@toli is that a gut feeling or a more scientific view?
Enjoy the ride
You are so right
Weirdly they were all fot the £6.50 whic is well below the quoted £6.80 mark
I believe the after hours are large sales/buys that relate to sales buys that took place during the day hence they were buys and the bottom was £6.40 and it has bounced off the low time to get back in
Some large volumes yesterday incuding a 5m sell showing as an UT
I held briefly and took a small loss three days ago, wasn't comfortable holding this, and Millennium International increased its short yesterday. A buyout/offer would appear to be its only hope.
Lowest broker note is 753.
Very weird price action this morning
I would be more concerned if AVON was falling continually but the market in general was soaring....given that the whole market is suppressed it is not so concerning.
If you have any available funds average down and wait for either recovery or a (increasingly likely) takeover.
I agree, the signs are not good. I don't see anything being done to recover the business, such as new products and/or bigger & better sales of existing products, and/or restore investor confidence. Should never have sold Milkrite, there's always going to be a demand for milk. I'm hopeful Jos has some better news in the foreseeable
This share just doesn't seem to have any positives with a continued downtrend. Never thought we would get to this price.
Starting to lose faith in management and especially when you don't see any directors buys at this price it would seem even they don't believe in the future of the company.
Hi
You have the same sentiment and strategy as myself. I have been buying and selling AVON, PFC, for months. Yesterday I bought AVON @ 703 and sold later @ 725. As I already had AVON, I did some serious averaging down. If you read this message, have a good look at 888, DARK, SYNT. Because I’m buying these shares on the highs and lows of the day.
Happy hunting.
Lots of negative comments here. I have seen these occur many times on many chat boards when the share seems to trickle downwards for a very long time.
My response is usually to average down.
This happened to Rr...if memory is correct it was sitting as low as 60's this year...I averaged down....it is now above 200
This also happened to PFC which went to the forties...I averaged down...it still has along way to go but is now back in the eighties and I no longer have a paper loss.
My gut tells me that Avon will be taken over...the CEO has form from for this. Even if this doesn't happen as the price drop fts downwards I will average down again. The company is fundamentally sound so at some point the price will rise and it won't need to rise before I am above water.
Just my opinion and my strategy.
DYOR.
Sell off complete
Wasnt ex div yesterday? This dog paying fairly ok divs!
It just seems to going one way at the minute and that's down. Maybe the odd dead cat bounce but it's not worth getting trapped in when there are so many better shares around.
We are now back at 2015 share price levels - mental.
I have better options for cash, averaging this down is not on the cards for me.
I will continue to hold as its now pretty small. If it pops a little I will exit and move it to another investment.
May well be good entry point
The interim dividend will be paid in pounds sterling on 8 September 2023 to shareholders on
the register at 11 August 2023.
This was from the half year results statement.
Ex divi was on the 10th If I am not mistaken at least I got that
***an, the best you can do in this situation is average down...
i am of the opinion that a takeover is on the cards here.
also isn't ex-div date about now? perhaps this explains the dip today, also that sudden drop below 700 looked like a move to trip a few stop loss auto trades..
all imho dyor
@***en39
i know what you mean. hindsight is a wonderful thing.
it's the top of my list... but unfortunately the list of my worst performers portfolio.. 😁
Might be a good time to STFU then... as you are a non-invester and non-believer......... So shut the door on your way out !
This share is a dog in my portfolio, its in such a good market segment and still can't turn around a good performance. I should have exited a long time ago.
Think this company needs a drastic shake up.
Was but something too odd to know what's going on.
My gut feeling is a bid is on the way but I cant risk my money as it may just be more bad news
