisis will only make the EU stronger..... And the UK so much poorer.
AIB and BIRG and many other bank shares will rocket when we are over the worst of this...... All bank shares are at their lowest... Or cartainly close to the bottom at this stage.
So much for globalisation - don't think that we will be hearing a lot about after the siren blows for "all clear" - whenever that will be.
Where was it reported that the Germans were think about withdrawing from the EU ? - it has been of the greatest benefit to them and France..
Good luck all...
There will be no EU after this , Hard borders will return,
Fellas,
Not long to go till Birg gets to €1 as I told you . Who was it that said Birg will get to €10 this yr ? Germany now contemplating leaving the EU , cut your losses !
Sorry for typos!!
Irish banks very well capitalised however I would not be surprised if a major British Bank went bust. Shortky. Brexit will certainly not help things over there euther....
I woukd not touch a British bank share with a barge pole at the moment.... Nor an Italian one.
Think this may go below 1.25c..why? Nothing positive on the horizonb as a result of covid, global fall out -especislly US, Francesca hasn't delivered, and dividend not forthcoming...think I might wait out before I average down..
I don't feel this share will fall much more... I think the bottom has more or less been reached...i.e. 1.55....great opportunity to average down though IMO
Good investments power ranger . As much as I wanted to call Leamyk Mr Lucas being the Price of Darkness , 1.25c is easily achievable now. Even Ranger4 agrees a massive recession to come .....when we come out the other side and we will re the pandemic it will be a financial bomb scene. Things will recover albeit slowly. Many core businesses will have to be nationalised as they will be intrinsic to the recovery and form part of the lattice of the core economy. I believe in my own profession I will have to work abroad for my final years as pensions will be a bust flush for a long time. That’s how savage this CV19 has been but folks we will recover, we will see day light, the world won’t stop. Working from home now entails a bottle of wine a night now and midday peeks at the laptop..... it’s hard for us all to keep sane in these times.
