PS SFH300 internal e mail me!
Stick with BBB, ORCH and some longer term in POLY . ORCH will give you 3p per year div, BBB, will payout again and well. Have some others like UU, NG, GKP for income and stay the long game!! Peter
Return of capital is a zero sum game, as per last autumn and with AV last month, so nothing to be gained there. I've just sold some HSBC because I needed the cash, but now everything I'm holding bar AV is in the red. If I need cash from my investments in the next few months I'm going to be losing money and lots of it. So, much as I'd like to follow you and take a punt on BBB coming good, I'm currently holding all duds and cannot take more risk. I'm just hoping your faith works out, for both of us.
Everybody time to buy when under 60p,I will be in today or Monday for 11,111 shares!
SFH300 keep the faith, within 8-14 months there will be another sale and returned assets to shareholders, plus with what BBB do for both civilian and military, LTH and will be back above £1 soon!
You're right, of course, Pete, but I need 82p just to break even and it's very difficult to see where that's ever going to come from, outside of a satellite falling to Earth and opening up a significant gold deposit.
This is everyday a LTH, if you are not prepared for the long game and cannot wait 12-25 months you should not be in this share at 60p.!!!
If I sit any tighter gangrene will set in :D
Patience and sit tight!
Disappointing that, after yesterday's big buy which was recorded after closing, the SP didn't open higher this morning.
Maybe? It could be the start of Director or CEO buys? Or maybe someone else knows something is coming down the line in 2 months??
It'd be nice if it was a PDMR ;)
Nice buy today by someone who knows a good thing!
< thumbs up >
It was slow and had to do 4 individual buys at 10,000 each as II, could either not fill it or wouldn’t at 59p for 30,000, so got a better deal with 4 individual weird set up with II for limit deals and getting them filled! I am impressed with II.
SFH300 - Also take a look at ORCH and GKP which I intend to load into!
Ah, yes. Typo, I guess. Selling at 438p sounds more like it.
I'm not really sure about ii. Thus far it's done nothing for ABDN except contribute to its plummet.
No sign of your extra 30k today, though.
Also unless you have 20, or 30,000 AV shares even the 28-32p yearly divi is not that great, plus I doubt beyond 2923 is sustainable?
SFH, if you read articles on BBB, they plan to return more cash or a divi payment from the money and shares they still have in Quickline! This I think will be July/August?
I sold out at 438 in AV shares! I had sold out originally after the April divi and just before 16 May and then bought back in at 392 on consolidation day. Hope that makes sense? I see BBB and ORCH and even HSS as better long term growth and divi’s than Aviva, which I think is stagnating and losing big time to, HL/AJBell/Interactive Investor and even Vanguard!!!! As more and more people switch to SIPP’s even through large companies and their pension schemes and the old guard of Aviva and Barclays and LLoyds get left behind! Aviva should have used the 3 billion or so to buy Interactive Investor and also to look and scoop up the smaller Insurance and SIPP providers it could find and buy! They rely too much on big default company pensions like BAE , whose 82,000 employees have Aviva pensions, like many large companies, but this is changing, quick!!!
Yes, I asked last Friday (on your BBB Time to buy! thread) if Simon Thompson is still of the same view that he expressed in that article.
But I'm not sure I understand much of the rest of your post. "Next declared divi"? BBB has never paid a dividend. And why do you think there would be a "special dividend" after last autumn's return of capital? There don't appear to be any sell-offs on the horizon, and if there were they would most likely hang on to the cash for potential further investment down under and maybe even SA (I don't think Scandinavia will do anything).
Also, "cashed out of AV today at 380, took my cash gain from buying in at 392 after consolidation"? AV closed today at 436.40 (HL) and I'm reasonably well up, having bought more at 395 post-consolidation. You certainly wouldn't have made a "cash gain" selling at 380 having bought at 392. It doesn't seem to make sense, but my apologies if I'm missing something.

This report is well placed,

PS - Buying another 30,000tiday or tomorrow!!
Stick with it SFH300 it will come good, just needs a few more months for next declared divi’s and maybe even a special div? See previous links ! Plus checkout ORCH.
I cashed out of AV today at 380, took my cash gain from buying in at 392 after consolidation as I cashed in my monies on 15th before consolidation and had the small divi before that. AV will do well for dividends, but don’t see much potential for BOD getting into fast lane! They should have bought II instead of ABDN getting there hands on a very good SIPP and ISA, pensionssupplier with good rates and fees!
Seems to be the view of everyone holding this Boris-Johnson-like stock.
