...taking a bit of a hit so BIOG may drop back a bit but it shows you how quick the SP can move! I Was so close to buying when it was -8.5% earlier but just didn't cick the 'Buy' ahhhhh. Could go either way today but well worth holding on to at this price IMO.
That's better
What a bounce!
Hope so! Should probably have used a trailing stop loss to cover this kind of thing... down 30% in no time at all is not fun to watch.
Many thanks guys I suppose there is no good panicking just yet.
Down 8.3% with the Nasdaq futures showing flat, not that that means anything these days. I think the biotech will hit a wall then it will be a buying opportunity then up it goes, this is the traders trying to make a killing.
I'm holding, tyhinking of buying more if anything, it can go up as quick as down. Look at it's 2 top holdings which account for 20% of it's NAV they both went up yesterday, Biogen went up 2%! Soo tempted to buy some more, maybe I need bigger balls....
Not sure trying hard to hold my nerve
is going on with this share. It used to be one of my good ones
Bought today after selling out at 5.2 a few weeks ago. Good for another run up now
Thats left BIOG with a 9% discount with the 12 month average of -2.64%, got to be a big upside soon.
Yep, may be a bit of instability for the next couple of weeks as Biotech as a whole is consolidating somewhat. Hopefully the worst of the drop is over though and it can continue to push on. Long term absolutely no worries.
Buying opportunity hopefully! I got in a bit early when it was 467.56 but then got in at 457.8, hopefully it will have a bit of a bounce tomorrow. Risky I know, but long term should be OK.
Really getting hit here at the moment! Biotech sector is definitely taking a breather. Hopefully it will bounce a little and get back on track. no concerns long term, but not nice to see!
At least your risk is spread across the sector. And I like it as people are always getting sick so it should be insulated somewhat from general market movements.
Continuing! Good to see this keep pushing on. Got roughly 25% of my PF in here (fairly high exposure I know!), but very confident of returns. Serious long term hold!
really impressed with that buy!
Really impressed with this management
8% discount to asset value. http://m.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/mobile/news/detail.html?announcementId=11873574
Almost 5% in a day from a trust, not so bad! Good to see such a strong start to 2014 as predicted.
I'm sure other people have done just as well but it's nice when Financial Advisors 'boast' of 10% annual returns and you know you've had these sort of returns without their 'wisdom' and charges. If you are into single biomed shares, as opposed to ITs, have a look at Oxford Biomed (OXB). I got in at 1.7p last June and it's just on 2.80p today. I'm not recommending it but an RNS, put out today, is worth a read. There are quite a few idiotic posters on the board but, if you ignore them, it's worth a look.
Hi Toft. Well done to you. And we've just passed the 500 mark which is worth a toast!
Just to share my experience of this share, I invested in February 2012 at 234p. After charges I've got a return of 110%. So the extrapolation, In Paisleyporridge's post could very well be realistic.
I've got about 10% in here which is enough for me I think. There is also a risk in here in terms of US equity valuations in general and the extent to which it can ride out a bear market. I'm here because I think it will do better than most sectors and has a story line that should insulate it somewhat. Also when treatments are available I reckon insurance companies will pay for them. I'm looking longer term eg 5 to 10 years anyway. Time will tell how long the 2 yr doubling can continue.
I wouldn't be concerned about ramping here - this is a very quiet board, so even more so than usual - any comments won't affect the price. I share your optimism though, I believe that this definitely has the foundations for massive gains. The sector is growing rapidly and will continue to do so for the forseeable future; BIOG has a proven track record for selecting the right companies to take advantage of this growth. I see no reason why this will change, and as such think you are spot on. I've currrently got around 25% of my portfolio invested in BIOG and will be increasing this further (unsure yet via reallocation or just topping up with new funds).
