Yes, FarEnd, of course we are on the same side...I'm just saying. :-)
Those figures may be pretty meaningless to you Suzy, that's because you're looking at the perspective from a local level.
Me, I'm just trying to justify my original post that you questioned, which was, "Mining doesn't usually take a high profile during national elections, it tends to be and remain a local issue," I'll stand by that.
As for LKAB, totally irrelevant, I've no idea of their business plan, governments always want more and be in control.
The north south divide is not the preserve of the UK, it's even more prevalent in Sweden, hence the need for Jokkmokk to reduce their budget. It's been in decline for years. It's difficult to stop the movement of people not only in Sweden, in fact the EU positively encourage it, :~) but you know my views on the EU.
Don't forget, we're on the same side here Suzy, in that we both want this concession granted, then I'll never invest in anything Swedish again lol.
And if they're so well off why does Jokkmokk have to reduce their budget.
Those figures are pretty meaningless to me...why has LKAB been spending money looking to secure their future iron ore resources if they've already got plenty.
Certainly useful info Farend, however I'm not sure that the people of Jokkmokk feel there's is much that's more interesting. The question is what influence can they bring to bear
the far end very interesting figures thank you,
"Will they be backward and reactionary with the MP Party and look to recycling and imports for their metals".
That's what you'll get with the Greens Suzy, if they had their way we would all be running around in sackcloth.
Sweden's steel imports amounted to SEK 31billion versus 46billion exports, June 2021 figures.
Sweden remains #32 in world crude steel producing countries at 4.4 million tons, a figure that has remained largely unchanged for the last 11 years, (overall EU figure nearly 140 million tons).
As for the imports of their metals, currently they have a c15 SEK billion excess, so by that metric, mining is not a national issue, hence my comment, "for most, there's more to worry about than a mine outside of Jokkmokk"
Morning All. I think it has broader implications than that, Far End...it's about whether or not Sweden will continue to be a mining nation, do they want to move forward with green technology or will they be backward and reactionary with the MP Party and look to recycling and imports for their metals.
Mining doesn't usually take a high profile during national elections, it tends to be and remain a local issue.
For most, there's more to worry about than a mine outside of Jokkmokk.
Just saying.
But of course, the election is next year.
Ulf Kristersson is leader of the Moderate Party...looks like the Mining Industry is going to figure high on the list of election issues.
Hello Wats. I think it means that the delay in mining issues is tantamount to the delay in deciding our Application and Mr Kristensson is keeping his eye on the ball.
Is this suggesting that things are set to move forward in mining? Excuse my ignorance but sometimes the translations can be a little vague.
If I may quote a bit from Rabulisten on the Placera board: " Ulf Kristensson (M) has now published posts that the government has delayed mining issues. The ball is rolling! "
Thanks Rab.
Oh, deer! Lol.
You guys sleigh me.
I believe they are on strike for having to work christmas.
Before our good friend Ibrahim makes his decision surely he will ask the reindeer directly for their thoughts? They can advise on a carbon hoof print for the project
