What. do you expect from politicians? They just. seek headlines - give little thought to the practicalities or the. consequences. . The. good brains are in commerce. or industry.
It's just 0.9% from UK and when you consider that to Vaping in UK which is on increase, smoking is going to be in rear view after 15 years so who cares for this election photo finish announcement. Better get this gem now and enjoy 10% dividend.

''the likely ban of people born from 2009''
stupid and unworkable . can you imagine in the future, a 69 year old man asking his 70 year old mate, to purchase some ***s for him - it is laughable.

''what you think the SP will go to short term? ''
I never think short term, only to when the market will eventually value a business (in this case BATS) at a more realistic valuation ( and not at a way way way undervaluation) - time to do that is immaterial with the fantastic dividends.
"does anyone here have a rough idea of what revenue the company gets from tobacco sales in the UK?"
Very Little. North Africa & Europe account for 22.8% of total sales. And I imagine UK is far lower than places like Egypt.
But what they do sell will be very profitable. There's so much tax on UK tobacco products, that the product cost is tiny.
I can't see in the BATS reports but does anyone here have a rough idea of what revenue the company gets from tobacco sales in the UK?
Given the likely ban of people born from 2009 there will be no affect now but interested if anyone has an idea on how much of a market this is for us?
First time poster on this board
I've just topped up - just shy of 3000 shares at £23.10. Hoping to get this to 5000 shares in my ISA
LTIN- what you think the SP will go to short term? (Possibly after Interims)
Some at about 2267 p
Up to 40% of my holdings now, only so large because.
1. cashed out on most other shares as needed the money.
2. averaged down a bit with another 200 shares today as think this has bottomed, it seems to have hit this low several times over the last year but I could be wrong
Cheers pal. Yes so true! fingers crossed inflation does start to drop!
My bet is yes, but much can happen from now until then in the world. Would help of course if inflation started to drop.
Think the July Interims should give it a good boost Graham? Even if its just short term!
15% (didn't notice it becoming such a chunk ^^ )
But it's okay for now, hopefully. Lacking of comparably alternatives it's one of the few so called "nobrainers" I seek investing in.
If you know something else this bombed, yet healthy... you're welcome
May stay in the doldrems for a while until July interims, but i did buy another 200 a little while ago at 22.775 thats around 10.3% yield. Amazing this still drifts even with the share buyback. Oh well gl to all LTH.
Is there anything upcoming to help this SP as its falling day by day
Directors look to be accumulating shares. You have to go back to Mar 22 to find the last director sell.
For me this share is a hold and cream in the dividend.
"Would. any other (income ) investors like to tell me what percentage of their portfolio is in. tobacco?"
4% now but I wish it was zero.
IMB 9%
BATS 6%
I've held IMB since i bought in after the covid crash.
I'm still well in profit + dividends & the % was higher, but i sold some at near 2100p & some at 1800p+ (the day of the last full ex-dividend date).
I hold LGEN at 8% & others such as UKW, DEC & LLoy are around 6%
18%
Needs lowering.
Don't do this at home kids.
Kentio,
IMB: 3.70% by valuation; 3.76% by projected dividend income
BATS: 3.00% by valuation; 3.90% by projected dividend income
Guitarsolo
Would. any other (income ) investors like to tell me what percentage of their portfolio is in. tobacco? For info, I have 3 1/2 % in BATS and 1 1/2 % (one and a half) in IMB. Thanks.
