But you claimed I was FOS and `your nothing more than a ‘ high insight’ trader, calling the calls after the event.`
Seems like you`re the one who`s FOS!
Well done bottomzup. If your arms long enough, stretch it round to your back & give it a jolly good pat. I’ve done pretty well here too but prefer to rather more discreet about my position.
Yeah right bottmzup. You post the same claptrap about other stocks. You come across as authoritative, but your nothing more than a ‘ high insight’ trader, calling the calls after the event.
FOS, there are plenty just like you.
ZOOM
*************
Yeah right ZOOM, declared this sell and got it right so far though haven`t I?
Stick to your bunfight posts and leave the proper trading decisions to the more experienced traders.

Zoom, congratulations, thats about as ignorant a post as I`ve read in a long time.
I`ll give you a clue, I made two sell trades last Thursday, on two separate companies, so that I could add the funds to another one of my holdings because the signals were right, but you`ll never know who they were, because I don`t feel the need to declare every trade to totally anonymous strangers on a discussion site.
My first post here was on the 25th Aug (correct) when I asked....` Anybody on here ever heard of technical analysis, and in this case, chart patterns in particular?
In the next few posts I went on to explain the pattern that had played out which nobody else mentioned...the ascending triangle!
This pattern had been developing since the end of June, and I started buying when price fell to the rising trend line. I bought 3 times with an average of c138p, and then sold half each on both £2 spikes at an average of c193p!
So I built my holding long before I first posted on here.
ps. I wouldn`t have bothered to post my trades on here at that time anyway, I wouldn`t have been able to get a word in edgeways due to the massive amount of pointless comments (hundreds daily!) by all the barstool tipster gamblers and newbies clogging up the board with a verbal bunfight.
My time was used much better concentrating on my main holdings while having this one as a trading puppy!
pps. notice how I haven`t posted on here since late Aug, but still held a position.
Make that 15%. Even more impressive.
I genuinely don’t think I remember bottmzup arriving here until the end of August when the price was around 1.70. Fair play for managing to squirrel a 42% profit bearing in mind the the price the price is around 20% up from then, but I guess that’s being an expert trader for you.
Arbitrage, thanks for your grown up replies, you obviously have good experience.
Good luck with your decisions.
oldtrader, did you read the bit earlier where I said I`m able to sit in front of the screen all day with my account(s) open?
I also pay for a live prices terminal on this site as well as RNS alerts set up, so I see an RNS immediately along with the immediate live price data feed, not 15 mins delayed.
If you`re gonna trade you might as well set yourself up right so that you don`t...get stuffed!
Bottomz up... yes, a fair reply, you are clearly not emotionally attached. We shall see how some manage to get back in at just a few percent higher when the news lands. All the best with your trading (sincerely)
Bottmzup if RNS comes out during market hours you will be duly STUFFED
Arbitrage, if an important RNS lands at 7am tomorrow they will gap the price up and I will have to see how the buys and sells react at the higher price, and make a decision accordingly depending on the significance of the news.
My strategy is that todays rise was a technical one, and that profit takers, like me, will drive the price back down if there is no official news in the coming days.
As a trader here I`m ok with my risk of missing out because I`ve banked 42% already, and have plenty of other trading options elsewhere to use the funds if I miss the `big announcement`here.
If no news and price drops, say at least 10% - 15%, then I will very likely put the funds back in here increasing my holding at the lower price.
I`ll play it as I see it, but have the comfort of knowing that I took my profits and live to trade another day.
The market doesn`t like uncertainty, so until the anticipated (by some) big news lands then the market treats it as `uncertain`!
Fundamentals for the `why`....technicals for the `when`!
Bottom,
“ If a big RNS happens then I`ll be looking for a good entry, timing is everything, and after a good RNS rise there`s always a pullback on profit taking if you`re not on board at the start. ”
I think the issue is the above simply doesn’t work if you are 1) locked out by a 7am rns or 2) caught intraday.
Such are the shares in issues (and mental nature of the avacta PI user base) waiting for the RNS could see you with far far far fewer shares.
If that’s your risk profile than it is sensible, but to suggest it’s an easy entry after the main rns drops may simply not be true...
I have no problem with people trading, I'm just not much cop at it when I try.
I do object to posters trying to drive the price of a share down with false information or speculation. That wasn't the case here though.
Whilst those lot are working on their technical knowledge, I'll go and practice my proof reading.
need to*
though*
BZ, absolutely spot on with your analyis of both the chart and peoples behaviour on here!
There's plenty of information out there on charts. Some of the individuals who attacked me earlier need should redirect their time more consutructively onto educating themselves a bit more. Even for those who don't want to trade a share, at some point you're going to be buying and selling... this knowledge can help to get a better entry and exit. It is useful to EVERYONE. PI's who neglect or don't believe in charts are both ignorant and foolish.
I suppose it was nice to get my own thread, through...
Hypermarlin, I built the position before, and while, the ascending triangle was developing, then sold half @185p when the breakout happened, then held the other half until today when I sold at 204p because it hit previous resistance, with a cumulative 42% profit.
No decision on direction now as it either needs to break support and drop below 188p, or rise strongly past 215p previous resistance.
If 188p breaks in the next couple of days then I`ll be watching how 182p holds up.
If a big RNS happens then I`ll be looking for a good entry, timing is everything, and after a good RNS rise there`s always a pullback on profit taking if you`re not on board at the start.
Plenty of ways to play it if you`re able to be in front of the screen all day, with your account(s) open.
ps, why do those who don`t understand charting or trading signals and technical patterns resort to sarcastic insults and childish remarks? Is it because they are insecure about the fact that they know that they don`t know how it works, and its their only way of comforting themselves?
I`ve noticed very similar responses to charting and TA posts for many years...must be a pattern there!
hahaha priceless this. what a contradictory statement. 'Sure AVCT will go up but best to sell high and buy lower.' Enlighten us Global, when you buying back in? Fool...... do love the comedy though, thank you honey.
@Bottomz - very good. Did you get in at 142 at the dip on 29th Sept?, or much earlier?
Don't listen to some on here, shares go up and down especially today jumped up without an rns. Sure AVCT will go up but best to sell high and buy lower.
Heeeeeeeeeeere’s Global :-) What price did you sell at?!? Don’t tell me, 230p, somehow?
Trading legends, the pair of you!
Agree Bottom sold and took profits and will buy back in once the inevitable drop happens, if not then will put it into SYME
My trades work every time, well at least with play fantasy money.
Soon a the real thing at stake I sell to early abs buy back too late.
Lth for me, I like the sleep, but admire those who can, so long as they don’t just pump abs dump, using “FACTS” :-)
If you made money this morning, well done.
I bought 20k extra at 145 a while back and sold half for a 20 per cent gain. Not so smug now its risen another 15 percent on top. Still the rest wont get touched for a long time.
