Johnace so much garbage in one paragraph and that's what growing companies do- take on more debt.
Do you hold some short positions on this stock?
@Johnace, all markets down on Friday, no big surprise that BAE was down too.
Nice try though trying to take credit with your post, I do think you're way off the mark with your thinking.
I called it in my post yesterday with the £4.80 drop. It’s due to still a lot of uncertainty
Div will pay 14p a share in June 2021 so it’s up to decide weather to hold
Cons - larger increased heavy debt.
Pound strengthing against dollar were majority of business is
Rumblings of UK defence budget decrease. As well as inenevitable decrease in US budget after this years contract is finished
2021 forecast from BAE is based on exchange rate of $1.35 when it is actually $1.42 today and expected to rise which would essentially wipe out any profit growth forecast for next year
Seen as a ‘Sin’ stock
Bonkers share, its dropped more than companies that are doing crap. Is the dividend worth the hold !
Before any question, I am long and I have no intention to sell for at least 5 years . I just want to know if I have "n" shares
Ex Divi 22/04/21 - I sell "n-1" shares on the day
Pay 01/06/21 - I hold 1 share , would I get 14.3 only or 14.3X "n" ?
You are not making excuses JR. I came to this share very quickly this morning on results day and quickly glancing through while looking at charts etc got the wrong impression too
To think I stayed at school for so long, and I'm still an idiot!!
It may be me but the release is not clear at all.
Am I just making excuses??
The total dividend of 37.5p per share for the year comprises :
Interim (final) 13.8p dividend in respect of the year ended 31 December 2019 which has already been paid 14/9/20.
Interim 9.4p dividend in respect of the year ended 31 December 2020 which has already been paid 30/11/20.
Final dividend of 14.3p in respect of the year ending 31 December 2020 to be paid 1/6/21 to shareholders registered 23rd April 2021.
SIMPLE.
Thanks JR
I've taken some time to do my own digging and I conclude that the divi is 14.3 and that's it. The statement from the company is confusing:
"Final dividend of 14.3p per share making a total of 23.7p per share in respect of the year ending 31 December 2020. The total of 37.5p per share for the year includes an interim dividend of 13.8p per share in respect of the year ended 31 December 2019, which was originally proposed as a 2019 final dividend but subsequently deferred in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic."
what they are saying is that they have accounted for 37.5p dividends because the 13.8p was deferred but importantly paid later (I have checked records). Therefore the divi is 14.3p
Contrarian
As I understand a final dividend of 14.3, and in additional payment of 13.8 relating to a deferred divi.
I hope this is correct - all I have read so far is not clear.
and what is the amount JR is it 14.3p or something else? I am confused from BA's results announcement
Ex Divi 22/04/21
Pay 01/06/21
What this goes to show in my opinion is that 75% of the SP these days is reflected in sentiment and about 25% in actual tangible results. I am a long term investor and happy enough to be patient but I do find it a little confusing an frustrating that this hasn't driven a higher upturn today given how undervalued the shares already are!
Have exactly the same question. None the wiser by either BA.'s results or the previous posters
What’s the ex dividend date
