Hi Wilson63
I would think just two people share the revenues.... Publisher and Bids?
The DSP would charge its fees to the brands wishing to advertise?
Either way, I would be happy with 33%, but it sounds a touch high.
*three
Roleyb. I don't know if 20 % is bad, as I understand theee people have to benefit each time therefore the best we could get would surely be 33% and as the middle man that would be ok wouldn't it?
PS - If anyone is playing the game and notices some different brands then I'd certainly be interested in knowing who's getting in on the act. I saw a big list of companies that someone had put on twitter (and reposted here I think) of ads seen in GRID and FM19. The ones that would really excite me would be more fast food outlets getting in on the action with in-game exclusive discounts when you click through (like the trial that Subway did in Turkey - don't have the link unfortunately).
The exciting bit is that ads are targetted to people based on location and also time of day... I see ads on the Adidas example earlier (https://ibb.co/pyJyZ2w) for Alitalia (which to my limited knowledge is the national airline of Italy). Panini which many of you who were born in the 80's will remember collecting their football stickers. I have seen Carlo Pignatelli an italian suit designer. The quantity of ads in that image is very encouraging.
Clearly some of these ads are delivered by/through Bids.....
Anyone got an idea of the:-
- revenue split between publisher and Bids?
- CPM rate being charged by Bids?
No point receiving £10m in ad revenues if the deal is to keep maybe £2m?
Thoughts?
Perhaps I had just timed it wrong to not see any non-partner ads. Hopefully there will be lots showing, although, I guess it depends on who is buying them and how much they are spending. Fingers crossed when they start to see good results then the amount of adspace brands are buying will increase.
Fursake - I'd definitely say that the Andy Mcnab book is a paid Bidstack ad along with screwfix, not sure about Centrepoint, think they may also be a charity connected with FM anyway.
Good to see ads from Canal+, Uber etc being seen though.
I guess that the partner ads are the default if no-one has bought the adspace programmatically on the 11 out of 12 billboards that Bidstack is running and then these are replaced by the brand ads when they have paid their money. I guess as brands get more into the world of gaming the number and variety of the in-game ads will increase.
I have been playing FM20 quite a bit, to be honest. I am on the road to take Dirty Leeds to the Champions League Final, I am still in the championship so it's still the start of the road, however on my travels I have noticed adverts from a number of recognisable names. Screwfix, fierce pc, movember as well as some pretty obscure ones on streams like a book release by Andy McNab, Centrepoint a Homeless Charity etc
Which of the boards I have seen are paid ads I have no idea. It is also worth noting I have only played during early access not since launch yesterday.
To further muddy the waters bidstack are in 11out of 12 billboards and also in one of the podcast Jd stated that people were asking them about doing other types of ads for them.
Here’s the link for a screenshot of the Adidas ads....

How awkward....
Super Jim is right those ads have been in fm for years as they are partners for the games.
Nothing to do with Bidstack at all....
Have seen somewhere though Adidas being on the billboards. Which would be through our beloved Bidstack.
Hopefully now that the game has officially launched we will see proper ads like this more regularly.
Would be good if anyone has the game on here to clarify once they start to see the ads coming through what they are seeing etc.
They are not the programmatic ads leng_man they are the ads for the partners of the game. I'm talking about ads the likes of what Dewhurst is referring to for companies not connected to the game that Bidstack have implemented. Thanks Dewhurst btw for a sensible response.
I know what's going on here, I'm not expecting billboards saying "Bidstack" on them! It seems like you're the one who maybe needs to do a bit more research mate...
Those are the adds Superjim!!! You understand that Bids is placing the adds of other companies in the games not their own lol
My god mate.
In FM the adverts around the pitch and the stadium are implemented by BIDS, you click on them and they take you directly to their website. Every click = $$$
Just loaded up twitch to see if I could see any adverts, Watched a french guy https://www.twitch.tv/jeanblock and saw these companies advertised. BEIN Sports, Canel +, Conforama, Uber Eats on the banners. Didn't see them as partners so could be good news at least. I think JD after what he said on LinkedIn is that he doesnt want to RNS every direction cause hes worries competitors are watching closely.
Thanks RAF31.
I've been watching some twitch videos of people playing FM20 this morning and I can't see any Bidstack ads in the game :-/
All I can see are ads for Football manager itself, War Child charity, Kick it Out, Movember and Special Effect which is a video game charity. Looking on the football manager website the above are official partners of the game and sports interactive.

Anyone seeing any in game Bidstack ads?
I've not played FM20 but I've recently downloaded 'sociable soccer' from Apple Arcade following the announcement it had BIDS tech In it.
I've been playing it for 2 weeks and haven't seen any in game ads, I've message JD to ask if the plugin has been switched on yet but I've not received a response yet.
Anyone on here bought the game? Very interested to see what ads start popping up as it's the first game to use the SDK
