“Bids might not really care that much.”
You’ve got that spot on.
Don’t compare being a shareholder of BP and Bidstack. That’s ridiculous.
Bids is start up so generally you would expect to hear more “news” as if even minor news may be material
You only have to look at the leak of news by JD in December to a share mag to see how that impacted sp.
dizzy heights of 14p.
Well said DireEmblem. There is so much conjecture. Probably even within Bids. It is a new technology and therefore pipelines etc are still probably very imperfect. Who knows a handful of big wins could make the company sky rocket. Not getting them could make it unsustainable without some significant rationalisation. We don't have access to their budgeting...
Also I don't think it was a secret that they would need funding. The annual report implied it.
I do think Bids could be better on the communication where possible and they it would benefit the company for a professional manager to take over some of the reins, but I don't think there is a need to thrown the baby out with the bathwater. Think Google and Eric Schmidt.
I also think all the demands for information etc, might miss the point that all those shouting very loudly could actually account for very little of the shareholding and Bids might not really care that much. Does anyone as a small shareholder of BP foe example, expect the company/CEO to drop everything because a few small fry shareholder are a bit grumpy. If you are grumpy, talk with your wallet and invest in something else where you think there are better returns. Nobody needs to like Bids, just ask will they make you any money or should you cut your losses and stick them in something else.
Ultimately one would expect Draper's interest to still be aligned with the shareholders, given that he is still the largest of them. A slumping share price is hardly making him rich is it? Now that doesn't mean a more experience manager wouldn't help.
I do think this company has potential, but it does need to make sure it is controlling costs. Without cash, it doesn't matter how good the product is.
To be fair Dire Emblem It’s pretty reasonable that private investors feel hacked off about Bids.
Literally the bare minimum of communication via legitimate channels about company matters and then coded snippets via crappy JD interviews. All the time costs seem to spiral but revenue expectations don’t increase proportionally.
Lots of people in the hole. Again, the concept is brilliant but poorly actioned. I honestly could see this ending up at 1 or 2p which is incredible given price around new year let alone back in 2019.
It’s pretty hard to stay positive about this, all things considered!
Spot on Rio.
Draper and Fran are alright tho.mugged us off for £300k each
Do some due diligence! Bob is referring to a past message from JD -Q3 2019 if I am not mistaken. Resulted in the huge revenue shortfall. Management credibility undermined. Business model still not proven. Company has never recovered from that IMO.
Something has got to happen here...the SP can't keep falling with need to raise cash, unless they know somethibng we don't. would soemone buy them? (getting despearte now)
Yummy bacon , I also remember drapper saying at around 20p on vox that he expected the price to go up over 30 times . He sure talked the talk but hasn’t walked the walk.
Quite simply Caunt!
I remember Draper on Vox podcast when the SP was at 25p telling everyone it was a "bargain" and deliberately making veiled references to EA and other big things that were in the works. Remember when he was flying around the globe and attending events in China? I can assure you he wasn't staying at the Holiday Inn or flying economy, not when it's the PI's dime that's paying for it.
Remember when he timed RNS releases so that there was a 60% SP drop in one done followed by a 45% increase the next. It doesn't get much dodgier than that. Also, WHAT ON EARTH are all those people in that office actually doing by the way? He is a complete and utter fraud and should have been formally investigated long ago.
Oh yes.....that infamous wonderful winter break and Draper patting himself on the back for his great achievements. I suppose selling a bucket load of shares when he did, was a great achievement for him, just a shame it crippled lots of others. ...still, i don't suppose he gives a to55 about that anyway. 4p is nearly here.....and 3p will follow shortly after.
I think that is a response from a couple of years ago, shory after JD cashed in soem shares. the infamous 'winter break'..its legendary with LTHs.
Bob, what is this reply from?
“We're all executing at speed, with the aim of giving our shareholders an enjoyable winter break.”
I love that... I’m not really bothered about an enjoyable winter break, rather a positive return on investment.
Is that for real? If so, again this company are a bunch of fookin’ clowns!
The company is in a critical phase of delivery between now and the end of the year.
All efforts within the company are focused on the business goals that have been laid out.
We therefore won't be drafting individual responses to investors at this time.
We're all executing at speed, with the aim of giving our shareholders an enjoyable winter break.
We appreciate your support to date.
Can’t see why triple A games would be any more successful than any other game, advertisers pay per view regardless what the game is...just don’t get the relevance of a triple A game. That logic doesn’t make any sense to me...
“probably social media users are paying more attention to advertising; less subliminal”
Are you sure about that?
Think you need go back through news re the independent research.
This isn’t getting take up cause bids haven’t been landing the big AAA games they strived to get.
Now they have moved to plan B and mop up mobile games.
They should have started here first, for the the easy win, while plugging away at the AAA. This seems to have put bids behind where they thought they would be.
Obvs don’t know for sure as they tell us fook all.
Agree this concern.... needs a catalyst to get advertisers to take it up.... and these advertisers are already happy enough spending their money in more established digital space or Insta etc. Spend on social media can be more targeted to a broader demographic and probably social media users are paying more attention to advertising; less subliminal.
Although I have remained confident I do wonder what the advertisers sentiment is. Same old names on show, but limited number of ads currently running. I think the margins were squeezed in order to get reluctant advertisers on board. This for me is the biggest concern, lack of take up. Too early, maybe?
The unexplained departure of Derek Wise was a turner for me. Plus Bids seems to be piling on costs without much to show. A leadership re- charge needed?
We're the mugs bb2609....we've been well and truly mugged and Malaika continues to be.
Just unbelievable how he can sit in the bunker and get away with it every time. Does anyone now think Derek Wise leaving was not a sign of things to come.
In some respects I actually feel sorry for Bottomz he placed all this faith in JD and like the majority of shareholders his belief was abused. That board should be held liable as well. Mike Hayes does a quick shuffle off before the good news goes down.
This company could really make it with a Sorrell in charge. JD did some very good things at the start. But just went crazy with the placing money. Way over expanded head count whit no revs to support it . We were going to be as large as Trade Desk... yep... good people screwed down the line.
Some company will buy them for the tech... and then gut the firm. That is most likely watch head count there that will give you the clues.
