Modern Toss, and that
There’s an advertising idea in all that Bob! LOL!
To be fair I was reaching for the Callander to see if it was the 1st of April:)
Well I never, Kellogg's masterbation remedy lol
The success of Kellogg's Marketing.... and stuff..
Dr. John Harvey Kellogg was a man that was a bit uncomfortable about sex. He believed that sex was detrimental to physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. He personally abstained from it, and never had sex with wis wife. They were even sleeping in different rooms and adopted all of their children. But, even though Dr. Kellogg believed sex was bad, masturbation was even worse:
“If illicit commerce of the sexes is a heinous sin,”Kellogg wrote, “self-pollution is a crime doubly abominable.” In one of his books, he went on to catalog 39 different symptoms caused by masturbation. The symptoms included general infirmity, mood swings, boldness, acne, palpitations, epilepsy and many more.
Kellogg’s solution to all this suffering was a healthy diet. He thought that meat and certain foods increased sexual desire while cereals and nuts, could curb it. That is why, when he was working at Michigan’s Battle Creek Sanitarium, he tried to create healthy breakfasts that would help people curb masturbation. One of them was Corn flakes.
This idea for corn flakes actually began by accident when Kellogg and his younger brother, Will Keith Kellogg, left some cooked wheat to sit while they attended other issues at the sanitarium. When they returned back, they found that the wheat had gone stale. Instead of throwing it, they decided to continue the process by forcing it through rollers, in a hope to obtain long sheets of the dough. What they ended up with though, were flakes, which they then toasted and served to their patients as as healthy, ready-to-eat anti-masturbatory morning meals.
Will, which had less interest in the healthy issues and had more business sense than his brother, went on to add sugar to the corn flakes and started selling them though the Kellogg’s company. The product was patented and the rest is history.
Kelloggs Bob! Of course that would be gggreeat - but they "only" spend $750 million a year on global advertising. The biggest is Samsung and they spend $11+bn - 15 times more than Kelloggs! And in-game advertising strikes me perfect for them (or fast growing competitors like Huawei, Oppo or Vivo). 2nd biggest global spender is P&G (Gilette anyone?), L'Oreal in third (LOreal Expert), Unilever in fourth (Magnum, Axe, Dove) and fifth is Nestle (Have a kitkat during the break in gaming) - even they spend over $7 billion. All have many other brands that should benefit from in game advertising spend. There's a lot to go after! And just look at the different categories - in terms of importance, global spend is highest in personal care and household, then automotive (both those are around $50 billion a year. Next is entertainment, retail, food and beverage, Tech, Booze, Telecom, Financial Services,Apparel...all very big sectors. Had a meeting this morning with an extremely well known global brand that is shifting significant money into gaming advertising during next 24 months. As game design enables more in game advertising, and early investment are seen to deliver good metrics, the momentum will clearly gather pace..
Agreed Bob
Here is the wording from Digiday
Competitive gaming campaigns are now a staple, rather than a test, on media plans for most Kellogg’s brands.
The advertiser is shifting more advertising spending to esports because it offers something that most traditional sports cannot — almost unprecedented access to younger people between the ages of 21 and 34 who have high incomes. Since it jumped on the esports bandwagon two years ago, Kellogg’s has steadily made inroads, moving from experiential activations at tournaments to being the headline sponsor of them. For Kellogg’s, esports has gone from an experimental investment to a continuous one, said Dominik Schafhaupt, marketing manager for snacks in Northern Europe at Kellogg’s.
Swear to god almighty right, if Kellogg's are moving a chunk of their advertising budget into esports and games.. then this is going only one way... its the most positive proof I've seen seen yet...
talks cheap, whiskeys expensive !
