In the alternative universe of the stock exchange, it is probably possible
Also the trade was for -6500 shares....not sure you can either buy os sell a negative number
I'm seeing a close price of £9.84, up .24 - hope that's correct..
It's an error, trade must be a typo, 6 instead of 9 . It's been recinded.
What is this 28 percent fall showing on some data at 16 40 ?
Seems to be in a better place if you can copy with the daily moves.
Reversed and ii investment bodes well!
My theory is: the last 2 - 3 sales are what was expected or rather the Directors anticipated, hence bought in.
I sense there was a lot of immediate profit taking once the price had reached £10 coupled with the fact the market is now watching to see if Production can now deliver on the agreed Sales.
All in all it's a positive story, growth and SP increase will be slow, organic, and progressive.
A buy-out isn't on the cards in the short to medium term, at least not instigated by AVON - IMO.
None.....today is ex-dividend day but the price drop does seem to be overdone.....
Anything is possible but you would expect the price to recover in the coming days
I wonder what difference the capital market day presentation today makes to the share price.
Hello hookey
It is almost impossible to find the bottom or top of a share price - anyone who claims to know this is a liar.
shares prices fluctuate on no news depending on market sentiment.
Best advice I could give you is to add more shares on a drop to lower your average. The advantage is you can trim some when the price climbs again to your break even point (rinse and repeat)
When I first bought into Avon it was at £22.65 in mid 2021. My average is just North of £9 now......if it drops again I will lower my average again (I trimmed (sold) £10K when it headed up past my average).
I still think long term we will see a takeover approach here.

*there
*warm to the story
Also, I don’t invest for takeovers but a bigger fish may see this business as an attractive option given the relationships with the big military spenders.
In my opinion, some resistance after hitting £10 and a retrace from their, coupled with some profit taking after sp was around £6 and ex divi date tomorrow meaning unlikely new investors would start a position. I think the company is back on the right track with this ceo who seems to have a plan and executing it well so far, in my opinion. I think as trust is rebuilt from the previous issues investors will want to the story again. At least I hope!
Im quite new to Avon and thought i was investing in a solid company thats turning a corner and winning new large contracts. I dont understand why it keeps dropping after good news. Anybody got any thoughts on why the constant drop.
Anyone any theory on such an aggressive drop is it normal for this stock?
Ex-dividend date tomorrow....could fall a few more %....also a little shocked at the fall on good news this week
Fallen 10% on good news wtf?
Well I did not expect that drop today
And then it gets vertigo
Sp should rise above £10 imv- increasing tension in the world and increasing orders!

Avon Protection plc
("Avon" or "the Group")
Next Generation IHPS Delivery Order
Avon Protection plc is pleased to confirm that the Group has received its third delivery order worth $36 million from the U.S. Army under the Next Generation Integrated Head Protection System (NG IHPS) helmet contract, which was previously awarded in September 2021.
Jos Sclater, Chief Executive Officer at Avon Protection plc, commented:
"This order is a testament to the strength of our long-term contract positions, the growing demand in our addressable markets and the trust our customers place in our cutting-edge technologies every single day, all of which further underpin our position as a leader in mission-critical ballistic head protection."
Given the ship has been steadied and 2024 is reportedly setting up as a year for heightened M&A, it’s certainly a possibility.
That being said I’m invested here for longer term and sustained recovery given had to average down after an ill timed purchase in the £20’s……. If someone wants to come in and offer £20 a share right now though then feel free! :)
What are your thoughts on Avon being bought out by a larger defence company(or defense since most likey US based)?
Jos has a long history.....
Ultra Electronics - takeover by Cobham approved https://www.gov.uk/government/news/update-on-the-proposed-acquisition-of-ultra-electronics-holdings-plc-by-cobham-ultra-acquisitions-limited
GKN PLC was taken over by Melrose 2018
ICI was head of legal leading up to their acquisition by Alkzonobel and remained with Alkzonobel for a period after where various mergers and sell offs occurred.
Mergers and acquisitions seems to be a theme to his tenure everywhere....
Recovery continues.
Jos Sclater, Chief Executive Officer, said:
"After a year of strengthening the business, we are now focused on our objectives of creating a competitive advantage through superior execution, growing faster than our markets by delivering new and improved products to our customers, and increasing margins through our transformation programme. While there remain a number of opportunities and risks for us to navigate in the year ahead, I am pleased to see the results start to reflect the strategic and operational progress we are making. We remain focused on the actions required to deliver our medium-term objectives."
Avon will report its half year results for the six months ending 31 March 2024 on 21 May 2024. Prior to this, the Group will host a capital markets day on 8 February 2024.
