There was an RNS...
In T212 this message was updated yesterday -
Military equipment manufacturer Avon Protection ($AVON) said Wednesday it bagged another order from the US Defense Logistics Agency.
The order, worth $14.2 million, is under the second-generation advanced combat helmet framework contract signed in February 2022.
Does anyone know about this new update at all? I couldn't find anything online!
Tempting fate, this is going to reclaim £10 again
I just trimmed as the price has now reached my average...if it falls back to the 7's I will average down.... otherwise there are plenty of other stocks I could do with bringing down my average....it was going to be PFC if it fell below 25 but it went up a fair bit today so that just didn't happen 🤣
Stockopedia showing slightly increased forecasts today - must be a new broker note out for the big boys....
It is indeed perky, I don't know or have any theory what's causing this, though plenty of very professional advertising on LinkedIn these days (pushing the current/future products and organic growth). Be interesting to see if it holds > £9
Perky today for sure
Have you considered reading the RNS?
Is this related to the sp hike at the end of the day ?
You mean somebody could be building a stake ? it is impossible to identify who ?
I note that an entity just doubled their holding to 10 %......things are getting interesting
Well I've heard they recently split the business into two P&L's which could point to sell off's/acquisitions, yet on the other hand it could just be a means for more focused control on costs within the two business sectors.....
Seems to have stalled again, but holding £8. ..seriously wonder if any announcement is just around the corner. Does anyone have any credible insight they're able to share?
Thoughts?
..and this evening, now Mrs Sclater has added to the Sclater pot... (or rather reported this evening). Glad I held my holding.
CEO and CFO piling in here. They must smell a takeover bid coming next year. I'm sure AVON would have many bidders who don't care about the p/e - rather interested in the strategic moat AVON has. GLA
Another day another RNS...further acquisition of ~£131K shares by Jos....you dont make an aquision that size without confidence
Try again, Cee Ooh Cee Kay
wont allow ******* on lse
nice piece on avon by richard crow (****ney rebel) https://****neyrebel.substack.com/
I do think something's afoot, not a buy-out as some are suggesting, but something along those lines - no idea re the timing. I also note there was another non-exec director buy today, small volume, 2,000, but a buy nonetheless. You could be right Trendz, "we've seen the bottom"
I’m a bit puzzled about the 6-7% fall today. Poor results but they were actually slightly better than forecast and for me I see signs of recovery. Let’s see if we get a bounce back to £9 over the next few weeks. I do think we’ve seen the bottom here, so could attract new institutional investors for the recovery play. Bon chance !
Evan
There is no time limit on "insider dealing" if directors are privy to information (that is not in the public domain) that could effect the share price in a substantial way they are barred from share dealing.
There is a built in time period between directors trading and major news (think it is 2 months but someone correct me if that is wrong).....so again I will state tha the drectors did not buy ~£430K of shares in lat october on a collective whim....something they are aware of has triggered this mass purchase....
I think it is a takeover....you disagree....also fine....the great thing is time will reveal the actual reason (maybe a large order instead, which would also be good)
