This Company is doing my head in. I wish they'd get the main test over the line before sending out comms on new deals, without getting the main one over the line first. I love this business, they potentially have the most incredible tech in a generation and wish we'd be given focussed comms on tests we're waiting on that rather than water/toilets in the next few weeks. Please please give us the news we all know is imminent, even if it's a bit of an update.
Awacta supply affimers for a living. They’ve done the hard work, why wouldn’t they sell them? Bizarre...
It’s another route to the Covid market, as wise Timster said, the potential multiple revenue streams are building up nicely now. As soon as they start coming through, Awacta are in for the mother of re-rates. Just in time for the cancer trials. Despite the limp market reaction, it’s getting better by the day.
Avacta are working at 100 mph to get this saliva test to market make no bones about that. For some of you saying they need to concentrate on this and not to diversify are not understanding how things work.
With all the will in the world finalising the end product is being done at the greatest speed. Certain perimeters will have to be met at certain stages and will obviously take time, whether one person is doing the work or a 100.
Avacta has found another route which opens up a further avenue and one they can work on with current staff without being detrimental to the saliva test.
Once the saliva test is signed off, they will forcus on this water test more and possibly other areas they might think they can exploit.
Patience is needed rome wasn’t built in a day. It will come, it works as they have told us, and this RNS affirms all.
Defintiely agree Daves1310. What I really like about today's RNS is that as you say, it highlights Affimers are clearly a multi purpose product. BUT also, some saying focus on the LFT, why are we venturing into other areas? People are missing the fact the optimisation of the LFT tests that CLEARLY WORK is with Cytiva. In the meantime, we are entreing into parterships where the companies have agreed to use AVCT as an integral part of a much wider product chain.
Would you commit to something like this knowing an integral part of your product may or may not be quite good enough to detect the virus. I dont think so!
This to me is another confidence booster saying these are going to be good, people are happy enough with the numbers to commit to using them in their workflows, so just wait to see how good they really are. "Gold Standard" we are being told is the aim
Pigster precisely.
tsbs1 I don't see the harm in diversifying so long as resources are not taken away from home testing - its good news. I guess the success of the project will be cost and accuracy over existing tests - probably traditional DNA based detection atm. For me the important thing is is it is an indication that there is confidence in the performance of the afirmers.
@tsbs1
Get historic samples out of freezer.
Run PCR on it using Covid primers.
Yes, people do have the ability to test for this already.
A bit longer than 4 seconds, though.
They already have, the baton is now with Cytiva to get it over the finishing line.
I can see the logic in trying to see spikes in in the virus in certain areas but Im not convinced there would be reliable test results.
There has been talk recently that the virus was found in water samples taken in various countries before the out brake occurred in china. So somebody appears to have the ability to test for this already
They need to focus all their energies on what created the hype in the first place and get that across the line
As a sidenote (not all that relevant granted) I used to do some ecological work involving Greater Crested newts. Much of that physical searching of ponds has been taken over by or supplemented by sending water samples to a lab to test for newt DNA now - no test strip though lol.
Timster yeah that was my thought when I read the RNS. Seems is a clear sign that the afirmers work esp as they are saying a timescale of weeks. When everyone was cooped up thinking about covid all day I'd imagine more of an effect on SP may have occurred.
CS yes the dilution is not something I'd really thought about until reading your comment. In the UK and US as far as I'm aware toilet water and water from showers, baths and all sinks etc all end up in the same sewerage water so yes I would imagine the dilution would be considerable.
Todays RNS is more confirmation (if any were needed) that the affirmer tech works and is accurate.
It's all potential at the moment hence the share price but when the BAMS, LFD and now waste water tests are approved and live Avacta has it all sewn up literally the world is our lobster!
very very exciting times ahead and in the very near term....
