And of course the second big takeawy from todays RNS (the long term look ahead).......... over to you AS again..........
Well yes, of course I needed to write in the formal tones required when "informing the market" but actually what "Now that we have developed a robust lateral flow test architecture, we can easily insert Affimer reagents that that can be very rapidly developed for new variants if necessary, and indeed in response to any other future pandemic virus" actually was meant to convey is...... Boris had recognised Avacta as central to developing a long term robust and resilient "UK response / capability to future Viruses" way back in the Summer of 2020 and asked (or rather told) us to concentrate our efforts on that particular task rather than getting a test out quickly to deal with the current situation (he said he had that covered with the China crap and other "short-termers").......... the long term UK / Worldwide spend (in perpetuity, say 10-20 years +) on supporting this effort will dwarf the current spend / value of tenders being announced (to deal with things today) and Boris said he really needs to get this "right" and do it "properly"(he's had a few co** ups on the way) ............ he also mentioned something about acknowledging our great British scientists and healthcare workers in the (2021) New Years honours list........... I must say Sir Al does have a certain ring to it, although maybe thats me being a bit "premature" ........although I do note that some on social media appear to be "ahead of the game", on that score!! :).
Everything adding up. What a good start to the week.
Exceedingly good post
Todays RNS .............. roughtly translated ...............over to you AS.........
"We are aware of the announcement of an £8B tender on Friday night ..........in the context of supporting our loyal investors (and in acknowledgement that "communication" is highly valued by our loyal investors....... yes I got that particular message, you may have noticed a raft of RNSs over the last 2 months) we are concerned that there will be much de-ramping over the coming days / weeks regarding our current status of no actual CE mark / clinical validation ........ I can't say as much (formally inform the market), but this is a formality (I wrote the bl***y book!).......... the time taken is more about crossing the Is and dotting the Ts (this is the British "sovereign" test after all, not some cheap crap from China) by those (jobsworths) paid to do so .......... off the record, we are the pivotal company involved in the British consortium and the tender has been "tailored" or actually "driven" with our products(s) in mind ....... so I thought Id better drop an RNS this morning in the guise of "we can detect all known major variants" .......... which should be read as "everything's on track with CE making / clinical valdation" no need (for our loyal investors) to stress out in the interim as the tender closure date approaches and those pesky de-rampers can do one (or do their dough, as Kippers might say)" ............ me (Kippers): its called reading between the lines!! :)
If I used that term in my business to fellow directors, I would not mean April ... up to a week before the end of March. If I thought it was going to be shortly after the Quarter, I would NOT say around the end of the Quarter as this would be misleading.
As I’ve said before, I hope they miss the end of March and the price temporarily crashes.
I agree around the end of this quarter could be any day now, equally I would caution that it could be in the first couple of weeks in April.
Knowing how timelines have slipped best not allow the derampers any headroom by setting 31st March in tablets of stone
Spot on Eric. Can come any day now. What is apparent is that everything is lining up for April roll out to coincide with the latest gov tender.
Our next key milestone is full clinical validation and CE marking of our lateral flow antigen test which we anticipate will be around the end of this quarter and I look forward to updating the market when that milestone is achieved."
For me, ‘around the end of this quarter’ could be any day now. Anybody disagree that we’re already around the end of the quarter? Circa 10 weeks down, and just over 3 left. Just my opinion. Around the end of the quarter doesn’t have to mean a few days either side of 31st March.
The original order is mologic first, avacta complete accreditation, CE mark transfered.
The result with variants is brilliant. TL right to be nervous - we should all be cautious yet mildly excited.
Share price will go up. Either now or in two weeks time. Hopefully both.
@risk. Thanks
For some reason (blind optimism about retiring soon), I though Mologic in March with Avacta ce end.
My bad.
Travel_light the RNS said Mologic are expected to receive their CE mark by end of March, after which it'll be transferred to Avacta.
My bill? .... bike?
End of March for CE is cool and I couldn’t less how it’s achieved.
Rather a company gives estimates and accept that are only that. It’s better than zero info.
just it was interesting to see a date change tagged on the end of some good news.I would have thought affirmed affinity for the variants named has been known for a while.
But I guess we can wait to see when Avacta ce mark and Mologic marks are issued. My bet Mologic one not before end March.
Ash - That I don't know, but to some extent out of his control. To reaffirm the timescale given its only a couple of weeks away, must be confident!!
Getting a bit boring travel_light, was alright a few months ago where it was nothing but waffle, now it’s just petty
He’s never specifically said we’ll get it before the end of the quarter, besides its 3 weeks max....small change.
He did say "anticipate" Ash, which allows a bit of wriggle room
Good news.
One odd thing was end of March for CE. That’s was the date for Avacta own CE once quality certifications as approved. Mologic CE mark is meant to be before then. CE mark by end of March great but once again some fuzzy talk. If the date has slipped say so.
D9ber1 - "that was the key bit for me, sticking by the end of first quarter milestone, that's a couple of weeks away". That was key for me too. Owing to how close this is now I just wondered why he didn't say 'by the end of this month' rather than quarter
Can't tell you anything subject to the NDA, but we can tell you how superb our test is!
This RNS is actually a better message than the nuclear option we hoped for, we should explode from a higher high when it finally arrives at the end of the quarter
FOR AS tk still be stating q1 is rather significant. I'd expect news prior based on previous missed deadlines.
Oh, the BAMS this week imo
Have to feel sorry for Tom W... Haha
That was the key bit for me, sticking by the end of first quarter milestone, that's a couple of weeks away. This time I feel we are definitely driving towards this key milestone. I wouldn't want to be out of this, the SP going to fly in next few weeks. GL All!!
Completely forgot about this as a potential banana skin, can you imagine if it didn’t detect variations...
Convenient timing for PR after the tender announcement Al ;)
Another box ticked on that monster gov tender. Well done AVCT
